Well - just call me the queen of schmaltz - I loved it! And I love Jonathan! I totally agree that Pam would be weepy at this point. Her whole life is being turned upside down. If i could make one nit-picky criticism - if this was supposed to be a day after casino night, it would have been too early in the year for Roy to be doing Fantasy Football stuff. Can't wait to read more!

For me, the most poignant scenes are the two with Roy. He loves her, and his affection comes through clearly, but he has no idea what's coming.

Sigh...Jonathan. Keeping them apart after they've declared their love qualifies for cruel and unusual punishment. Another fantastic chapter! How I wish you had written the next one already.

Wos that was an emotional chapter to write and for us to read. Looking forward to when she tells Roy

So apparently you didn't fall for my attempt to get a sneak preview on the TWoP boards and posted this chapter for all the world to see! This really goes well as a follw up to Casino Night. It fits nicely and makes me feel better about her resolve to be with Jim! No worries needed. Now I can't wait to see how she tells Roy!

You take my breath away - I literally forgot to breathe for large sections.
I don't know why you were nervous! You did a fantastic job!

The words conjured up three years’ worth of memories….all of which told her that the answer was very, very clear.
In fact, there simply wasn’t even a question anymore.
Perfect lines to end it on. Nice work on this. I feel very content right now. Thanks ;)

*exercises ninja-level will power to leave review before clicking on final chapter*
Great inner monologues here. And the realization that she loves Roy is important.

“God, let me make love to you – just once….”
JESUS.
*wonders what girl7 has against me*
I'm sorry for all the selfish, terse reviews. I'm just in such a hurry to read your story while I have a couple of hours! Great job on drunkJim. Loved the image of his head in her lap.

And it all boils down to the last line, doesn't it?

Gah! Jim's note at the end is perfect. So are all of their voices, especially Roy's at the end.

Yes! Finally, Pam admits it! You're not done with this, are you? Please tell me there's more!

girl7, I don't normally leave reviews (not that great a writer so feel I have no place to judge) but this entire story is just wonderful. I loved that you used 'Ever the Same' for the one of the songs, it's one of my favorites and I do think of Jim and Pam each time I hear it ;)
Keep up the wonderful writing, you are extreamly talented and I look forward to each new addition.

At this point in time, two weeks before (finally!) the season premiere, I will only read Casino Night fics that bring something new to the table...which this first part did, despite the fact that you've already written an incredible version. Ok, on to Part II...

WOW - I have literally been on the edge of my seat waiting for these 2 chapters to arrive and I was not even a little disappointed. As always you capture these two and all of the conflicting emotions so well. I have to say I think my favorite part of this chapter was the seduction conversation about playing poker. OMG I thought I was going to melt into a puddle. You are, as always, brilliant. Please keep writing (because I am greedy!)

There are so many great things about this ending - a) it's ambiguous so we don't know how it is finally resolved; b) there's satisfaction in knowing Pam finally confessed her feelings; c) the characters are so emotionally ravaged and laid bare ... there's a sense of hope in that you know? You've completely trashed them and left them in the emotional rubble - but this is a place for rebuilding and starting new..., and d) I love that Jim has the integrity and wisdom to force Pam to deal with things and work her way *out* of the Roy relationship because it would be too easy for her to fall into a new one with Jim. I too have anticipated and loved every update to this story - thanks for getting me through to the new season.

I have been listening to Ever the Same for the past two weeks now, and when I read that song in this story, it gave me goosebumps! I never really put that song up to the "Jim/Pam" story, but it works so perfectly! I love how you incorporated that song into your story. You write so well! I love all the chapters, and you handled Casino Night very well!! BRAVO!

Very sweet :) I got a little nervous when she saw Roy again and was uncertain.

The thing about this show is that underneath how funny it is, there is so much real, raw pain so close to the surface. You've pulled that into the open and made it beautiful. The way that pain has shaped these characters and will continue to shape them is depicted flawlessly. You've brought them both through this with only the barest glimmer of hope to sustain them (Jim, especially), and it turns out to be the only thing strong enough to hold onto.
I don't suppose anything like this is waiting for us in season 3, but I am so glad it exists. Thank you.

Ahhh.
First, the end of the elevator scene? Devastating. Pam clueless, Jim reeling. The veil? Brilliant.
My other favorite moment? Jim's indignation that he'll miss a monster or two. I could see his expression - thanks for that!

Nice. Love the convo with Abby at the end - because I would stare ;)

No need to be nervous! That was unbelievable. Incredibly well done!!

That was lovely! I really liked the way that Pam kept stuttering and not-quite-saying that she loved him, because that seems very true to her character. There is more, right?

Would asking for Casino Night Parts 3, 4, 5...be too tall an order? So riveting - a great emotional ride. Bravo to the whole series.

So here's what I'm thinking. You NEVER have to stop writing this story. Really...like you are old and grey in a home somewhere and you can still be writing about the Halpert's grandchildren, no? And you KILLED me when she kept saying "I can't leave him for you.". Oh and when you get a chance, would you mind emailing Jonathan's phone number? I seemed to have misplaced it :)
Author's Response: Your review made me laugh out loud! :o) Thank you!
