So excuse me while I get a bit philosophical on you (it'll only take a moment), but here's the thing about your writing: I read your stuff, and I always, always enjoy it because you nail the subtleties and the nuances that define Jim & Pam and make them who/what they are (read: near mythical entity in so many of our minds), but the other thing that's truly amazing about your writing is that - as a fellow writer - when I read your stuff, it makes me want to go write. Because you set the bar so high that it almost gives me something to aspire to, if that makes any sense. You write so well, and everything's just so organic that it's absolutely inspiring.
...My long way of saying that this is so amazing, and I'm thrilled that you're doing it. I hope it goes on for several more chapters...five, ten, seventy...

Barn Dance? Is that what we're calling it now?
This has a bit of the flavor of the Initiation phone call, which was one of my fave moments in the show - like that magic current between them on the phone is its own time and space - so intimate and sexy, in such a subliminal way (and then bubbles to the surface in the very last section - took me and Jim both a minute to get her implication; then it was like a hot flash - but in a good way, LOL.) Great dialogue, always love hearing about Jim as a kid - something so indescribably sweet about that image. Also like his momentary gullibility re: her cat's name (kind of like Karen's Cocktails prank, only w/o the implicit mind-fuck.) Yup, still loving this....

I don't think it should end at all. Fantastic job. You wrote them both perfectly. Love fancy Beesley and near-naked Jim. But if I had to vote, maybe the smut could be saved until they see eachother again. What can I say, I'm a little old fashion, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy some good smut.
