This is such a lovely story. And in my opinion, very Jim and Pam. It's the little things that matter to them...well, not counting the house that he bought for her ;)
Also, yay for getting rid of the clown painting!
Thank you for sharing.

Fluffy, yes, but delightful. Like whipped cream. I hope you stay "unretired."

Yes, he got her a home. It's great. Pam would be the practical one and Jim would want to do something special for her. Nothing could be more special than taking down that doggone clown (except putting up a print of hers).
Great job! I definitely got a WAFFY!

I am so glad you came out of retirement for this. And now you're here, you should stay around *pressures you*
Beautiful, I love how he tells the story wrong, just to have her correct him. So cute!!!

This is delightful :) There really is such a significance between a house and a home, and that sentiment is portrayed wonderfully :)

Shootingstars!!! I am truly touched that you would make a rare post-retirement appearance just for me. You know I'm a big fan of your stories, and this is no exception. I love it. I can very cleary picture everything. It's so sweet and believable, and your characterizations are spot on.
Pam picks wallpaper and paint and carpets and Jim mostly just nods along, because she’s so happy, dashing about the blank canvas of their house and he knows she’s not capable of creating anything that isn’t beautiful. *sigh* So sweet, and so Jim.
Thank you again, so very much. xo

This is so sweet, I love the 'years later' part. I do love your stories. I know you say you're retired, but I hope you come back and write more cute stories like this one.

The whole story is worth waiting for, especially when she tells him to get off the couch from upstairs :) But the best part is this...
"Ten minutes ago, he might have freaked out alongside her. But he just quite possibly destroyed a box of their belongings and all she did was laugh and now he knows, suddenly and certainly, that they’ll tell their kids that story one day. In this house. And somehow that makes everything all right."
It just sums up everything thats right about them as a couple.
BTW-Never apologize for fluff :)
