I check on this every day to see if you've added anything. I'm trying very hard to be patient, but it's not easy.
Can't wait for more!
Author's Response: Oops. I missed this before. Thanks for taking the time to leave a note. See, it didn't take THAT long after this review!

I just re-read this story and I still love it! I am SOOO looking forward to an update.... there are so many things I cannot wait to find out.
Like... what exactly did Pam have inscribed inside of Jim's band, and when will he see it? Is Pam doing okay, alone with her CCU memories back in Mr. Halpert's room? What will happen when Mr & Mrs. Halpert meet the 'daughter-in-law'? When will Jon call, and when he arrives will Pam really leave, or will Jim ask her to stay?
And, really, I'll be happy for whatever comes next in this story.
I am on the edge of my seat!
Author's Response:
Wow! Thank you so much for all your kind words.
I feel like the boy who cried wolf but I really have been working on CC off and on. Right now, I'm outlining the missing chapters. (I've written some but I've been writing "what comes to me" rather than "what's next.")
Thanks. I hope that, when I do finally post again, it won't disappoint.

Ok I can wait knowing that there will be more to this story! Hope you get better soon! =D
Author's Response: Thanks. Life would be so much simpler if I could just write the chapters IN ORDER. Tonight I finally decided how the FINAL chapter will go and I am working on that! I have drafts of intervening chapters ... just not the NEXT one. But I am writing, I promise!

Please, Please, Please update soon. I wanna read the rest of the story so bad lol
Author's Response:
Hi, simplicity!
We got back from Africa on Sunday night and I've been pretty much sick with a bad cold since then. Didn't get a single word written on the whole trip ... but I really do hope to have some up soon. The story is not abandoned, for sure.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a note. It will help to keep me motivated to get back to writing if I know somebody is actually out there waiting for the next chapter!

He wants to take Pam on a date to the coffee shop? Please keep posting.
Author's Response:
Hey, when you're stuck in the hospital, the coffee shop is as hot as the dates get!
I'm writing! Work's been crazy the past couple of weeks, and then there's all the ordering stuff that Young Blood is requesting that we take to Africa, gathering stuff to pack ... busy, busy! I hope to post at least a couple of chapters while we're on vacation.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a note!

Yay! I'm so glad you updated! I've been catching up on all my fanfic reading and I was so stoked to see more of this amazing story. I'm glad Larissa is doing better, I think Jim really needed something to help give him faith and now he can have more hope for his dad's recovery. I'm sure you have family and friends and work and all that... but I want more updates stat PLEASE!!!
Author's Response:
Thank you, Pamalamadingdong! I'm not sure that I'll get another chapter up before we leave for Africa to see Young Blood on March 9 ... but we are taking the laptop with us. I'll have a LOT of time on planes to write! (Let's see, DC to London, London to Cape Town, Cape Town to Johannesburg, Johannesburg to Kruger, Kruger to Johannesburg, Johannesburg to Blantye, Johannesburg to London, London to DC. Whew, my butt is going to be sore but I will SURELY have time to write!) I'll have some access to email, so I will be able to send drafts to my betas and hopefully still get a few chapters up. I think there are just 2 or 3 till we get to the point where I have some that are just about in the can. So, hang tight! I'm doing the best I can!
And thanks so much for leaving the enthusiastic review. I really, really appreciate it!

LOL I love how you changed Emily's tone when she speaks to patients, it's so true!
Looking forward to the next one
Author's Response: Yep, absolutely true! It drove me crazy. It is especially bad with elderly patients ... Not that Larissa is elderly! Just an observation.

Nice job with this chapter. I like how Jim is slowly but surely acclimating himself to the hospital routines and learning what to do, thanks to Pam's helpful lists.
Of course Larissa notices the ring and comes to the wrong conclusion. I'm glad Jim told her the truth. I was afraid he'd just gloss over her concern with no real explanation at all.
Author's Response:
Thanks, EverybodyHurts.
Yep, Jim had to be honest with his Mom. There'll be no hiding Pam in a day or so, you know? I think there are a number of things Jim will come to terms with and start to be honest about as the rest of the story unfolds.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review.

"Yessss!" That's what I said when I saw that you had updated this story. This was a great chapter. I really think I'm going to like Larissa Halpert. I'm looking forward to some Jim/Pam/Karen drama in the future when everything comes crashing down! Keep up the great work!
Author's Response:
Thanks for that "Yessss!" ... You really gave me a smile with that one. I hope you like Larissa. I'm kinda fond of her. :-)
The J/P/K drama is actually already written! I just have to write enough chapters to get there!

I love your Sweetconcernedson!Jim. Looking forward to the next chapter, as always.
Author's Response:
All these exclamation point Jims in the reviews for this chapter. This one is cute, too.
Hope to have the next chapter to you before a week. We'll see...

i like this chapter. it's always fun to see what their moms think about this situation. i, too, like that she sees karen's pain in this. i love that you're stretching this out, not resolving the story too quickly. :) nice job.
Author's Response:
Hi, jinx! Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and letting me know what worked for you in this chapter.
And I think we can safely assume that no one will ever accuse me of "resolving the story too quickly!" Thanks for sticking it out with this pokey writer.

“Squeeze, Mom. Squeeze hard. It’ll take away the pain.” So touching. I love how Larissa found out about the "marriage." While speedy updates are nice, I'm happy with any update at all :) I love how this story is unfolding.
Author's Response: Thank, NanReg! You're always so forgiving. Actually, I'm kinda glad it's taken me this long to get the story out the door, because it's unfolding in a very different way than I'd originally planned. I like this version better!

I can't tell you how happy I am when I see an update. This was such a sweet Mother/Son chapter. I love how they were able to talk and Jim was there for her. On a side note, have a great visit with your son.
Author's Response:
Thanks, kh! I may not know how happy you are to see an update but I can tell you I'm very happy to see your reviews! I'm glad you liked the interaction between Jim & Larissa.
I surely am looking forward to my visit with Young Blood! Eleven days together! It's gonna be great!

Again, I'm so happy to see you're posting again!
Larissa is such a mom -- concerned about Jim while she's the one lying in a hospital bed. “I miss my cheery, optimistic son." Yeah, PodPerson!Jim of S3 would worry any mother.
Author's Response: PodPerson!Jim ... you crack me up! And I'm glad to be posting again, too! Thanks for the note.

Well, it won't surprise you to know that I like this chapter. The moments between Jim and his Mom are lovely. I especially like the way Jim helps her cope with the pain - making her squeeze his hand the same way she used to. More please!!! BAx
Author's Response:
And thank you for all your help! Chapter is decidedly better for your input.
I'm definitely hoping to have the next chapter up before we leave for Africa, so be looking for a draft in the next few days!

I think your story is fantastic! Just read it from top to current and I am completely hooked. Cannot wait for more!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for letting me know that you're enjoying the story. I really do appreciate it. More soon.

Thank you for posting tonight. It made my weekend.
I love this story so much. I know our patience will be rewarded...but I am one of the impatient....and I check all the time for updates. Can't wait to see what happens next. Thanks again.
Author's Response: You're welcome! I'm really glad you're enjoying the story. It's so cool when people say they check all the time for updates. Thank you!

This is the fic I check fanfic daily (if not more) for! Thanks for the update. Looking foward to these 2 crazy kids figuring it out (and another night...)
Author's Response:
bcd, you're making me blush! Checking daily ... or more ... for updates? That is so nice of you to say!
I fear it'll be at least a week before the next update. I'm writing, but I'm slow.
Date: February 22, 2009 10:06 pm Title: It'll Take Away the Pain
LMAO at his Mom thinking he'd married Karen. God I love this. I can't wait for more Jim and Pam, and maybe another night in their room oooh :)
Author's Response: Thanks, Hannah! Glad I gave you a chuckle. Pam & Jim coming up...
Date: February 22, 2009 08:38 pm Title: It'll Take Away the Pain
Another fantastic chapter, VB. I always get so excited when I see you've updated! I'm so glad Jim finally got to talk to his mom, even if he did feel helpless. Oh, and his poor mom being so confused about the wedding ring! I'm so excited to see how this all plays out. Will Pam have to face Larissa when Jim inevitably goes to sit with his dad? Will his dad wake up soon? What happens when Karen finds out? !!!
Can't wait for another update. And may I request that we have some Jim/Pam interaction in the next chapter? lol
Author's Response:
Thanks a lot! I love to see all those questions you have running through your mind. They will all be answered soon.
And, yes, I think I can accommodate your request for some Jim/Pam interaction in the next chapter.

Hi there! I don't mean to nag, but I really hope you'll update this story soon. I check for updates every day, but to no avail. I can't wait to actually MEET Larissa Halpert and to see where Jim and Pam end up. So, please update soon! Thanks!!!!
Author's Response:
Hello! I promise you I am writing. I just don't have a lot of time each day to devote to it, so I am pretty durn slow. There will be more ... in the not TOO distant future.
Thanks for the nudge!
Date: February 12, 2009 05:00 pm Title: Parents and Playlists
I am sooooo glad you are writing this again, I love this fic!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm writing a little bit every day. We're taking a trip to PHILLY this weekend & I plan to have Mr. Blood do the driving so I can write more. Hope to have the next chapter up next week.
Date: February 09, 2009 06:56 pm Title: Parents and Playlists
I'm so glad you updated, VB! I've been anxiously looking for an update for a while. Great chapters - especially Jim thinking about the talk he needed to have with Karen....
Author's Response: Thanks, kaystar! Glad to see you're on board with the story! Life has calmed down a bit (for now) and I'm happily writing again. We're leaving for AFRICA a month from today to see Young Blood, who is still volunteering in Malawi. I'm hoping to have a good bit of the story up before we leave, but I doubt it'll be finished. I'm such a slow writer.

Just wanted to restate how much I love it when Jim sits in Larissa's room wondering about the roomie. That rang so true.
And "BZ" was inspired.
Another great installment. Will await the next chapter...impatiently.
Author's Response: Thanks, jazzfan! You know you'll be the first to see the next chapter!

Hello, I just finally decided to register so I can comment on how much I love this story, one of my favorites of all time. I read it a few months back and in my rush to finish it I never knew if you already told us what was writen in the rings Pam bought. Thank you very much for continuing with this amazing story.
P.S Sorry for my grammar, English is not my first language.
Author's Response:
Hi, PauAngie!
You have no idea what a rush it is to see that a reader registers so they can leave a review for your story! Thank you so much.
No, I haven't told you yet what is engraved in Jim's ring. (That will be soon, though!)
By the way, you have NOTHING to apologize for in the grammar department! Where are you from, may I ask? That is one of the things I love, love, love about this site ... getting to "meet" readers from all over the world!
