I absolutely love this story and was hoping you'd do the whole summer. Just wonderful. d84;a039;d84;a039;d84;a039;

Can't believe I've never read this! It was really well written and I love to peak in the lives of our favorite DM employees through the eyes of a third person.

I've loved the whole thing- very well-drawn characters, which couldn't have been easy in this format. I must say, I was a bit of a Sunny/Rabbi Aaron 'shipper (she could get a new counsellor, right? Hee), but I'm happy that she's found a friend in Creed. I am declaring this experiment a success- I'm just sad it is over!
Author's Response: Well, it's not like Sunny could have any kind of future with Creed--he's dead, remember? For tax purposes, anyway (see Product Recall deleted scene). So maybe Sunny will have a chance with Rabbi Aaron after all. Thanks for hanging in with this experiment. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed this experiment. I found it so interesting to see how you could flesh out not only familiar characters, but original characters through letters alone. I really came to care for Sunny and her life and always enjoyed her observations. I'm really glad you shared this with us.
Author's Response: Sunny became surprisingly real to me, too. Possibly she was just a MarySue, expressing my deeply hidden desire to hang out with Creed? Yeah, I need more sleep. Anyway, I'm glad you liked this. It was fun.

Hah -- Kelly hitting on Dwight & then Kandy! Nice! Glad to see something promising on the horizon for Sunny ;o)
Author's Response: Thanks! Glad you liked the bit with Kelly, the poor girl. Thanks for reviewing, lisahoo!

I really enjoy sunny's letters. I'm never a big fan of original characters but I really like her. and can i say creed is too funny:
Creed called me "Sunny" today. I'm pretty sure it was accidental.
too too funny!!
Author's Response: Thanks! Yeah, original characters can be an iffy proposition; glad this worked for you!

I think it worked just fine! I've enjoyed this unique approach to telling the Office stories right from the start. And this last chapter was great. I love that Sunny and Creed went on a date to a "burning man"---sort of. Great characterization all around, and a fabulous way to end this.
Good job!
Author's Response: Thanks, Cuz. Part of me wanted to continue Sunny on through Season Four, to get her behind-the-scenes view at Dunder Mifflin, but there are already enough writers doing that that I felt it best to wrap this up, so to speak. And I'd always wanted her to get together with her rock star. So thanks for reading and reviewing!

So good to have Sunny back!
Author's Response: Thanks!

Yay! Another chapter. I had given up. I'm glad Sunny had a setback, did make her seem more real.
Poor Sunny - I'm surprised seeing Dwangela in action didn't set her back again. But again, good characterization, even though we're not seeing the in action firsthand. You're doing a great job conveying what's going on, despite it coming through Sunny's eyes.
Looking forward to future chapters.
Author's Response: Sorry to make you wait. Part of me wants this story to unfold in "real time", like The Office, but maybe I'm better off finishing it more quickly. Thanks for your feedback!

I really love that Sunny cares so much about other people. Such a good person. And especially that she truly loves kids and seems to enjoy helping them.
Can't wait to learn more about her!
Author's Response: Oo! Thank you! I'm glad you like her, but I'm worried that she's too good. Maybe I need to make her kick a puppy? :D Thanks so much for your comments, desert island.

Oooh. Todd Packer is the worst asshole of all time. And so sad that the condoms aren't there for any good, fluffy reason. Still, this was exceptionally well-written, and I'm very glad you updated. I am almost unnaturally interested in the adventures of this character that you've created to add to the DM universe.
Author's Response: Thanks! Yes, sad to say, the condoms are non-fluffy. But there's more fluffy in the offing, so don't despair. Thanks for reviewing!

Kind of on the fly here, but just wanted to say that I was really glad to come home this evening and see you'd updated. Typically not a big fan of non-canon characters (too often Mary Sues or just plain 'off' in the context of the show) but Sunny is so well fleshed out and relatable, that I can almost forget she's not actually part of TO universe (actually? How meta is that?) And, as usual, you have a great take on Creed (that's a compliment, I swear.) Liking this perspective. More soon, I hope.
Author's Response: Busted! Yes, Sunny is totally a Mary Sue. Because I want to become a cleaning lady at Dunder Mifflin so I can stalk Creed. How pathetic is that? :D Thanks for reviewing, Colette. I always appreciate your comments.

Thanks for the new chapter. It's another great one. I love your version of Creed and the way he saved Sunny from Todd. Ugh, Todd. Makes me wonder how he used those missing condoms.
How are you enjoying this experiment? Will you keep writing new chapters (she asks, hopefully)? FWIW, it's my favorite story of yours.
Author's Response: I'm enjoying this a lot, and though it may not look like it, I do have a destination in mind so there will definitely be more chapters, and a final chapter. It's rather loose, however, and I find odd little things creeping in here and there, like the fact that Creed drives different cars to work every day and knows the Mayor. But there's more to come, for sure. Thanks so much for the kind words, TVB!

I was so happy to see another chapter! You have such a vivid imagination.
Author's Response: Thanks! Glad to see there is a good use for this wild imagination.

Haven't checked in yet. Love the letter format, love a good recovery story (you hear that Britney, LiLo) and love that she is completely enamoured with Creed. I really hope that in the end she uses her documentary money to open a cookie shop.
Author's Response: Thanks, f_o_l! I think things will get more ... complicated before they get simpler. :-) And who isn't smitten with Creed? Rock star, baby!

You have done such a great job writing this I really feel like I know Sunny now. I felt her pain when she briefly talked about her loss. Great job!!
Author's Response: Thanks so very much! I am glad you are enjoying this story. I like this character a lot.

Still loving this unique view of things! It's nice to know that we're not the only ones who were frustrated with Jim and Pam during seasons 2 and 3!
(Also, it may be a simple typo, but if Michael put 500 minus 150 equals 350, not 250.)
Keep up the good work! :)
Author's Response: Looks like I'm no better than Michael at math. Thanks for the catch; I'll correct that typo. :D

Poor sunny! It's good that you're slowly letting us into her life. I'm curious as to what in the world is going on with Karen. Hope to find out soon.
Author's Response: Glad you're enjoying this!

Thanks for another great Sunny chapter! Looking forward to the next one. She feels so real!
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad she sounds like a real person. (Actually, I am Sunny. I am typing this on Creed's computer from the offices of Dunder-Mifflin bwahah).

Oh no, Sunny's past -- not so sunny. Yet another person in the DM world who knows that life is short, happiness might be fleeting, so get over your pride or fear or whatever is in your way, dammit!
We all want to play auntie to those two.
Author's Response: Thanks, lisahoo! I'm trying not to make Sunny a pity party, just giving a little background on her. But I must admit, for a comedy show, The Office sure inspires a lot of angst ...
Date: July 21, 2007 06:20 am Title: Of Mice and Math
Okay, I don't want you think that by saying that this wasn't normally my kind of story I was insulting you, because I definitely wasn't! I'm really loving this, you're doing a great job.
Oh, and pleasepleaseplease don't let Karen be pregnant, you or TPTB. Need. Jam.
Can't wait for more!
Author's Response:
No, no, I didn't get that idea at all, schrutebucks. Don't worry about it. I've been surprised by stories that generally not my cuppa tea, also. Thanks for reviewing.
The only promise I'll make is that Jim is not pregnant.
Date: July 20, 2007 10:16 pm Title: Of Mice and Math
Hmmmm....do the condoms belong to Dwight?? *raises eyebrows suggestively* LOL, just my wishful thinking. I really like this story.
Author's Response: Aw, that would be telling, Cate. Thanks for reviewing.
Date: July 20, 2007 06:50 pm Title: Of Mice and Math
This story is so much fun to read. I love Sunny, especially the fact that she is turning around her life. Looking foward to more.
Author's Response: I'd write more right away, but we're having serious cookie testing here a Chez NEJ. :D I'm glad you like Sunny. She's surprising me!
Date: July 20, 2007 06:29 pm Title: Of Mice and Math
I'm enjoying this story immensely. You've done some great characterization with Sunny (Suzy, Sally). I'm getting more entrenched in her story than in The Office folks. I keep imagining her future (Will she end up with the Rabbi? Open her own cookie store?), so it's a lot of fun to read.
Looking forward to more installments.
Author's Response: Wow! What a compliment, TVB! I'm so flattered. Thanks for reading.
Date: July 20, 2007 06:17 pm Title: Of Mice and Math
I'm guessing Jan and Michael for the condoms.
I love the part about Stanley, and the last line about the almond ginger cookies.
Author's Response: Maybe I should open a betting parlor about those condoms. :D Thanks for reading, TLK.
