I apologize, I'm a bit incoherent after this last bit of wonderfulness. Does Pam know? I think she might! I think she might suspicious... Highly suspicious... Jim knowing when her art classes were in addition to McPants breaking up with his girlfriend the same night Jim broke up with Karen? A box of every color of crayons on the day McPants had suggested she find out what Jim's favorite color was? She's suspish. Oh, she's suspish. I'm curious how Dwight knew about the break up... will this be something revealed in a later chapter? Is Dwight Vexin? Hmmm...
Moxie, I would willingly enter into another six week hiatus if I knew that I had a story like this to obsess over. If this were a book, I would buy it. You need to get paid for the brilliance that is you.

FAN-tastic! I actually think her dress was not really purple-y enough to be periwinkle, and was more like aqua, but your mileage obviously varies. But, I LOVE that he referred to her Casino Night dress. Was that Squirrel McPants' intention when he told her to ask the favorite color? That he would then use that to bring up that dress and (inferentially) that night? Wow. Just... wow. And Pam's surprised look and her stuttering? That's right, more wow.
I also loved (okay, everything, but...) the bit in the diner. How smart of Jim to meet Toby away from the office! Pam was so sweet in the phone calls back and forth and I loved Jim's reference to the Flirting Disaster of '07, and that he knew over the phone that she was blushing. The bit with Dwight was really cute, too - made me think of the end of Traveling Salesmen.

Aw! I have a Jim grin on my face right now. I had a feeling that that was going to be his favourite colour, so I'm glad that it is. So sweet. I can't get enough of this story. I feel like Pam with her box of crayons, just enhaling the whole bunch of it.

Ever since Michael (or Jan) made Jim the Number Two guy, I've been wondering when the sexual harrassment card would come into play. Both Jim/Karen and Jan/Michael are walking on ice here, and it's fun to see someone actually taking that into account in a story. And I love your bringing Toby into this; he's such a good friend. That ending was perfect, Moxie. And I loved Jim's gift and I loved how Pam asked her question without actually talking to Jim in person. Plus I was very happy to see Jim discussing the Karen situation with Toby. At least now someone in HR has been forewarned of the potential problem.
Excellent update, Moxie! Whenever I get the update notification in my email, I grin, and squee "Squirrel!" I get the oddest looks, I swear. :D

Oh my god. I don't even know where to start. (That last blittle exchange has left me a bit stupified.) First: I happened to glance down and see the "Previous" tab at the bottom, indicating that it'd be over soon, and I swear I got the same feeling that I get on Thursdays when I realize there are only a few minutes of the show left. Wow. That said, so many lovely touches here -- sympathetic Toby, oh-so-perfect Dwight, and Jim's gift --- brilliant! Seriousy, such a sweet thing and something that he totally would do.
As for the "favorite color" exchange: I could so see that happening on the show -- and the episode ending there, leaving us all reeling and squeeing, rather like I am right now.
One final note: I've read a lot of comments lately about WIPs - why some people love them, why others don't. And I have to say, while it's frustrating to have it end when you're wanting more, it's also sort of nice in the sense that I know I've got something else to look forward to in the next few days. I swear, this story has gotten us all through this hideous hiatus.
That said, you'd best start cooking up something just as awesome for the summer, missy....
