ahhhhhh!! Don't leave it there!!!!! Who is he calling? Omg!!!! Duck, duck GOOSE!! That gave me goose bumps!!
Author's Response:
LOL! Goosebumps? Well then. My work is done. :)
Soon you'll know who Mr Halpert is dialing. Patience is a virtue. ;)

PFF FILLER?! omg that was way too cute to be 'just filler'. i can't wait for more!
Author's Response:
Hee! Thanks! More coming soon. I promise!

Good filler! Definitely, definitely good filler. Especially with that ending - and that was a very creative way to go with "Geese a-Laying".
Author's Response: Thanks Semby! It was sooooooo tough to do. But I'm glad it worked for you!

this chapter was really cute! please continue it :)
Author's Response: I'm working on it!!! Thanks so much for the review!

Oh - I didn't think Pam would make a move so soon. I'm glad she did (and in such a cute way), but now I'm already anticipating the next chapter. Does Jim call Pam? Karen? Kevin?
"...he files that tidbit away in the section of his brain reserved for all things Pam related." - I just love this idea.
Author's Response:
Hmmm. I wonder who Mr Halpert dials. Think of the name of the next chapter. :) That's all the clue you'll get from me.
He has a section of his brain like that. YOU KNOW he does. ;)

This chapter is certainly NOT filler... it's gorgeous! I loved the Jim/Pam/Sasha interaction - sometimes kids can just see things so clearly while the adults are completely oblivious. Some of my favorites:
The truth hits him like a slap to the face. -- Wow. Doesn't it just?
It sounds to him like she’s apologizing for more than repeating herself. -- So painful. So nice.
And if it is something different, then he’s really not sure what’s going on, because he’s pretty sure he’s never heard her use that word in the whole time he’d known her – and definitely not in the context he’s thinking of now. -- Oh Jim... so like a man...
Seriously... this was great. Can't wait for the next chapter!
Author's Response:
Thanks Lenore. Sometimes I get a little insecure. ;)
Thank you also for citing lines in particular. I'm always wondering what stands out for people.
New chapter soon!

More. Now.
And that is all I have to say about that. ;)
Author's Response:
Promise. Soon.
And that's all I can reply. ;)

Oh wow, that was painful - so well done. So, so sad to read how they're both struggling to forget the past, forcing themselves to move on, acting like absolutely nothing is going on. This is so perfectly them.
Author's Response: I know. Ouch right? Things look up when we get to the chapters "for the birds." ;) Keep reading.

And you wanted to jump over this why? Pffft, you are a silly, silly woman. ;) See, I didn't believe you when you said it would be filler, and I was right. By the way, the "sounds like duck but is that really what she is saying" had me giggling a lot. Because I am 5. Why? Because when in the solitude of the 3x5 cell I call an apartment I often become delusional. :) You should know that since I often use my one prison "phone call" to call on YOU. And LOL! Yeah. I must be 5 too. ;) Thanks Gen!

I've been waiting to review this until you were done, but GAH!! Duck Duck Goose!! My favorite kiddie game!! Wow...just wow.
I'm ridiculously happy right now. Thanks for that.
cheers.
--Lex
Author's Response: Thanks Lex!! It was tough but that's the only thing I could think of that made sense. I'm so glad it worked for you!

If THAT was filler then good Lord woman, bring on more filler!!! That rocked! I knew I called in sick for a good reason today! Oh my goodness and way to go Pam! The part that had me cracking up the most was when Jim was trying to figure out what " -uck" word she'd said exactly. lmao. Hilarious.
Author's Response:
I'm so glad you liked it. Glad I can help you out on your sick day.
Hee about the -uck. I couldn't resist!!!

Seriously, what IS with all the birds in this song? I'm not sure how many plausible ways there are to work fowl into a story, but you made this one believable! I keep trying to guess where you'll take each line of the song and you surprise me everytime! I was definitely holding my breath at the end there. I sure hope there's going to be some full on making out in this story because the show's not coming on for two weeks and you are my fix! Hee.
Author's Response:
It's driving me insane. Calling birds? French Hens?
Turtle doves I've got covered. ;) And the Partridge in a Pear Tree? Think cameo by David Cassidy.
j/k...or am I???? LOL!

Love this: Before he can stop himself he files that tidbit away in the section of his brain reserved for all things Pam related.
And the goose allusion was a little forced, but overall, this whole chapter is by no means 'filler' -- definitely a step in the right direction.
And I MUST know who Jim is calling!!
Author's Response:
LOL! Yeah. You got me - but come on. Geese a laying??? Cut me some slack! :) That one was the toughest one yet!!! Sigh. What's with all the birds in this song!?! Whose idea was this anyway???
LOL! re: who Jim is calling...You'll find out...soon enough. :)

Filler? I beg to differ! That filler was more precious than some whole stories I've read!!
Bring on the 5 rings, baby!
Author's Response:
Hee Hee! Awww. Thanks Mox!
They're on their way....

First, I have to say that I let out a bark of laughter when I read the, "I told Pam I'm in love with her and all I got was this lousy tee-shirt." Too funny! The exchange you've written here with Jim and Roy reminded me so much of the feel of the show - I was squirming, almost leaning away from the laptop because I was afraid Roy was going to say something to make Jim just blurt it all out. I also like that you've written such a sympathetic Roy here - truly clueless, so much so that it's tragic. I knew I'd love this!
Author's Response:
See - next time they talk? He's not going to be quite so sympathetic. ;) I'm glad you're liking the story so far.
Stay tuned!

I'm just now getting a chance to catch up on this, and...guh. I did not care for her stealing his chips and drinking his water - grrrr. (Was that mean? [/Pam]) Seriously, though, you've articulated the whole dynamic so well here - I love it that Jim and Pam found it exhausting just trying to have a conversation with Karen, who of course wouldn't get it - couldn't get it. And "Iceland might just be the new Germany" is a classic line. :o)
Author's Response:
Thanks girl7! I don't like it much either - but until they write her off the show or at least out of Jim's general vacinity (Dear Greg Daniels: What I want for Christmas this year is....) I'm going to have to deal with her.
and LOL! re: Iceland. It totally is. You have no idea. ;)

I'm afraid I have to disagree with you, Miss xoxox. This was neither filler, nor lacking in substance. Exactly the kind of quiet, domestic time they needed to re-connect, apart from triangular office complications. How sweet that Jim's happy to see Sasha relating to Pam, how great that Pam is starting - if still awkwardly and a bit cryptically - to come clean with him. Loved their conversation out by their cars...and the duck, duck, goose kiss hit the right note of bravery, tentativeness, playfulness. And a challenge. Golden rings, huh? Sounds promising.
Author's Response:
Thanks colette! I'm not usually one to go fishing for positive feedback but I'm soooo anxious to "get to the good stuff" and I've also written this type of reveal sooooo many times that I was afraid it didn't quite stand up.
And yep. Golden Rings. Five to be exact. Stay tuned. :)

I will never think of duck duck goose the same way again. I love your analogy.
Author's Response: Me either. :) It all came together after I decided to put Sasha in the mix. I'm glad you liked it.

When she looks in his eyes all she can see is months of worrying, months of wondering, years of missed chances.
Awww, poor Jim. But it's good that she sees it and owns it. You have me on the edge of my seat with this.
Author's Response:
Hee! Don't worry too much about Jim. I think he'll be OK after the next chapter.
But that's all I'm saying. ;)

Cute chapter! Sasha is so perceptive for her age and gives such great advice!!
Author's Response:
Yes. Yes she is and yes - yes she does.
:) Thanks kaystar!

Out of the mouths of babes...okay, so pretty much any excuse to use that phrase ;) You were able to so wonderfully convey how kids have this ability to simplify everything- she should be your girlfriend Jim, get it together! I guess it's just too bad that people's feelings get involved and really have a way of muddying things up. Um, and I suppose all this is a roundabout way of me saying that this was a great chapter. I must have had some of colette's drugs over the weekend ;)
Author's Response:
I know. I'm so glad someone is making the two of them think!!!
Look for Six to get them at least talking a little. Maybe more. :) Haven't finished it yet!! LOL!
and hee! About the pharmaceuticals. ;)

Aww, so cute!
I can't wait for more!
Author's Response: Thanks PuffingNoise!! I'm hurrying!!!

Cuuuuteness!!! So cute. And I seriously Netflixed The Notebook this weekend...hadn't seen it since it came out.
Author's Response:
HA! The Notebook serves it's purpose - but I'm glad I went a different way with this story.
And yes. Agreed. Sasha's pretty adorable! (and so are Pam and Jim for that matter.)
