This story has made me really appreciate being a girl and not having to deal with the whole proposal thing. I would feel really bad for Jim if I didn't enjoy reading about his silent torture so much!
Author's Response: Glad you are enjoying it, bealsa!! At least he already has the girl, right - even if the ring is still in the drawer. ;-)

Haha....that's a tough choice: sex or proposal. Of course proposing at any DM event is a bold choice but would be appropriate given their history. Very much anticipating the actual proposal...
Author's Response:
Yes, he should have known better - but the boy's in love. ;-)
Hang in there - I hope the one that works makes us all happy...!

Awww....poor Jim. I can't imagine getting finally ready to do it and then having the win blown from your sails like that. And love the irony of buying the ring the day before the 4th.
Author's Response: Thanks, flamingos! Jim, I think, is such a romantic deep down - and he's trying his best to express that. Things aren't going as easily as he'd hoped though! Thanks for reading and reviewing!!

Aww! Oh, well, it was pretty silly of Jim to plan anything with Dwight and Michael around! When Jim sent Dwight and Michael into the haymaze, I just assumed he and Pam wouldn't go in at all. You know, "Sure, I'll meet you at the playground after school so we can fight. But if I'm not there, start without me."
Author's Response: Haha - yes, that would probably have been a better idea, but Jim's an optimist. Maybe he'll get it right next time. ;-)

I wanna have sex with Jim in a corn maze... wait?! Who said that?!
Author's Response: So it's true - corn is a an aphrodisiac. Because you'd NEVER say anything like that otherwise. ;-)

God, I'm loving this story. Poor Jim.
Author's Response: hee - I'm so glad!! :-) Thanks for reviewing.

ok, seriously... what was Jim thinking? he turned down sex with PAM in a cornfield, b/c he was so preoccupied with proposing... and then he didn't even do it! propose that is... anyway, i really enjoyed this b/c it was hilarious, but i can already see the tortured Jim coming through. I'm ready to suffer with him as long as i'm promised a happy ending, simply b/c i enjoy your writing so much :)
Author's Response:
yes, I'm so mean to Jim. But it will all work out in the end. I think. ;-)
Thanks for reading!!

Really fun story. You capture the sweet (and the saucy) so well. Looking forward to more.
Author's Response:
I'm happy you are enjoying it - I enjoy writing trying-to-hard!Jim. And imagine Pam's reaction when she hears about all the missed opportunities!
Thanks for reading and reviewing - I really appreciate it.

Tsk, tsk, naughty Pam (heh). This is so cute, and poor Jim's frustration is palpable. Nice again! (This is no surprise!)
Author's Response: Yes, I couldn't resist making Pam the instigator in this one. She is the new Pam and going after what she wants, after all. ;-) Thanks for reading along!

dammit dwight! Oh I can feel the frustration that is going to eat away at me for the next two chapters.
the ending will be even sweeter that way. :)
Author's Response: you can feel the frustration? Jim's going to end up just chucking the ring at Pam's head after two more of these!! Thanks for the review!

Great story! I really like how each attempted proposal is romantic, without being cheesy or schmaltzy. You also do a great job setting the scene, adding so much detail that, as the reader,it feels like I'm there actually witnessing this all going down. Can't wait for the next update!!
Author's Response: Thanks, Cricket! I am trying very hard to make the situations seem believable, even though the idea that he could have it go wrong 4 times does seem to stretch credibility. But it's just a testament of Jim's patience!! :-) Thanks for the review!

wow... i really love this. it's so funny to think that Jim's planning and things are keeping him from proposing. you're right, these two never do things the easy way. :) i'm really looking forward to seeing where you take this moxie. you haven't disappointed in the past :)
Author's Response: aw, so glad you are enjoying it, rulesofjinx!! Chapter 2 is on its way......

Oh, poor Jim! Looking forward to Jim's future thwarted attempts and his one success.
I love that Jim has a ring so quickly. I think this is just how he would act!
Author's Response:
hee - me too! He's a man on a mission. :-)
Thanks for the review!

Poor Jim! At least we all know he is good at waiting. This is absolutley lovely. The moment they share before Jim goes back for the ring is beautiful!
Author's Response:
aw - thanks! This is all just an excuse for me to find new fluffy ways for Jim to show how much he loves her. (And she him, of course!)
No such thing as too much fluff!

This line was great - "So he bought a symbol of his permanent attachment to her, on the day before the national holiday celebrating independence." That is so Jim not to want to steal the spotlight from Emily. Can't wait to read the next one.
Author's Response: Yeah, Jim's a bit of a girl like that, isn't he?? (That's why I love him so!) Thanks for reading and reviewing!

oooh.. that's a tough break for our boy Jim! Maybe his next attempt will prove more successful. By the title, I'm guess not. ;)

That is a nice bench! Poor Jim, if he had just been carrying the ring around with him, it would have been perfect.
Author's Response:
I know - I'd love to see a sunset from that location!! :-)
Jim will hopefully learn from his mistakes, if he's not too busy making new ones.... Thanks for the review!

I'm so ecited that there are four more parts! And if this is how happy I am after he DOESN'T propose, I know the last chapter is going to be fantastic!
This is just great!
Author's Response: Haha - no pressure then, right?? Thanks for reviewing, McGigi!!

Oooh, poor Jim. I like the quiet, hopeful tone you strike here. Very nice, very nice!
Author's Response: Thank, Lis - I feel a bit mean doing this to Jim, but I just can't believe it would go that easy for him, either.....
