I think that after all their time apart that if Jim did invite her out to see a rainbow that Pam would have seen colors shining like emeralds, rubies and sapphires in her heart and in her mind even if not actually outside D-M.

I thought that was adorable and I couldn't care less if it's not scientifically possible. Good job :]

Author's Response: Thanks!  I guess some people are sceince people and some people are not. :D

All around her, colors shone like emeralds, rubies, and sapphires. The light danced around her and she laughed with delight. Jim joined her inside the rainbow.

Uh. Okay. You do know that this is, literally and physically, impossible? Rainbows do not touch the Earth; they surround it. I guess as a fantasy this might work. *shrug* Just threw me totally out of the story, though. Sorry.

Author's Response: Okay Okay.  See Below A/R.  Just suspend disbelief for a moment and enjoy Jim.  :)

that was cute, but a little too un-scientific for me (i know, i know ... i'm a sucker for continuity.) it's impossible to 'get closer' to a rainbow ... it's an optical illusion created when the sun is behind you, filtering through the rain in front of you. the fact is, if you were standing EXACTLY where the rainbow appears to end, you wouldn't even see it, because the sun and the rain wouldn't be interacting in the same way at that location.

that didn't make much sense. anyway. the story was cute, but a bit hard for me to really be able to appreciate.

Author's Response: Okay, I'm so NOT scientific and I don't understand it at all, so that explains that.  :)  Um...maybe just suspend belief.  Maybe just an urban legend about walking through a rainbow, but I like it nonetheless.
