So I saw When in Rome this last weekend, and ever since then I've been dying to reread your story. Now that I finally have time, I'm excited. It's still just as good as I remember. :)

I LOVED LOVED LOVED this story.
Like another reviewer mentioned, I like how you have kept the characters realistic. I like it more when I can relate to them as the Pam and Jim we've gotten to know through the series, and you encapsulated that.
The facebook thing was great. I so know what it means to wait for that "special someone's" profile to show up( mine hasn't shown up yet, but I'm optimistic)
I love Italy and Roma and I am always sceptical when someone choses to use it as a backdrop, seeing Roma is a character in herself. You use Roma as if you're in a dialogue with her and it gives the story so much.
I particularly liked the part where Jim was standing in the sixtine chapel thinking about Pam. And the Bocca della Verita` piece was so good, both with Pam alone and with them together. I also loved the picture with the petals falling around them as they first meet.
Bottom line: A great story!
Author's Response:
Oh wow!! Thank you for the wonderful (bellismo!) review. You are so generous in your compliments-- thank you!! I have to say that you picked all my favourite bits as your own, which warms my heart. There were times where I would be completely lost in the story, imagining (perhaps) myself as Rome watching them come together. It was such a treat to write this fic. The story really moved me, and I'm glad to see people feel connected to it and felt that it was genuinely realistic. Again, thank you so much for the lovely review.

I just wanted to tell you that I registered in order to review this story. Amazing writing, impressive references. It was enjoyable to read mature writing that captures human nature so well-fan fiction is a guilty pleasure of mine but I am often put off by how unrealistic characters are developed-not the case in this piece. Oh, yes, and excellent Italian. I felt as if I was back in Rome again. Thank you so much for submitting this story it was such a pleasure to read.
Author's Response: What an amazing compliment. It's always fantastic to see that people are still reading this story even though I wrote it so long ago. It was truly a labour of love, so I'm really excited to know that people enjoyed it so much. Thank you for the beautiful review. I really appreciate it. :))

Che belleza! Questa, veramente, era perfecto. :)
All your descriptions of Rome made me so happy. I love the way that Jim and Pam came together. And - here's a sort of embarrassing admission - I squeed in happiness when you wrote "panino" instead of "panini." Lamely enough, the unnecessary pluralization of that word is one of my biggest pet peeves.
Author's Response: Wow! It's incredible to receive such an amazing review... especially considering this was my first forray into Jam fanfic. Thank you for the generous comments about my descriptions of Rome. As for the Italian- it was my heavy reliance on my own Lonely Planet phrasebook that helped me with panino. LOL Again, mille grazie for the awesome review!

I think I probably already reviewed this chapter. But I had to come back and read this story again today because I just had this experience on facebook last night. Luckily, I've only been waiting for a few months, but then last night there he was! So that, combined with the premiere, meant yesterday was a very, very, very good day! :D
Thanks again for such a great chapter/story! It's still good on reread!
Author's Response: Wow!! What an exciting day. :) As I think I mentioned in the story notes, I had an "encounter" on Facebook and really Pam's feelings were truly my own when I "found" him. Albeit he was no Jim and certainly acted like a Roy when I knew him, however the residual feelings had been lingering and I'd been wondering "what if" for a while. I'm glad you experienced what Pam did, and hopefully he's a Jim ;-) Thanks for the review (again! :)

YAY!!! This makes me happy. And I love seeing them all cute and happy and everything. I've really enjoyed your story!
Author's Response:
I love to hear that people have enjoyed reading my story. Thank you so very much for reading it, hanging out for the ride and (of course) for leaving feedback! Grazie!!

Awww...I loved the new take on "Jim and Pam confess their feelings". Very nicely done.
Author's Response: Yay! I'm happy to hear you liked my version of their confession and reunion. Thanks so much for the review!

First of all, have I mentioned how much I love the title for this chapter? Love. It.
Second of all, I am (seriously) honored to have been your beta on this -- not because I gave significant input (other than banging on the keyboard and calling you a comma whore), but because it's such an amazing piece of work. Absolutely amazing.
And I'm already chomping at the bit at the way your next story is shaping up....
Author's Response: I almost forgot to reply to this *slaps own hand* I really like the chapter title as well- those Goo Goo Dolls certainly know their way around the words. Thank you for letting me be your apprentice and for putting up with my comma whore-ness. Seriously. I must be a pain in the butt. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!! And your final piece of Italian: Occorre una guida. Yah, I ran out of Italian to use... LOL

Ahhhh. So, so adorable. Jim dancing with little old ladies? You've killed me with sweetness.
Congratulations on a beautiful, beautiful piece.
Author's Response: Eeee! Sending a dentist your way! LOL Thank you for the awesome review and for reading my story. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it.

Brava! *claps wildly*
I hate to see it end, but yay! for them finally being wildly happy together. As it should be. :) Thanks for a great read, I really enjoyed the ride and look forward to your next.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for the awesome compliments. It's exciting to hear that people enjoyed the story and the adventure I took Jam on. Thank you for reading and thank you for taking the time to review!

I loved this story because hey, it's a great story but I love that part of it was set in Buffalo. It was cool to like hear of places that I drive by all the time. great story.
Author's Response: I love hearing from all the Buffalo people! YAY! Glad to hear you enjoyed the story. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing.

Hey. Someone in NorthernAttack recommended that we read your story here, and tonight I did. Wow. This is a great read. I read the whole thing in one sitting, and loved every chapter. Thanks for writing this.
Author's Response: Wow! I'm quite flattered. Thank you for cruising over here and taking a chance on my story- I really appreciate that. I'm so excited to hear that you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing.
Date: July 02, 2007 06:57 pm Title: Chapter 9: Epilogue (The World Begins Again)
I'm sad to see this story ending, but it was the perfect length. I really loved all of the details, about Pam's work, about Rome. Sometimes fanfic that includes such detail is more of a litany of "Look what I've done!" But you struck the perfect balance, of being detailed without being boring.
I really loved how you told the story from both Pam and Jim's point of views - it was always clear (in voice and tone) who was "speaking". I just love this whole thing. Seriously! I smiled far too much reading this. Thank you.
Author's Response: Thank you for the lovely compliments. I was sad to see the end of WiR.. but you're right- I felt that the story had run its course to a perfect point. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the details and that the voices rang true for you. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. Glad I made you smile :)

Thanks for this story, and for allowing us all to take a trip to Italy with Jim and Pam! I work at a Senior Center, so I especially like that touch. There are seriously feuds about the weirdest stuff so I love that detail!!
Author's Response: Thank you for the fantastic review. I'm exicted to hear that the Senior's "dance" was authentic to you. Thank you so much for reading and for reviewing.

That was awesome. I really loved the flashbacks and the fact that they finally got together. I was a little surprised that they would go three months without seeing each other, but I was so happy when they finally did. Although, I'll admit a little piece of me was sad to see Jim leave Scranton and the rest of the office workers.
This was an excellent story though. And I had so much fun looking at all of your pictures and bonus presents at the end of each chapter! Thanks for writing it.
Author's Response: I'd worried about the 3 months apart, but with both their schedules and the way I'd hoped to end it- I had to work it that way. Made for a bigger surprise, right? ;-) Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. I loved sharing Rome, so I'm happy to hear that people enjoyed it too.

Okay, I was not prepared for this to be the last chapter, but it was everything I wanted and more! It was so cute how Jim sent her showercaps....actually everything about Jim in this chapter was awesome. Dancing with senior citizens? Leaving crazy directions? Speaking Italian? Awesome, awesome, awesome!!!
I'm so sad this story is over, but it's one of my favorites and I can't wait to read more from you!
Author's Response: Wow! I'm happy to hear that you liked the way I characterized Jim in this chapter. I'd hoped that it would come off correctly as a Jim-type trait. Thank you for the awesome compliments and for reading. I'm looking forward to writing more as well.
Date: July 02, 2007 04:30 pm Title: Chapter 9: Epilogue (The World Begins Again)
So beautiful! It's a wonderful ending, although I'm sad to see it end.
Also, I totally won't deny that I think of Jim and Pam every single time I listen to Everything. :)
Author's Response: Thank you so much for the lovely review. I absolutely can't get enough of "Everything" so I had to add it into the chapter. LOL Thank you for reading and for the awesome comments.

Seriously, this fic has given me trouble reading. Well, not this fic, but okay, so, I get home (FiNALLY), and I see it was updated. But first I had to type a really long post. And then I had to check email and other crap. And then my internet went out. And then my mom got home. And then the electrician came (actually he is here now)... and FINALLY... I can read it. Which makes me happy. (oh the fact that this is the end doesn't make me happy, but oh well).
Oh, Better Days, such a good song.
Gah, those last days just sound romantic as crap!!!! Except that crap isn't romantic. Okay, you, the writer, think of a better analogy... because, um, yea, not happening from me.
Oooh! Sara! Sorry, that is another nickname of mine. I get insanely happy for such stupid reasons.
I love those directions. It is so sweet and funny. And McFlurrys - so delicious it isn't even funny.
Elma... why does that sound familiar? I kinda think I have a relative that lives there or is some how related to my family in some way. Either that or I am being stupid. But, I will claim the first, because there is no way you will ever know whether or not I have family/friends there. So there.
Michael Buble’s - yeah, so I read that as Michael's Bubbles. Which was a really weird image.
He transfered. He transferred!!!!! And taking classes. And a house!!! Seriously, um, I have a coathanger in my mouth my smile is so huge (so a really twisted friends quote). This was such a great story. Seriously. Amazing in so many ways.
Author's Response: Well you should take the coathanger out of your mouth, cause it might stay like that ;-) I'm happy to hear that you were finally able to access the story and that you loved it. Thanks for your awesome reviews- they are absolutely hilarious to read. And of course, thank you for reading!

I really enjoyed reading this story! I have been lurking around on this site for months now, but it's this story that has caused me to finally register and start participating. As someone who is from the Buffalo area, I just love how Jim is going to Canisius and working for Dunder Mifflin Buffalo! Also, I loved all your details about Rome. I hope you keep writing more stories. I will definitely read them!
Author's Response: Hee!! I love hearing from the Buffalo peeps. I didn't go to Canisius myself (it was a cop-out to avoid revealing the school I actually went to, LOL- but I'm sure you could figure it out from the area I wrote about.) I hope I did Buffalo (and Rome for that matter) justice. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and to review my story. It means the world to me.
P.S. Did you know that in the actual "canon" of the show, there is a D-M, Buffalo branch? It always makes me giggle to think that maybe Jim might make a trip to the Buffalo branch in the TV show...

This part made me laugh:
"Pick me up a McFlurry if you choose to not to turn right.”
This was a perfect conclusion to a wonderful story. You really did a terrific job on this whole thing. It's definitely one of the best fanfic stories I've read. I can't wait to see what you will work on next!
Author's Response:
I'm excited to hear that you enjoyed the story. Thank you for the wonderful messages you've left here and at TWoP, I truly appreciate them.

I'm so sad this is over. I wanted them to stay in Rome forever. I hope you'll start another one soon to fill the void. Awesome job on the entire endeavour. Bravo!
Author's Response: You and me both... Thank you for reading. I'm currently working on something right now- it's a bit of a departure from the "travel fic" that is "WiR" though... so hopefully it works out. Thanks so much reviewing!
Date: July 02, 2007 12:41 pm Title: Chapter 9: Epilogue (The World Begins Again)
EEEE!!!! :D
I'm so, so sad that it's finished, but it was such a wonderful ending! I giggled like crazy at this line: "When Pam had stopped midway-- short of breath in part from laughing for most of it-- he’d jogged back to her insisting she continue.
“You’re finishing this race Beesly. Emperors don’t like quitters!”" SO funny!! And the "Did the moon hit your eye?..." bit was really, really great too. :)
And the ending! EEEE! My heart swelled and I happily clapped like the big, sentimental, crazy person that I am.
Anyway, thank you for a wonderful, wonderful story! I'll really be looking forward to whatever you might write in the future! :)
Author's Response: *blushing* Wow! Thank you so much. I'm glad you liked the ended- it's always hard to gage as a writer how things will be perceived (I mean, I've looked at the thing a hundred-billion times so the effect is always lost on me)- so to hear that it works and that you enjoyed it, completely makes my day! Thank you for your kind reviews and for reading. (Am working on a new fic now... hopefully it will live up to its Roman brother...) ;-)
