What a great story! Some folks over in the OT chat room recommended it, and I am so happy they did. A very charming story, and I loved your characterization of Karen. Too many people make her a lovely/sweet character, and I think you hit the nail right on the head.

yay for giving blood! seriously, fyi, that makes you a freaking hero in my book. mostly because i work for the red cross (aka they take all my time and i get nothing) but not for blood services. i teach cpr and first aid. and various other things. but also because i can't donate blood. my body really doesn't react well to the whole process. but yay for donating blood. and yay for fictional jim!
can i scream and punch karen for saying they have plenty of blood. i mean, it is at a freaking shortage, it is getting really really serious. grr. and jim could save as many as 3 lives!!! one donation=3 lives.
and pam is donating. 6 lives :). and now i will think of blood donation as romantic. haha. i may have to say screw the wackiness that it does to my body and donate!
haha, i love when its like have you had sex and jim says yes and pam says no and the interviewer person is like "wha?"!
great story. next time the blood mobile is on campus, i will have to donate. i would go down to the chapter, but considering the blood mobile is here like every other week, i think i will have to wait. screw what happens. i haven't donated in a few years, maybe it will be different. i remember my first time donating, i adjust turned 18 and i was so proud. i was like, yeah, i am 18. finally. okay, enough of memory lane.
Author's Response: Is my feeble attempt to get the MTT community to donate blood that transparent? You'll be happy to know I'm supposed to be taking someone to donate blood for the first time, so, 6 lives. Woo.

What a perfect Valentine's Day story--I loved it! I loved how natural seeming the hand-holding and other little signs of affection were between Pam and Jim....it was very well written. I also very much enjoyed seeing Jim ditch Karen for Pam on Valentine's day. Yay! Thanks for writing!

wow.. and here's the crazy thing: i've been planning to donate tomorrow! first time! (would have done it sooner, but couldn't for medical reasons) and yes, i'm nervous.. but i've always wanted to... of course, if i had a certain 6'3" guy there to hold my hand, well, i'd go every week! great story, i love pam. ^_^
