The talking dresses bit is SO REAL and also so funny.

She would find a dress than said, ‘I’m Pam. I’m sweet, kind, very worthy of your son, and – oh yeah – I’m adorable.’ So far, it had been: ‘I’m Pam and I don’t look good in orange’ and ‘I’m Pam and I’m kind of slutty.’ She left the dressing room, unsure about what this dress said.
She walked over to Jim, who gave her a “You look good” and she twirled for effect.
“I’m worried that this says, ‘I’m Pam and your son & I are having a shotgun wedding.”
GAH! love it!

Cover your ears. *squee* Ok, it's safe. Guh, Pam & Jim meeting the other's parents is so freaking adorable I can hardly stand it!!!! The jitters and wanting them to like you -- aargh! Nice job.
Author's Response: oh gee. thank you! actually, this was many drafts to get it to this story that you see before you. i had them (jim & pam) meeting his parents for brunch and it just seemed all wrong. i wanted to show the before's - much more fun because of the jitters and all of that. thanks for the feedback!

I think I'm in love with Mrs. Halpert! This was just a ton of fun and thank you for not making Jim the guy who picks out dresses.
Author's Response: i am in love with her too. i've written her in the abstract, but i've never really crafted her dialogue. she absolutely came out of nowhere (don't you love that?). although, maybe, she is based on my mom, a tiny bit. yeah, i figure jim would want to spend time with her... but not perusing time. he'd compliment dresses, whip out his credit card, and do his part that way. i'm glad you thought this was fun! thanks for your feedback.

This made me squee so much! The dialogue is dead on Jim and Pam, and I love Jim's mom!
Author's Response: you know, i feel like i already responded to the feedback... forgive me if i did already. thanks! it was so fun to work on... and i love jim's mom too. she totally rocks the house, i think. i envision her a bit like pam, but maybe a bit more unwieldy.

Very sweet. One of the few things that bug me about this show is that a lot of Pam's clothes come from Anthropologie, which she could never afford to shop at in ten million years. Maybe she doesn't eat. Whatever! Anyways, I love all the little details you have imagined, it just makes it feel so real. Great job!
Author's Response: wow do her clothes really come from anthro? that was just a wild shot in the dark. for me, i considered this a splurge. maybe she goes to that store, tries stuff on, but never buys. and he knows this, and wants to give her a treat ;) glad you liked this!

I absolutely love this! I completely understand Pam's desperation to find the perfect dress and all that it should rightly imply. Jim's line about the ambassadors is spot and I love it! Just fabulous!
Author's Response: oh, thank you so much! wanting to make a good impression is such a common thing, but with their history, i'm sure pam feels even more pressure - glad you liked!

Adorable! Love the "talking dresses". The dialog was very spot-on and a very realistic view into their relationship! Good job :)
Author's Response: ohhh thank you :) that's lovely of you to say.
