Sorry, but you MUST stop whatever you are doing and write the next chapter. I need a little pep! The image of Jim running past Pam and out the door broke my heart.
Author's Response: No worries, Kath. I'm shirking all of my real life responsibilities to fix this!

Oh, this is so awfully painful, but I think it will be better for all of us once they finally talk.
Author's Response: Yes. Just like it would be better for us all is they actually talked on the show. Sorry - got a little sidetracked!

HOLY CRAP! You are killing me(but in a completely good way). More, please!
Author's Response:
Sorry to kill you - perhaps I can revive you shortly!

K sad but I know you need to progress the story and she didn't say she had an affair yet.
Author's Response:
Nope - she hasn't pled guilty yet...

I love to have them struggle a bit but this hits very close to home for me so I'm doubly weepy. Please tell me it ends happily...
Author's Response: Oh xoxoxo, I don't mean to toy with your emotions! But hang in there...

So painful and beautiful all at the same time. Wonderful.
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you found some beauty amidst the pain.

This chapter gave more hope but I am still worried about Pam having an affair. It seems so unlike her, but all the signs seem to point in that direction.
Author's Response: She has been through a lot recently. But always hold onto hope kaystar...

Love that you're writing a not-so-happy future for Jim & Pam. It feels real--particularly Jim's insecurities. Can't wait for the next chapter.
Author's Response: I hate putting Jim through all this again but bad things do happen to good people.

Marriage isn't forever happily-ever-after and I love that you are exploring this. I'm dying to know what's going through Pam's head.
Author's Response: Even JAM has to have some problems! All that perfection would get annoying. Maybe...

Glad that you don't seem to be prolonging Jim's agony too badly...though there are clearly plenty of issues left to make him miserable (is it wrong that I find him so sexy when he's melancholy?) Also - loved the bits about him dealing with all the kid wrangling in Pam's absence. So sweet and sad and Jim.
Author's Response:
If you're wrong for finding Jim sexy when he's melancholy, then I'm wrong too! I'm trying not to toy with him or make him suffer unnecessarily...

Okay, THANK GOD that you continued this. I read the first chapter at work yesterday and I was literally depressed. I had to go find some fluff to get my mind off of this haunting story. I am so glad to see more to this story, and I really hope that you are still planning to continue it. The back-story really helps it all make more sense. Also, the moment at the end of the story helped me not want to jump off a bridge or something again ;) Such a bittersweet moment, yet it really does give some hope that they can work through all of these issues and fix this. Here's hoping you plan on continuing!
Author's Response: Of course I plan to continue - I can't leave poor Jim so sad. Or leave you depressed! There is hope so please don't jump off a bridge!

This is such a sad tender story.
Author's Response: They're a sad tender couple, after all.

Baby steps in the right direction. :) This feels so realistic- I'm really, really engaged in this story.
Author's Response: I'm so happy it comes across as realistic. I wanted to explore a future problem of theirs because old insecurities and patterns never seem to change in a relationship. Thanks for you reviews which are always quite thoughtful and constructive!
Author's Response: oops - meant "your" reviews...can't spell today

The image of them holding hands in bed like that is beautiful and sad. It's hopeful as well, I think. *crosses fingers*
Author's Response:
Hopeful - yes. But there's still a lot of pain to sort through.

Oh, dear. I'm very intrigued. I hope she's not really having an affair!
Author's Response: You'll have to wait and see...

Aghhhh.... Well, you are just going to have to stop everything you are doing and update this asap. It was really good.

Ouch. Oh, ouch. Ow, ow, ow.
Okay, I applaud you for taking on a story like this. It's gotta be hell to write, but the fact that you're doing it is so cool. Stories like this are what makes this fandom so amazing, for me, anyway. This prologue was so heart wrenching, just that image of Jim gathering his courage and voicing the question, and then Pam walking away with no words...oh, man. So good.
But, still. Ow!
Author's Response: It is really painful to carry sad Jim around in my head which is why I'm inflicting him on all of you! Thanks for your kind words and I'll try to find a remedy for your "ouch".

Wow, that was very sad but so Jim.
Author's Response:
Poor Jim. We just keep toying with him!

Wow. This was so well done. I could feel Jim's pain. Update soon!!!
Author's Response: Thanks! Working on it...

Am I a bad person, cause I'm secretly hoping that Pam is having an affair. I know she is probably not, but I like high drama. Keep going!
Author's Response: Bad?! No, you are evil! But maybe I am too...
Date: September 05, 2006 09:18 am Title: How Did We Get Here?
This really made me feel Jim's pain - damn you! Very well done. Seriously, you need to drop everything and update soon. A girl can only take so much!
Author's Response: I feel so cruel when Jim has already suffered so much! But he is so believable as the tragic figure. I'll try to ease your pain soon!
Date: September 05, 2006 09:01 am Title: How Did We Get Here?
Ack! No! This was painfully real and very well-written, but...no!!
Author's Response:
Thanks nqllisi. Hang in there - I'll try to ease your pain soon!

Oh no! Please don't leave us hanging too long. This is unbearably sad!
Author's Response: Never fear kaystar! I'll cheer you up again soon.
