Ooooof. This is the epitome of bittersweet. And the line "not a bad life" is really good use of references.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for your kind words. Getting a review on this 11 years later has made my day. Glad you enjoyed it.

Jazzfan...perfectly heartfelt and beautifully, beautifully done!
Author's Response: Thanks Mr. Bill.

Sweet idea, jazzfan. I'll confess I was pretty confused with who was who during the hospital scene, but I love this idea. The romantic in me wants to think it would still be like this for them fifty years later. And I know Jim wants to go first, even if it's a little selfish... I liked that you had him acknowledge that he's thought about it. I may or may not(but definitely did) tear up a little end the end there. Nice job. :)
Author's Response: I was trying to surprise the reader with that first scene, but I don't think it worked as well as I would have liked. Thanks so much for your comments!

This was incredible through and through, I truly thought it was Jim and Pam's baby at the beginning. Then I was glad it wasn't, because seeing them together so many years later, still so much in love was just beautiful.
Author's Response: I'm glad the beginning part worked for you Casinos and Coal Walks. I think Jim and Pam are in it for the long haul. Appreciate the review - thanks.

james daniel... you TOTALLY took that from my fics! ;oP
seriously though, this is beautiful, fluffy and sad at the same time.
Author's Response: Gosh, I'm really sorry. I didn't do it on purpose. The kid had to be named Jim for the story to work, and I've always been partial to Daniel because of Greg Daniels. Imitation is flattery, right?

Okay that was amazing and broke y heart a little at the end, but in a "wow that was fanastic," kind of way. I hope he'd okay, poor old man Jim :(
Author's Response: Thanks, Hannah_Halpert - sorry I didn't get back to this sooner. Life has been a bit crazy. I think Jim is satisfied with how his life has turned out, and in the end, can we ask for any more than that?

I not only hope - I know - that this sort of lifelong love is possible...this reminded me a little of my own grandparents, who absolutely adored each other for 50+ years...and trust me, theirs was no lollipops and ponies existence (we're talking the Great Depression, the death of a child, bankruptcy, severe illness) - and through everything, just like your Jim, my grandfather was always happiest home alone with his girl. Very sweet and lovely, jazzfan.
Author's Response: Thank you Colette. Very sweet about your grandparents, and yes, it is possible. As I mentioned below in another review, my folks were married 55 years, my grandparents made it 50+ years, and jazzman's are still counting after 62 years. All very lucky people. I really appreciate your comments.

Ah, this was splendid before and now it's even better! I love it. Like I said, you took my breath away once Pam and Jim got home.
Author's Response: Argh, you improved this a gazillion percent, as usual. Thanks so much for every red mark. I appreciate your keen eye and your ruler. Glad you liked it.

Aw, the gifts keep coming. Thanks so much for this, my friend. I know you've had a lot going on, and I really appreciate it. Lovely to think of Jim and Pam decades in the future, still happy, still in love ::wipes tear::
Author's Response: It's all your fault, you know. *snork* Sorry it wasn't on time, but better late than never? Maybe someday they'll make a movie of Jim and Pam after they're older. I'd watch that, wouldn't you? Happy Belated Birthday!!!

I love these stories giving us a glimpse of how amazing a life long love story can be. This is the best so far even if it has me weeping. Your tag is perfect jazzfan.
Author's Response: Wow, jinx, thank you so much! Very kind of you to comment, and yes, it is possible. My folks had 55 years together and jazzman's folks are at 62 years now and still counting.

Oh, good lord..this is just beautiful jazzfan! This story blew me away, and I loved how you pictured Jim and Pam are in their later years with their great-grandchildren.
Author's Response: I've always loved the idea of an old Jim and Pam toddling about, doting on each other and pulling pranks on their grandchildren. Thank you very much for your thoughts.

Good Lord, I haven't got that emotional in ages over a JAM story. I had to actually stop reading for a second to catch my breath. You wove a beautiful picture of them in their latter years. Thank you.
Author's Response: I'll take that as a compliment, and thanks. I appreciate your taking the time to read and review, and we all need a bit of a sniffle now and then, don't we?

Omigosh! I'm sitting here crying like a blubbering fool! This was outstanding. Wow. I loved so much about this - not a bad life indeed.
I need a tissue.
Author's Response: *hands Deedldee a tissue* Sorry about that, but I'm glad you enjoyed it. I toyed with putting a warning at the beginning because I know some folks don't like this kind of story, but that would have given it away, so I didn't. Thanks muchly for your comments.
