Wow, I read these all at once and they are just fantastic. I love how you've found the perfect song lyrics for each one. And despite the seemingly separate drabbles the Pam/Toby and Jim/Karen stories really flow. Nice work!
Author's Response: Thank you!

I love how much you get across with so little - and the characterisations and thoughts and feelings I would associate with the moment are still completely tangible. Amazing stuff, because usually I multi-task when doing things but this time I read all 21 drabbles in one shot.
Can't wait for more!
Author's Response: Wow, thank you for the great review....I'm glad that the characterizations are still there, I find it's harder to get it right when you're working with so little words, but I like a challenge! Hopefully there will be more soon...

NOOOOOO!! Don't leave us there!!!
I love Toby. I love how sweet and melancholic you've made him and Pam as friends. Wonderful.
Author's Response: I'm sorry! You know, this is the first time in my history of writing that people are reading an absolute WIP...it's weird, and totally not my usual style. But I'm working on the next installment, in that weird between episodes period. Too bad real world writing had to get in the way this weekend! Anyway, thank you for the review and I'm sorry for babbling...my brain is fizzled out on Faulkner today. :)

Tuna’s a smooth guy – he would know how to get a lady away from whatever chump she’s with.
Omigod I laughed out loud at this. So wrong, wrong, wrong and hilarious.
Author's Response: Haha, I'm glad you found it amusing. :)

I can't quote my favorite line from this because I love them all. Maybe "a knowledge of all things Pam" is the best, but they're all great.
Author's Response: Wow, thank you!
Date: December 02, 2006 08:15 pm Title: Pam - The Tension and the Terror
Yay, Pam! Yes, Jim was never your friend. He was courting you, woman!
Author's Response: There was wooing, and she didn't even realize it!
Date: December 02, 2006 06:36 am Title: Pam - Sway
These snippets are excellent. I love seeing the story from multiple POVs. And Pam and Toby as friends makes me grin like crazy.
Author's Response: Thank you! And yes, Pam and Toby as BFF makes me happier than it should. :)
Date: December 02, 2006 06:08 am Title: Jim - How To Quit
Yay! Jim is confused (well, not really, we know who he's thinking about!!) Is that mean?
Author's Response: Hee, it's not mean, Jim should be confused. And then not confused at all. And then tackling Pam. (In a good way.)

"that part of his brain that contains knowledge of all things Pam" - beautiful phrasing
Author's Response: Thanks so much!

These bits and pieces are so much fun to read! It's amazing how full the story is even though you only tell snippets of it. Really looking forward to reading more!
Author's Response: Thank you! Hopefully there will be more soon for you to read...

I have so much love for this story. I love the idea that Pam would become good friends with Toby. He is such a nice guy, and I can see how they would bond. I hope you continue this series! :)
Author's Response: Thank you so much! It's sad, while I was watching The Convict, Toby saying "Hey, Pam" when he answered the phone made SO much sense to be because, obviously, they're best friends now.

Write more! I am in love with this story. And good job with the Jimmy Eat World quote;)
Author's Response: Thank you! Yeah, I love the Jimmy, so there will probably be a few more quotes coming soon in upcoming chapters...:)

I LOVE these little drabbles. This is so interesting... I love the idea of Pam becoming real friends with Toby; he really seems like he'd be a good friend, y'know? And Pam... realizing that she was never really friends with Jim; that was it was actually always more than that, really. I love that. These are really cute and nice and I want to read more.
Codename Boyfriend needs to go out of town more often. ;)
Author's Response:
Seriously, I think that what both Toby and Pam need is a friend. And...part of it is probably me wanting to be friends with Toby.:) And I think that once Pam realizes that she and Jim will not "always be friends", perhaps she will then kick it up a notch, FNB style.
Hee, and I'll have to tell Codename Boyfriend that he needs to be unavailable to me more often. Granted, he's in med school, so I see him approximately 2 seconds a week(ha, during which I make him beta my stuff), so I'm not sure how he would take that.
Anyway, thanks for the review!

I love the way you used this series of drabble to tell a story: they were really powerful together.
Author's Response: Thank you!

Awwww, Toby is so sweet! He totally likes Pam but is pushing her toward Jim. Great job with all these drabbles, they give just enough for a highly impacting story.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I love me some Toby, he just seems like a sweetheart.

Oh the inner monologue of Michael! So that's how it sounds?! Excellent stuff. Just - bravo!
Author's Response: Thank you!!!

Oh, the horror of being an HR person who has to clean up after the messes of Michael Scott. I love Toby and I love what you capture about him here.
Author's Response: Thanks! Yeah, you know Toby must have cried in his shower for a good hour after hearing that there would be new people coming and interacting...with Michael.

The other half hopes for things he shouldn’t anymore.
He’s been there five seconds, and he’s already broken all of his rules
Great lines. They really capture the angst of what it must feel like to be Jim in this situation.
Author's Response: Thank you!

I like how you incorporated Toby into the day's events, both the ones we saw and the ones you created -- very much in character, and it's nice to see Pam have someone to lean on. When I first saw Pam/Toby in the description for this set, I didn't want to read it, but I'm glad I came back.
Author's Response: I'm glad you came back too! In all honesty, this story started as one drabble that was more Pam/Toby than anything else, but I couldn't view them as more than just friends...he's the perfect person for her to lean on. :)
Date: November 30, 2006 08:13 pm Title: Michael - Change
Go Michael! Why do I have this feeling that Michael and his talent for inappropriate remarks will have something to do with bringing Pam & Jim together?
Author's Response: Hee, ever since The Convention I've been waiting for Michael to throw down and get those two together, The Secret style.

Ah! Love this! he’s already broken all of his rules. Fuck.
Author's Response: Thanks!

This is such an interesting structure, switching the various points of view. Michael's thoughts just cracked me up, because you captured his voice perfectly, something that is pretty hard to do. I can't wait to read more of this story! :)
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you liked the structure, and the Michael section. That one was the hardest to write, Michael is so over the top and all over the place that he's hard to get a handle on. There will be more - last night's episode got some ideas churning in my head. We'll see how long I'll be able to do work in the real world before sitting down and continuing. :)

Really loved reading these--the collection of little moments that together, told the story of the day. You captured the voices of the characters really well in their respective chapters (loved Karen's list making). Particularly loved the way you voiced Jim's thoughts thoughout the day--how he broke his rules and particularly the line about him owing to himself to try things with Karen.
And Michael's cracked me up :)
Author's Response: Thank you! Yeah, I think Karen is the type of person who makes lists. And Jim, while I do think that he does like Karen, is with her as part of his get-over-Pam-for-my-own-sanity campaign. Wow, that was a lot of hyphenage.
Date: November 30, 2006 01:51 pm Title: Pam - Sway
Is that from the song Sway, Bic Runga?!
Author's Response: Ha, it is. That is one of my ultimate Jim and Pam songs. :)
Date: November 30, 2006 01:39 pm Title: Karen - How Long Is Too Long
These are all excellent. I like how they can be taken individually or as part of a narrative. I particularly like the bit in this one about Karen knowing that Jim "really wanted to look at her if he turned around," considering that now this is his arrangement with Pam.
Author's Response: Thanks for the review! I added that bit from Karen with the new arrangement in mind...it'll be interesting to see just how much Jim turns around now, when Karen is pretty much staring at him all day. :)
