This is fiendishly cute, and I can't believe I missed it before. In addition to the very human filtering of these fictional relationships through her own experience, Pam also very much seems like the kind of person who would fret about Harry Potter characters, and I love seeing it.

Ahh! I'm sitting in day-long meetings and really ought not to have been checking my personal email account, but I'm so excited that you found this one.
I know I find myself musing about the future of fictional couples after the book/movie/show is over...and considering how vehemently some people oppose Ron/Hermione, Pam's concerns are not unfounded. But I loved imagining that Pam would care so much, and that Jim would know enough to calm her, and really this was just an exercise in me being a nerd in two fandoms at once. :)

How did I miss this wonderful story? As silly as it might sound, I got tears in my eyes when Jim was explaining what Hermoine and Ron went through to be together... And I've never read HP and have no idea who Ron, Hermoine or Viktor are, but I did sense that they weren't who Jim was talking about at all.

I really do love all the parallel meaning you managed to pack into Jim's assessment of Ron's worthiness to be with Hermione and make her happy. I imagine that Pam's chagrin at being busted worrying about them is akin to when you first revealed your fic writing to hubby! HA!

soI have never read a word of Harry Potter or seen the movies in my life. Just... no. haha. Maybe one day, I will. My mother is obsessed with the HP and she's 56 years old. So, yah. I'm kind of behind the curve. But I LOVE JAM and this was super cute. And I know what its like to worry about a fictional couple you love even after you "know" they're living happily ever after, so it was cute to see that from Pam, esp. since she used to tease Jim for watching too much TV. ;)

Yay! I love that Pam is sort of a HP fangirl in her own right. And that she ships what I ship.
Nice parallels between the two, how each of them sees the Ron/Hermione situation a little different based on their point of view. And I love the last line :)

I can also see Pam worrying that her ship is going to run into the same reef she did with Roy (but thank goodness she has Jim to steer her straight). i don't care that i have never read HP, i so love this. i love that pam worries about fictional characters, and its so sweet, and jim so is magic, because he does know what to say and its happiness.
