Jim receives a gift the day after Christmas. And then another one the next day. And again for the 10 days after. Is it a joke, or has his True Love come forward?

Oh, this chapter just hit all the right buttons. I love the couch cuddling and the drunken kissing that goes just a little farther than he would have expected. And sleeping over. I'm a big fan of sleepovers. :)
8 Hee! Way to grab my attention with the first sentence. And I love how they both made a little more effort (or less in Jim's case) on their appearance for each other. And the stairwell scene. And the makeout at the end. Whew! Great stuff.
When you start with fun times in the shower, you know it's gonna be a good slumber party! And OMG one day until the reveal!
And it was all revealed just as it ought to have been! Very sweet ending :)
A few light bits and pieces I'd accumulated (have written enough angst lately, thanks.) Since they were just languishing, I figured I'd resurrect Vignettes and send them out into the world. Each is a stand-alone, NOT a chapter in a work-in-progress, so feel free to jump in and out. (I'm thinking there will be 3-5 pieces, but will have to see how the mood strikes me.)

A love triangle, from a different perspective.7 Oh, my God, I was cringing the whole way through this by how totally far off Karen was and how it's going to be such a sucker punch to her when she finds out the truth. Very interested to see where this will go!
And the pieces are beginning to come together... Karen's SO close to knowing and understanding the truth. I can't wait to see how she reacts.
Ah! It kind of kills me how in denial she is. Or even how close she is to admitting the truth, but then still thinking it doesn't matter because Roy gives her stability. And her question in the elevator is such a tease, but was very enjoyable to read.
9 Hee! Could this get any cuter! I love how they make it into a game, even getting competitive about it. “Oh-ho! Two kicks! Two!” Pam exclaimed, holding up two fingers. She pushed herself to a sitting position. “Beat that Halpert!” Ha!

8 HA! This was too fun. What a wonderful twist on the classic story. I love Kelly's reaction to Angela's kiss. And Dwight trying to cover up the reason for his mistake. And this: there’s not enough sugarless gum in the world to wash the taste of sin from her mouth.

Darryl convinces Roy to come out with him and get over Pam. Spoilers through A Benihana Christmas. Kind of a follow-up to my Darryl fic Yamaha.
9 Oh, this was so good, and so sad. I love your take on how completely into her he was right away in high school, and the proposal story and how they twisted it - and how you just jump from there to the break up, because we kind of know already how it went downhill from there. And this: “You think.” He felt helpless. He wanted to convince her that he was happy, she was happy, THEY could be happy, but he felt blindsided, and he realized with a wave of nausea that that she hadn’t drawn him from memory in years.
So, so sad. But I really love Darryl's pep talk. He's so rational, and so right that they've both been doing better since the breakup. It's good to see Roy starting to realize that.
Teeny thing: The only way he knew for sure that she was there is the glass of orange juice sitting on the nightstand. I think the "is" should be past tense.
Thank you! I was worried about the big time jump in flashback, but I figured that as far as Roy was concerned, there was no real problems until she ended it. Poor sad bearded Roy.
Oh, and thank you for pointing out the tense problem - I originally had the story structured a bit differently, and all of the flashbacks were in present tense - I was convinced I missed something, but you can only stare at the screen for so long. I went backand fixed it. Sometimes all you need is another pair of eyes. :)
7 Ooh! I know I've read this before, but I can't remember where or when or if I left a review the first time, but anyway, I really, really love it. It's got all the really satisfying aspects: Jim asking her to take a chance, her considering her options and TAKING a chance, and a happy ending. And Jim in his underwear. :D

8 Ooh, these are all such interesting parallels, and you show that so well. It'll be interesting to see more of these, if more little comparable moments come out throughout the season, which I'm sure they will.

9 Oh, Jim. Such a dreamer. The last one, the last sentence, was devastating. I actually think I like the pre-Pam ones the most. I like seeing young, naive Jim. And the baby-sitter one was adorable!

Good catch, Semby -- I left that a little ambiguous on purpose. In my mind, Pam was a little tired while walking around with Jim and Annie and had to take a break. Why? I suppose that's open to interpretation. :)

Poor Pam. My heart's aching for her. I can't wait for the new episode so I can see for sure that she's ok again!

9 Mmm, this was lovely. I think "Mars" may be my favorite even though it's the most painful, because the emotions just feel so vivid in that one. I love him telling her, "I just really want you to be happy." Aw. But I do love them being all playful and together and happy in the last two as well. That's a real treat. :)
