Questionforyou, I've been obsessed with this fic since discovering it via rec in the forum. Stellar job. Really beautiful. And thanks for the happy ending :)

Um, I'd review this but that would require actually putting some words together to make sense... I'm speechless. This just has me thankful the story is finished so I can keep reading. Wow. Just. Wow. Better comments later, promise :)

I don't even know what to say, really - except this. In the West Wing fandom, someone did a really great "Eternal Sunshine" fic, and I toyed with the idea of doing it for Jim & Pam - but you absolutely blew this out of the water. This is an astonishing fic, really complex, that honors both the movie and the show so well. I was shocked at times, and wowed at times, and just overall really impressed with the story and your writing. Congrats! This is fabulous.

"That had to be the most unromantic proposal ever." So true, but I think she'll get over it! This has been a really excellent story, and I really like how you integrated the characters into the movie plot. Nicely done.
Author's Response: Thanks, lisahoo, for sticking with the story all the way through! It's been a pleasure to write, and I'm glad ya'll enjoyed it. :)

I love the unfinished house, the extended flashback to the designing and their "9.0 earthquake", and that ending was unexpected and awesome!

ooh Roy & Karen getting their memories erased, interesting! I heart your version of ESOTSM too so much questionforyou I love how different our stories have become yet they're based on the same premise. So great. My favorite line:
He props himself up on the palms of his hands and touches his forehead to hers. “Pam, I’m happy… believe me, I’m happy about this, but… you’re not going to go back, are you? Back to him? Because… I think that might kill me.”
Gah! So angsty and desperate and sad but soooo good. I hope that this time things go much better for them. *hopes* Also be on the lookout for more of my version (hopefullysoon) hope you enjoyed it! I know i like yours too :) let me know if you ever need any help with the epilogue or anything. Great job!!

Oh, so sad. Hope Pam sent him a strong enough message by chucking the files out of the cab window.
Can't wait to see how this all ends!
Author's Response: I hope so, too! I just love the mental image of her tossing all of those papers into the wind.

More!
Author's Response: On its way, I promise :)

Wow, that was sad. Believable, but sad. I can understand how that might be hard to deal with, all that coming back suddenly.
Author's Response: I know. Poor Jim. At least he's got his sketches... and a long car ride home with Karen.

one more??? only one more?? ahhhhhh what will happen! I saw this going on forever! I'm on the edge of my seat!
Author's Response: You know, I sort of don't want it to end either! : ) But I always saw this story arc finishing after Chapter 10, so we'll see how that pans out. Glad the story's holding your interest!!

Wonderful story. It's my absolute fave on here! Love it. Props on the great characterizations!!!
Author's Response: Thanks, JinRain!! Glad you think the characterizations were on-point; I thought a lot about how I could get them right. Keep on readin'! :)

I caught up with this story yesterday for the first time, and I'm hooked. So I squealed with joy when I saw that there was another update. This story is so amazing. I've never seen "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", which is why I had hesitated for so long to read this. But now I'm so glad I have.
I love that little backstory you added in that Jim and Pam had had an affair and fell in love way before we know of them to have first met each other at Dunder Mifflin, and then had their memories erased.
I'm on the edge of my seat looking forward to more!

You've really done a great job with this story. It gets better and better.

This is sooo good!!!!!!! Why can't Jim and Pam see they're meant to be? What will happen next?

This is really marvelously done. You are a superb writer and I love how well you've intertwined three different realities. Bravo! This is going on my favorites list.
Author's Response: Thanks so much, Shassafrass. I appreciate it and am glad to hear you're enjoying the story!

Interesting, I like how you pulled all of this together. Something tells me they might just end up together...
Author's Response: You might just be right about that. :)

Wonderful! I'm glad the truth is finally coming out. I find it *fascinating* that they'd known each other before and erased that too. In an earlier chapter, when Pam had a flashback to being with Jim, I'd wondered to myself, "when did that happen?" but now it's all so clear. Very cool! I was also beginning to wonder when Pam was going to get around to asking Jim his name! That might have cleared things up a bit earlier!
Author's Response: Thank you! I, too, love the idea that they'd somehow known each other before working together. And I know, Pam should've really asked him his name, but I felt like that would've gotten confusing from a writer's perspective. ("And then, Jim did this. And then, the other Jim said this.") But now they've got all the information - now they just have to figure out what to do with it. :)

oh man! double erase! this story is sooo good
Author's Response: Thanks for reading! :)

Good job with the not-so-improbable pre D-M backstory.
I love the diner scene, where they still "know" each other so well and are in tune with each other. And how hearing about Karen somehow bothers Pam.
One more chapter? Boohoo. Happy ending, yes?
Author's Response:
Thanks! I couldn't wait to write this chapter; I really, really liked the idea of Pam and Jim getting along so well and being so connected at D/M because they had known each other before.
Yes, probably just one more chapter; maybe two, tops. And hopefully you'll all like the ending :)

Oooooh a twist!!! I love it!!! I'll say it again, write novels! Please! You've got the verbal skills and the creativity!
Also: my married 40-something mother met Rhett Miller (and by met, I mean she saw him walking around after the show and said hi to him and that was it) a week or so ago and she's been going on about it like a lovesick teenager ever since. But I love that song. My fiance proposed to me at the park, perhaps because of it, so it has special significance to me now. :)
Author's Response: That's so cute about your mom and Rhett Miller. I saw him at the Hiro Ballroom in NYC, which is a pretty small venue, but I was close enough to see that he's actually a very good-looking guy! And his songs are great too, which is a plus, of course. :) That's very sweet about your fiance and the tie-in with the song. It's perfect! :)
