This is really great! I’m a big Karen fan (just not for Jim), and I agree 100% that she’s not as genuinely confident as she’s sometimes depicted. Not as an insult; it’s just part of her journey. And spot-on that Kevin is equal parts apathetic and intuitive. Great take on that! (I’m a Kevin fan, too. I have a soft spot for that big guy! 🙂) Well done!

I love that this was from Kevin's POV - it's fun to read different views. And this line was awesome - "It would be better for Karen too-- she had no idea that she was going to have a house dropped on her fragile psyche eventually, and it may as well be now".

good stuff, here. like someone else said, i dig it when the minor characters get a little fleshing out. you did that well with Kevin, here.
they say you're either lucky with cards or at love. i'd get my ass kicked by kev, but it'd be a battle, not a massacre, that's for sure.
respect.

Awesome. I love all the hidden stuff about Kevin, who is kind of a cross between James Bond and the Pillsbury Doughboy...You really explored it well.....Great job!

I KNEW there was always more to Kevin. What with all his knowledge of Naval history and all that. He KNOWS strategy.
And yes, someone needs to kick Jim's ass. In a good, friendly way. Not in a Roy's gonna kill you way.
Although Kevin kicking Roy's ass is just making me all kinds of giggly.
Thanks.
cheers.

I really loved how you represented Kevin in this. We rarely get to see his side of the story. The one aspect I miss, in regards to this story, is one of my favorite quotes, "Niiiiice."
I could definitely see Kevin saving Jam. He's definitely not the chump that most people seem to pass him off as.
Author's Response: You are so right! -- thanks for the feedback. I just had to edit the story to add his signature line (describing the view during Karen's song)

I love stories like this, that flesh out the more minor characters.
"Jim was blinded by uncertainty, but he could be stirred to action with a bit of a friendly asskicking."
Oh, for the love of M&Ms, administer some asskicking on the show, Kevin.
