Loved the part about Karen and Jim looking at the painting, and Jim not telling her how he knew. Made my heart hurt a little.
Author's Response: That was probably my favourite scene in the entire story, seriously. Thank you so much for your wonderful reviews!

Haha, oh Jonathan and his crazy ex-girlfriends...
The letter Jim wrote was amazing. He should have sent it. After he erased the parts about Karen. And wrote "I still love you."
And thanks for the link! I love when authors do that.
Author's Response:
Ahhh, reading each chapter for the first time, are we! You are awesome! Thank you so much for going to the trouble of reviewing each one- you're totally awesome for doing that. I'm glad you love the links- puts a face to the descriptions, doesn't it?

I LOVE stories that have Pam leaving DM and working on her art career.
And I loved "Jim says: Creed" That was great. I love when they do that sort of thing on the show, and using it was very realistic and funny.
Now I've gotta read and catch up!
Author's Response: heee!!! I'm glad you're enjoying this chapter. And it is such a Jim thing to suggest Creed isn't it? (Not that Creed knows how to operate a computer...) LOL Thanks so much for reading!

Your descriptions of Rome are so vivid...as is the sense of mounting tension - kind of holding my breath for Jim to realize Pam's actually there and what he'll say to Karen about the ring, now that his Pam-lurve has begun to be reignited (not like he was in too much of a hurry before that.) Also - interesting that you mention Roman Holiday - there's actually a kind of cinematic quality to this story - the picturesqueness, the suspense, etc. Hope to see more soon!
Author's Response: Wow! Thank you for the amazing compliments. I'm glad the suspense is shining through- I'm so evil the way I just throw in the cliff hangers, aren't I? Thank you so much for reading, for reviewing and for your awesome-ness LOL.

Wow. Wonderful chapter. I probably say that every time.
So now they've both seen each other, and Pam knows Jim is in Rome, but Jim assumes he saw someone else, right?
And Karen found the ring! Heartache's in store for someone. It amazes me that Jim would still be with Karen. If you hold on to a ring forever, and never feel quite right about giving it, then maybe it's not the right relationship! I don't know what you're going to do about Karen finding that ring.
I love Roman Holiday. Fantastic movie.
Author's Response: That's right. Jim thinks he saw Pam, but why would Pam be in Rome, right? Pam is the only one who's made the complete connection of the two of them. ITA about holding onto the ring. Very true- and that will certainly play a part in the next chapter. Thanks so much for reading and for reviewing- you've be awesome!

The only time I read fic is in the middle of the night. The reason for this is that my day is usually filled with things to do. When I don't have anything pending my boyfriend is usually in the room and I don't want him to think I'm crazy for reading as much fic as I do. So last night I read your story at 2 am..i can't believe Karen found the ring!! I seriously logged on to A) check for updates and B) tell you how much I enjoy your writing.
Author's Response: Wow! Very incognito of you! LOL Thank you so much for reading (even at 2am!) and for reviewing. I really love hearing what people think. Thanks so very much!

My little heart is broken! Wow I'm totally dramatic but my heart felt like it stopped for a second when he saw Pam by the fountain. I seriously felt like that moment during beach games when Pam tells Jim that she misses their friendship. I gasped during that moment any my heart was racing ....that my friend is what your fic does to me. Great job.
Author's Response: As evil as this is probably going to sound- I love that it almost made your heart stop. Why? Because that's exactly what I hoped readers would feel when they read that. I'm so grateful to have such amazing readers like yourself who leave such awesome feedback. Thank you so much!

I felt like in this chapter you've really made the city a character if that makes sense. I loved Pam's interaction with the Mouth of Truth. Again, love the pics at the end. Great job!
Author's Response: Wow!!! That had to be the most amazing compliment I have received. Thank you so much... I'm just completely stunned by your review. Thank you!!!

Yikes, she found the ring. Can't wait to see what happens next! My brother was in both Paris and Rome recently so it is fun to be reading two great stories about both cities and hearing about some of the places he told me about. Real life imitating art or something like that.
Author's Response: That's quite the coincidence! Thanks so much for the awesome feedback- thanks for reading and reviewing :)

You know what the funny thing is? Of all the cities in Europe I have been to (so far) Rome has always ranked as my least favorite one. But this story had made me really want to go back! Especially if I was on vacay with one Mr. James Halpert. ;) You are doing a wonderful job, I can't wait for more! *cough*twss*cough*
Author's Response: Hee!! I'm so glad that I could make you love Rome. You have to go to the city when it's quiet (which is August, cause everyone is on vacation)- but there are certainly things I didn't like about the city... but it is the home of romance, right? Wouldn't we ALL want to go on vacay with Jim? Hehehe. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

You totally wrote about my favorite part of Rome! :D I adore the Palatino.
In any case, another fabulous chapter that just leaves me desperately itching for more!!!
Author's Response: Well then that makes two of us! The Palatino is like this amazing place to discover- so much fun. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Date: June 14, 2007 06:34 pm Title: Chapter 6: Flying
Ahhh!!! When are those two going to run into each other?? Especially when they've both seen each other? Every chapter I hope it's the one....and then it's not and I anxiously await another chapter...can't wait to finally read it when it happens (it will happen...right??). And you've made me want to go to Rome...sigh...
Author's Response: Never fear- it will happen... soon *cough*hint*cough* Thanks so much for the feedback and for reading :)

I love this story! I literally can't wait until you post again! The details are so vivid and I love picturing Jim and Pam in Italy. I can't wait to see how this turns out!!
Author's Response: Aw! Thanks so much! I'm happy to hear you're enjoying the story. Thank you for the awesome compliments. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Date: June 14, 2007 05:43 pm Title: Chapter 6: Flying
Oh no! Karen found the ring! What is Jim going to do!? And poor Pam... horrible place to end the chapter! ;) What suspense!
Can't wait for the next update. Loving your descriptions of Rome and the art and architecture.
Author's Response:
Such awesome compliments! Thank you!!! Yes, I'm evil like a hobbit to leave the chapter hanging where I did... ;-) I'm excited to hear such amazing feedback about the details, so thank you for noticing- it really means the world to me!
Date: June 14, 2007 05:34 pm Title: Chapter 6: Flying
This was an awesome chapter! References to the Coliseum (which impressed me so much in real life, although one of my most distinct memories of seeing it was the crazy number of cats that lived in it! LOL) & to Roman Holiday, one of the best movies ever. But Karen found the ring! Ack.
Author's Response:
You know the first time I went to Coliseum there was a HUGE amount of cats- like completely over run with them. But the most recent time I was there- I didn't see even one.... very strange. I'm glad you liked the chapter- thanks so much for reading and reviewing!
Date: June 14, 2007 05:34 pm Title: Chapter 6: Flying
OMG OMG OMG! Your details about Rome are just amazing. Really. And I am on the EDGE of my seat for the next chapter! But you knew that already...
Author's Response: Oh wow!!! Thanks so much for the fabulous review lisahoo! It's my pleasure (cue evil laugh) to keep you on the edge of your seat. ;-)
Date: June 14, 2007 05:30 pm Title: Chapter 6: Flying
OK, so, this is wonderful. And awful, because- ACK! She found the ring! Noooo! But mostly wonderful, particularly because it references one of my all-time favorite movies, Roman Holiday. Love the tension you're building, here, but how you keep it grouinded in the setting. It's like a "very special episode". Hee. I mean that in a good way...
Author's Response: Oooh I'm glad you mentioned the idea of "a very special episode" because in my head I was totally thinking "you know, they could totally do an Office episode in Rome..." LOL Only good things can come from Karen finding the ring... right...? ;-) Thanks so much for the awesome compliments!
Date: June 14, 2007 05:27 pm Title: Chapter 6: Flying
Woo hoo Roman Holiday!!!! I just love that movie and I'm so glad that you brought it up. I'm an art history grad student, but I haven't been to Rome...so sad. You are killing me with all these wonderful details.
Author's Response: Oh wow!!! I hope I'm doing the art justice in your books. Thanks so much for tha amazing compliments- thank you for reading and reviewing :)

I admit it -
I so thought of this story as I read this news report:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070613/od_nm/italy_steps_dc;_ylt=AqjK8VZrdfeMk_kMOIO.X0QSH9EA
SEE! Its insane. I read a story about Rome, and I think of fic... sad, I know. But at least its not so insane, since those were mentioned, right? So, its not horribly sad. Just a general pathetic sad.
So, mentioning the Coliseum reminded me that I did take three years of Latin, and actually studied a lot about Rome... but, I don't remember much except... nah, lets just stick with I don't remember much. I do remember opening lines of a speech I had to memorize. But no idea what it means. Just the sounds. I don't even know if I could remember words, I just remember the series of sounds.
Now Pam knows Jim is there.... :D!!!!!!! YOWZA!
But Karen found the engagement ring! yowza for a whole different reason. Seriously, my face like fell when i read that.
And Pam couldn't face the mouth. Although even though I just read the story, when I wrote that, it made me think of a bad sci-fi movie or something.
Author's Response: That article was hilarious! Those steps are crazy steep! I can't even fathom how he managed to drive down the steps- drunk or not! But I don't think it's sad that you think of fic when you hear about Rome- I'm pretty certain that if I ever go back to Rome, I'm afraid I'm going to go to places because it's a "JAM hotspot!" LOL Thanks so much for the awesome review!

Dude this is just too long without them meeting face to face. I hope it happens in the next chapter...can't wait!!
Author's Response: All in good time ;-) Your wish may just come true...
Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!
Date: June 14, 2007 04:45 pm Title: Chapter 6: Flying
damn pam you should have shouted hello! why are you being such a chicken! another awsome chapter! i love roman holiday so that part of it was awsome too...and i have to say i LOVE the detail you put into describing these things...did you like stay in rome or something? so he say her she saw him now when do they see each other? ahhh...already impatient for the next chapter!
Author's Response:
Ah, but it wouldn't be Pam to call out to him, would it? ;-) Yay! A Roman Holiday fan! The film is great (and I'm certainly not a B&W film fan, that's for sure). Thank you so much for the wonderful compliments on my writing. I have been to Rome twice- once in high school and again about 2 years ago, so it's exciting for me to hear that people are appreciating the little details I put in about the sites. Thank you so very much for reading and reviewing!

This keeps getting better and better. It's very impressive how much research and effort you've put into this story. Great job!
Author's Response: Wow! Thanks so much. The research was just a blast since I'm such a history geek- a ton of fun and actually pretty interesting (for me anyway! LOL). Thanks for reviewing and for reading my chapters. You've been so awesome rec'ing my fic at TWoP!
Date: June 14, 2007 04:21 pm Title: Chapter 6: Flying
My god, another amazing chapter -- love what you do with the Mouth of Truth here. And OMG OMG OMG -- Karen and the ring! Seriously - if I hadn't beta'd this already and was forced to just wait for updates, I'd be DYING. No, actually - I'd be hounding you endlessly. This is so amazing!
Author's Response: You are awesome. Hotmail is not. (perhaps all my smartmouthing hotmail is making it get revenge on me?) Thanks so much for all your help. ooh! I almost forgot: Vada a godersi le vacanze!
Date: June 12, 2007 06:23 am Title: Chapter 5: Which One Will The Fountain Bless?
Oh Jim. I wanted him to rush to Pam so badly but then this wonderful story couldn't continue
Author's Response: Aww!! I know, right? Thanks so much for the lovely feedback.
Date: June 12, 2007 06:19 am Title: Chapter 4: The Way You Feel Inside
Love all the sights in rome. Brings back great memories.
Author's Response: Wow! Thanks so much. Rome brings back some awesome memories for me too. I'm not sure if after this fic I'm going to be able to look at it the same way! LOL Now I'll always think of JAM and Rome together (I'm such a dork!) Thanks so much for your feedback and for reading :)
