Poor Michael. His propsal to Carol. Well... it was one of hte more awkward moments I ever saw (although I recently saw this video on youtube about a guy who tried a public proposal, and she just ran away, and you just ave to imagine its a thousand times worse when its real, not fictional)
But showing where my thoughts lie - that Jim didn't respond to the text is just about as bad. I mean, poor Pam. It was so close to the phone call in the initiaion, and she seemed so hopeful about it, but stupid jim was getting drunk off his ass!!!
He wasn't on a date Pam. I promise. He was at work. Getting drunk. Why won't Pam listen?!
But I can relate to Pam. I mean, yeah, it just gets worse and worse. You first think of the simplest explaination, and then it gets worse and then you usually think that the person is dead. Or is that just me? Oh well.
Although as much as I hate it, and your story really explains it, Pam couldn't be with Jim right after CN. I mean, she had to learn about herself at first. But then, then she was ready. And now its the right time.
Seriously, I knew it wasn't Jim at the door. I mean, I saw S3, and I am pretty sure Jim showing up at her door after Diwali didn't happen. However, my heart was racing and I wanted it to be Jim so badly. And then it was Roy. :(
S3 Roy did look good. He was trying. And that is when I really just wanted to sit him down and explain it wasn't him. It was just not right.
They kissed. :(

I keep re-reading this story for this line. So perfect. Yes, poor Jim was, for all of twenty seconds, deliriously happy. Breaks my heart every time.

“Why can’t you love me the way that you used to?” - what a heartbreaking thing for Roy to say. It would have been so easy for Pam to just give in to him and I'm glad you didn't have the story go that way. I too felt sorry for Roy in the episode last night but then I thought, he needs to lay his feelings on the line and if she says no, he needs to move on. And you did just that here!

I actually felt bad for Roy last night, despite all my pro-Jamness. I bet writing this was cathartic for you. I liked you exploration of Pam as a single woman, doing and discovering things on her own.

This was great! I was so amazed at how gorgeous and sad Roy looked last night (I just want him to find someone! -else), and I think you did a great job dealing with his obvious feelings and Pam's conflicted ones. I love how Pam's so strong here and really thinking about what she really wants - it would be so easy to slip back into things with him, but it wouldn't be right, and she knows that now.

Thanks for a smokin' hot Roy. Long overdue. And glimpses of him as a young, virile quarterback--yes! Thank you. But best of all is Pam saying, "I can't" to Roy. Love the echo of Jim's "You have no idea..." (that silky voice still echoing in all our heads).

This was lush and gorgeous as always -- and a completely different take on the scenario. I did not see Roy coming over, wow! I have felt so bad for Roy, too, in your latest multi-chapter story and now this one, it's horrible. Poor, hot Roy. I have to say, though, I really liked the allusion to GWH -- "You have no idea how long I've wanted to kiss you again." Like a punch to the gut, I felt like, "Oh, my God."
That was just right -- just enough to bring her out of the moment ... because, man, her in her robe, and Roy, in ... his hotness ... erm ... okay.... I have to go now...

Darn you, darn you, darn you for making me feel bad for Roy :( My boy and I were watching last night, and when he walked in and saw her dancing, Shawn yelled "No, she's just dancing with him. Wait! What am I saying? Yes, leave!" They are making it way too easy for me to like Roy (Plus, the beard? Yum)
Nothing you write will stop me from reading your fics, but, you make me question where my loyalties lie! Jim would be so disappointed in me ;)

Well, I think it's you who's something else. So glad she didn't let anything happen with Roy - for both their sakes. And, yes, Pam would be more sympathetic to Michael than anything else. And Roy as Byronic figure...oh my goodness, now that's one I never would have thought of. Thanks for this follow-up to last night...like a lovely after dinner drink (only it's 8 am here, but still.)
