This was so great! Somehow I've managed to never read this story, so I just read it all the way through and I'm just grinning from ear to ear. As far as this chapter goes, I loved loved loved the final few sentences where Pam "outed" them, reminded me very much of when they first admitted to dating in Fun Run. This was a great read!
P.S. Also, my dad used to call me "bean" which is pretty random but also pretty cool to read it in this story :)

Yay! I was so thrilled to see an update to my favorite story about the Halpert family. I needed some fluff after all of the weirdness on yesterday's episodes. Will there be another story with the new baby? How will Jill adjust to having a little brother or sister and not getting all of the attention. Oh please, please, PLEASE add to this story or write a sequal!!! Thanks in advance ;)

I felt really lucky to get an early look at this. It was great to get a visit from Baby Jill in the middle of my work day! Maybe I'm biased, but I thought it turned out pretty great. The Fun Run-esque scene at the end is my favorite, I think. Great stuff.

Aww, I love how you integrated the new house storyline into BabyTalk. ITA, that when you realize the first one is getting a bit spoiled, that's when most parents decide it's time for another baby.
We call our girls 'bean' too. Nicely done.

i just found this, hunting around for old treasures on MTT, and it is f***ing brilliant.
i'm thinking that in all seriousness, you need to send this chapter to the writers of the show. if it runs long enough (and if it doesn't, i'll die) to include Jim/Pam babies, they could use this. They WOULD use this. it was absolutely flawless. this is better than most of the pranks they've come up with.

I know the horror of not seeing a child. I work at a day care center and am constantly counting heads. And just today, I was taking the kids outside, and one of them turned the corner before they were supposed to. My heart rate sped up to dangerous levels. I was terrified. He had been there a second ago, I look down to grab another childs hand, and then he was gone. Thankfully, I saw him the next second, and he got an earful about why that was so so wrong. But thats the part I connected with. Because that fright is constant with me. The blink and they are gone.

I had absolutely no doubt this is how your baby Jill was going to turn into toddler Jill. A little wood nymph and a sprite with no fear. Really sweet moment for our little family in Baby Talk-ville, even though it's a little bittersweet for Pam. Nice.

This made me a little ferklempt - seeing yourself in your kids is a scary and awesome thing, and you really captured that here, as well as how mind blowing it is when you begin seeing all the ways they're not you. And I LOVED Jim's journal entry - perfect. This was a delish little amuse bouche for tonight's episode...not that they're about to reproduce, but at least we know it's somewhere on the horizon now. Wow, a new chapter of this! I should tell you, I discovered it not that long ago and fell directly in love with the Halpert family as you've written them. This latest part was sweet, and not a little sad. I don't yet know what it's like to watch your children grow from babies into little people, but I feel like this gives me a good sense of what it would be like.
