This is sweet and sad, and a very nice portrait of Pam as well.
Author's Response: Thank you so much!

Oh, this was lovely. I love Sasha's innocent and yet spot on observation of her dad's sad eyes. Poor, poor Toby.
Author's Response: Thank you!

Oh, poor Toby! And poor Pam to find out a secret like that. I really liked the part about Pam wondering why Toby was uncomfortable around her...
Nice job!
Author's Response: Thank you! Yep. Poor Pam and Toby and Sasha in this fic.

I clicked on this without even looking at the author, and then a couple of sentences in, I was like 'this seems like a Steph story', and I looked up and it was written by you! You've patented your own style, it's awesome. I hate that what little happiness is in Toby's life is still tinted with sadness.
The observation by Sasha was perfect, worded very simply, like a child, but the underlying meaning was just... spot on.
Author's Response: Wow! I have my own patented style? That's awesome. Thank you so much!

“My dad’s eyes are always sad. Even when he’s happy, he’s sad.”
Such a heartbreakingly true portrait of her dad.
Author's Response: Thank you!

Really spelendid job here. You capture Pam's compassion and the sad pathos of Toby very well, and you do a nice job with Sasha...as the father of a nine year old I feel qualified to say that your depiction was realistic.
Author's Response: Thank you so much. I really appreciate the feedback about writing Sasha. I'm always a little nervous writing kids so I'm happy I did an okay job.

Nice job, Steph. Poor Toby.
Author's Response: Thank you again. Poor, poor Toby indeed.

good one! This would be such a sad situation (and definitely costa rica worthy...) Very interesting peek into Toby's world
Author's Response: Thank you so much. And I agree with you. Definitely Costa Rica-worthy.
