When did Daryl say about Toby being cool? I think I watched the episode but couldn't remember which one. I think Pam did say a few times that Toby is cute, so not only during that time. Michael being the most hurtful as usual and Jim's imitation is annoying even when I watched it (still didn't know which episode though).
It would be interesting to see how The Office people react when they see the documentary of themselves and coworkers and all secrets would be revealed.

I loved this story! Normally I am into the JAM stuff of course but this was really well-done and it was cool to see something from Toby's point of view. He's one of my favorite characters and we don't see him enough! Very nicely done :)

I really, really, really love this. This is the perfect way to show Toby for what he is, and how he could be so much more. I love him learning from his and others' mistakes and changing his life because of it - I love him sort of befriending Kelly and Darryl, and confronting Jim on being an ass instead of just taking it and pretending nothing's wrong. And check out our hero fixing his life and getting the girl in the end! Way to go, Toby! :)

Awww. Oh, Toby. Toby breaks my heart, but I love this. I love that he maybe found friendship with Kelly and Darryl, and that he got a good review from Ryan, and a date with a nice girl who probably knows him pretty well by now. What a great way to look at the whole thing from a new angle. Brilliant!

Steph, this was SO much fun to read! Poor Toby, this was a rough time for him, but I liked that he got the girl in the end. All the characters were very well-rounded. I also liked the way you formatted it, it was a great read!

Yay, Toby! I loved how watching the documentary inspired Toby to change his life, starting small (being friends with Kelly, getting to know Darryl) and ending with a bang. I'd probably cheer for Toby and Nicole. It was very cute how she interrupted his question. I'd much rather see Toby portrayed like this on the show, rather than some sad, jealous guy. This was really great!

I'm not sure how I missed this initially, but I'm going to chalk it up to the holidays. :)
I have to say that you've done the near-impossible in this fandom: come up with a truly original story idea that isn't merely a retelling of the same things we've all seen a hundred times before. You've taken a unique and realistic approach here, and I think it worked brilliantly.
And, let's face it: as much fun as it is to kick Toby around, it's nice to see him occasionally win.

Oh, this is so so well done, I can't even begin to articulate how good it is. It's such a fantastic and creative premise to begin with, and your Toby was SO spot on. I love all of the little details you picked up on, like Toby and Darryl being friends and having a playdate with their daughters, omg. And the Toby/Jim confrontation was EXCELLENT. As was the Kelly and Toby friendship. Everything, really. Hopeful Toby at the end killed me dead. Wonderful! I can't wait to read more from you. :)

Aww, the underdog gets the girl. I feel so badly for Toby on the show with all the crap he gets from Michael. And I felt badly for him here watching the tape of Jim mimicing him. You did an awesome job with this, tying it in to various episodes of the show but keeping it fresh and new.

I really liked your story. I loved how you took all those small moments from the series and focused on how Toby would react to them. Very well-written as well. I especially liked the ending; it's about time Toby gets a girl! Great job!
