Well, it might not be likely, but certainly plausible... One of Jim's more disturbing traits is his need to please or be liked by women above his own feelings or needs (or so it seems so far, that is). Also, when it comes to things that cut deep emotionally Jim is not a risk taker, which sex with someone you care about definitely is.
Karen is the hardest one to see happening the way you described, but the brick wall in their physical intimacy would go a long way to explain their emotional disconnect (or Karen not really realizing? willing to see it?) over his feelings for Pam. Karen would be quick to blame it on the sex angle... very interesting to contemplate.
Not to mention that after a certain amount of time I could see a guy just stop pushing and go along with whatever woman he was with was willing to do.
Okay, most of this is my stream of consciousness rambling, but in conclusion I thought it was written well and Pam acted very Pam. Nice to see her being the more experienced and confident one for a change ;)

That was ah-may-zing. Not just the smutty ending (thought that was good too), but everything. I love the idea of Jim's being a virgin. While I had never thought of it before, reading this story, I can really see it. And you did a great job of coming up with various reasons why he never did the deed before his night with Pam. Karen's I especially liked; her trust issues worked perfectly with it.

I was really curious to see exactly how you'd handle the Karen situation. I know this is fanfic, we can all suspend disbelief, and I actually don't find it as implausible as others do that Jim could actually be a virgin. If anything, Pam being so understanding is stranger, but I liked how you twisted it. You kept them both in character and explained. I look forward to Jim/Pam sexy-time.
