Very, very cute story... and very believable! I can totally imagine this happening. I want to hear more!
Author's Response: Thanks! Glad you liked it. :) I appreciate the thought behind your call for "more", but I have to say that this story is complete as it is. Thanks again for reading!

I thought we'd get to see Jim's reaction to Pam's text message. Oh well. I loved this concept; it was done very well. And I bet the crew does have bets down on when JAM will happen!
Author's Response: Looks like I stopped this story too soon, or somehow left it out of balance, since everyone expected more. Well, this is valuable feedback! Thanks very much for reading and commenting!

these two do need a freaking bulldozer :). good story. interesting behind the scenes stuff
Author's Response: Bulldozer, steam shovel, ClueBat upside their heads...whatever. They need something! Glad you liked this.

Hmm. "Who are you texting?" "I'm rejecting your kiss!" - Shouldn't Jim see those scenes, too?
I love stories about Jim and/or Pam seeing tape. All they'd have to see is some youtube videos to get a clue, right???
Thanks for this.
Author's Response: I didn't want this story to go on forever, and I'm okay with Jim remaining ignorant about the text message. We fanfic writers have to leave SOME territory for Greg Daniels and company to explore! :D Thanks for reviewing!

This is a different idea, but you did wonderfully with it. Great job introducing the "new" characters (the camera people) and with the dialogue -- it was all really realistic and well-done. Loved seeing Jim's perspective on the Diwali party and all the mentions of dancing Pam. Awesome! I really liked this a lot. :)
Author's Response: I think of all the things Jim would miss about the Diwali party, seeing Dwight in a dress would have been number one, regardless of his feelings for Pam.

I really enjoyed this. The thing I hate most about the first part of the season is that we missed Jim's reactions to EVERYTHING, and this? I think nailed what he would've thought about Diwali.
I just wish we could've gotten Jim's reaction to Pam rejecting Michael's kiss.
Great job!
Author's Response: I had to go with the idea that the DVD Jim got would not have included everything about that night. He doesn't see the last half of the evening (Michael's proposal and the aftermath), because the crew didn't give him the whole 'reel'. But yeah, the idea of his reaction to Michael trying to kiss Pam is ... food for thought. :D

In response to your ANs, the crew would probably be shooting on digital. You don't have to reload all the time and it's much cheaper. It's way more cost/time effective. In case you were wondering, which ;) you probably weren't. I really like the idea that Jim knows how Pam looks when she dances without her knowledge. It explains her surprised/pleased look at Phyllis' Wedding so well. (Huh? How does he know that? He thinks I'm cute? Aw!)
I really enjoyed this. Go meddling film crew!
Author's Response:
I wasn't sure about the film/video question because I wasn't sure what look the (fictional) director of the mockumentary would be going for. I decided on digital video because a) I have shot on that format myself and know it, b) it is, as you say, more cost effective and the mockumentary crew HAS to be low-budget, and c) it makes the whole DVD thing feasible because handing Jim a cannister of 35 MM film would really slow down the story. :)
I'm glad you enjoyed this, Paper Jam. I love the idea of the meddling film crew that, like us, Just. Can't. Take. This. Any. More.

Oh, I'm so glad that someone tackled the documentary crew challenge!! And dancing Pam too? You overachiever!
This was pure magic.
Author's Response: Overachiever? LOL! Okay, I'll cop to that. Thanks for reading!

Love this and the film crew especially. More please
Author's Response: Thanks!

Wow...love this. It's about time someone gave them the shove they need. =)

Great idea! I love the thought of Jim watching all alone in his apt and being so taken with Pam (still), longing for her, being amused/charmed at her dorkiness...all of it. And the documentary crew manipulating the situation - not totally farfetched, just another level of their asking pointed questions during the talking heads - plus I like the idea of them playing god. Very meta.
Funny, touching, sad (especially when Jim realizes how many things Pam never mentioned to him - the measure of how estranged they are), clever...just a great read, NEJ!
Author's Response:
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, colette. I liked the idea of Jim finding out about Pam's dancing in private, because he is in many ways a very private guy. If he'd seen her in a public venue, I think he would have tried to be all stone-faced about it (failing, of course, adorably). When he's alone, though, he can relax and react honestly, or at least as honestly as Evolved!Jim thinks he can be these days. Ah, self-delusion, thy name is Halpert.

Oh, happiness! The 'famous Beesly dance moves' and Jim seeing the documentary. Not to mention the film crew pulling the strings -- that is absolutely priceless.
And I never would have noticed anything about DVD formats or raw digital footage, so it's all good.
Thanks for a nifty little diversion on a 'rerun Thursday'!
Author's Response: I was rather proud of the film crew. Looking back, I think I have subconsciously put myself in that story: I think I'm Stella. Although I don't smoke. Does that make this story a Stella Sue? :D

You should REALLY continue this! Make them give him the Casino Night DVD. I'd really love to read another chapter of this. :)
Author's Response: Thanks for the thought, carebear, but I usually don't post a story until it's finished, and the one time I went back later and added chapters I didn't think it turned out well. So, this is all there will be. But thanks for the thought!

aww, rock on! great descriptions. don't be done, though! i want to see what happens when he sees roy leave and then when pam sends him a text and tells michael about...oh, hell. you know. :0) you are just too awesome for words, i simply don't want this to end!
Author's Response: "Leave 'em wanting more", so they say. I guess this story did that! Sorry, but I don't think there can be more. In any case, watching the footage from the Scranton film crew would not tell Jim about the text message; all he would see is Pam using her cell phone for something. We only know she called Jim because the final cut includes footage from the Stamford crew, of his cell phone vibrating. If Jim thought anything of her using her cell phone, he would probably conclude she was calling Roy!

That wa great, great work!!! Rating it a 10!!
Author's Response: Thank you! So flattering!

Awww...Jim really does need to get a clue... stupid men.. Great job with hitting two challenges at once! Very impressive! And yes, Leon needs to slip that DVD to Jim because, as he said, "Those two need a freakin' bulldozer."
Author's Response: LOL! I don't think Leon really wants to lose his job. Although, if one of the camera crew got fired, they might slip some footage to one of the victims...interesting idea for someone else to write...:D

Oh, NO!!
I need more of this!! Like, yesterday!!!
I'm actually bouncing in my seat and squeeing silently. Which prompted my boss to ask what I was looking at....
Thanks!!
cheers.
--Lex
Author's Response: Silent squeeing is high praise! Thanks! Sorry to disappoint, though, but this is all there is. Onward to other challenges!

i like this a lot. there should be more of this.
Author's Response: Thanks!

Write more immediately. This was great.
Author's Response: More of this story? Well, no, this is as far as my stunted imagination can take me. But I'm flattered that you ask. Thanks for reading!

That was a damn perfect story, NEJ --> except for the part where he doesn't see Roy leave. ;-) I would love to read more of this!!!!!
Author's Response: Ah, but who am I to let Jim off the hook by letting him see Roy leave? I'm just jumping on the Let's Torture Jim bandwagon...Thanks for reading!
