"Thus buoyant yet burning man."
I couldn't stop reading this line. It's so perfectly Jim, and so visual and visceral. I just love it.

Brilliant, as always. You leave me breathless with envy with every story you write. I could quote every single line of this as evidence, but these really caught me:
He reaches back into his mind for those careful words he had chosen, but they’ve all vanished. He has dropped them in the woods among the twigs and the leaves. There must have been a hole in the pocket he put them in.
Wonderful, wonderful. Thank you so much for this fine story.

i wish i could talk about how beautiful this is, how soft and completely mindful of details... but i don't think i can. it's so lovely, great job.

I love this piece, thanks. Somehow with language, you've painted the inadequacy of language when it comes to their release of emotions at finally being able to be an "us". How'd you do that?
The last line was perfect.

I love how you balance how simple it is (walking, talking, holding hands) with the utter enormity of what is actually going on. Beautiful, as always.

Wow. Quietly was really good but you've topped yourself with this fic. It was simply amazing. Gorgeous imagery.

I was just thinking of you today, and how I need to go back and reread some of your stories. Probably because of The Distance and The Damage being on the front page. And now this shows up. Yay.
You had me at "built to love." Three simple little words, and yet so descriptive and right for Jim. One of the things I love most about fanfiction is the way it can make you look at the same old characters in brand new ways. This really did that for me. And, of course, the imagery is gorgeous. I love the idea of words as things you can collect or lose through a hold in your pocket at the wrong time. And it ends on such a lovely note, with the thought that "love" just isn't enough to describe the feeling in that moment. Just beautiful.
