What a great story. You wrote Jim so well. I could really see those being his exact thoughts. Great job.
Author's Response: Thank you! It's always good to know if the characters sound right. Much obliged!

First of all, just gorgeous-"It feels like the beginning of something ... forever. Something that will last. He thinks about looking at her over a dinner table ten years from now, and knows she will have the same laughter in her eyes. He thinks about the future, and for the first time, the idea of leaving Dunder-Mifflin doesn't set off hushed alarms in his head. No matter where he goes from now on, she'll be with him. He'll be with her. He knows that, deeper than bone. So, he can look at a different future, one whose ten-year plan doesn't have to account for a gaping hole in his heart."
This is such a beautiful piece of work, it rings very true to them, and it was lovely. Thanks for writing it!
Author's Response: Thanks, McGigi! It was fun to write. Maybe too fun...I need to write something with more depth! But I'm glad you enjoyed it.

"Karen knew some of him, but not all of him, and what she knew, she wanted to change." Great line, and so true. This was a beautiful story - and such an intimate look into Jim's heart.
Author's Response: Thanks! I like to think Jim is this introspective, although the guys might disagree with me. :) I appreciate your comments!

So warm and cozy and just kind of right. I like all the little touches like the shoes by the bed, or making room both physically and emotionally in his closet, his shower, his life. Especially: that their differences only make her more interesting to him. Also - yes to the Karen situation - w/o Pam, they still wouldn't have worked (not defamatory to Karen, just a bad fit.) In fact, ironically, I doubt they'd have lasted as long as they did had Jim not loved Pam...he clung to Karen as a first line of defense. But I digress. Nicely done, NEJ.
Author's Response: Interesting theory about Jim clinging to Karen as a defense against Pam. It will be interesting to see these two when they no longer have to put up defenses--will they be more vulnerable to one another? Well, if they are, it will at least be balanced, I hope, by domestic bliss like this. Thanks, as always, for a thoughtful review, Colette.

This rings gorgeously, beautifully, true.
Author's Response: Awww. Thanks so much!

I love this- how it isn't just the cocoon of Pam's sheets, but the way they are wrapped up together, creating a beautiful forever that will emerge from both the suffering and the waiting as well as the love. This is love, and this is home, and it is good. Nicely done.
Author's Response: Thanks so much ngllisi! I know it's awfully corny to say, but it's still true that home is where the heart is--and we all know where Jim's heart is.

I'll take fluff. You write fluff, I read fluff. It works.
Already I gotta say it is just beautiful and sweet. I love how you emphasize that Pam knows him. And he is learning about her, things he would never know. And its just. Wow, its... is so great and beautiful and happy and all those words like that.
Author's Response: Fluff is good. It kept ME going through the darkest times of Season 3. :) Glad you like this, EH!

Nice. Sweet. Yummy. I liked it!

Hooray for fluff. And for why Jim & Karen would never work, even if Pam never existed. Nice point about the shoes next to Pam's bed -- when it's the right person, settling down doesn't seem so scary.
Author's Response: Jim has always seemed to me to be a guy who really wants to settle down for the long haul, so I wanted to emphasize all those little details that help him see that yeah, this is the girl. :) Thanks for reviewing, lisahoo!
