:::sigh::: Words can not express how much I loved this. I loved that it didn't go exactly smoothly when he walked through the door, I loved that he got pissed about the art thing and her not taking a chance, I loved all the KISSING for God's sake that did me in...all those little kisses on her shoulders:::sigh::: and I loved their conversation about France at the end. Love, Love, Love.
Author's Response:
So did you love it? :)
It appears you did - and that makes me very happy. Thank you!

Wow. So I pretty much stayed up all night to read this, and um, no I'm sleep deprieved.
Let me just say, the scene in the last chapter with Jim chasing Pam, promising to find her and then when he did find her, the ravishing and kissing? Had me grinning and giggling like an idiot so.. that was great. LOL
Now just waiting for the last two chapters, tee hee.
Author's Response:
Aww. Sorry to deprive you of sleep - but happy you like the story.
Last two chapters are on their way! Thanks so much for the review. Get some sleep! :)

I liked that you made Jim hesitant instead of just jumping right back into things, nice work!
Author's Response: Thanks! I felt like there needed to be some sort of acknowledgement of all that's gone on. So glad you agreed! Thanks so much for the review!

OH MY GOD!!!! YES
Author's Response: I'll take that as a good sign. ;) Thanks Amalia!

Okay, wow. That was just so hot, and I love that Jim is weary but also supportive of Pam. That's him, right there. Oh and yeah, you got your French right. :)
Author's Response:
Hee! Glad you liked it Gen - and thanks for the French lesson. :) It is totally him - isn't it? He's trying so hard to protect himself but in the end he's just hopeless.
Poor guy. :)

Okay well lisahoo might have been kidding about French hens being about french kissing but I totally wasn't- and so glad to see you came through! Yay! Seriously though, I think it's very realistic that Jim would see his relationship with Karen (because from what little we have seen from her, she does seem a bit more open with her feelings) and use that as a catalyst for realizing he wants the same out of Pam. Because as easy as it would probably be for them to just fall into dating I think Pam would need to be honest with him first- and glad you captured that in a realistic (and hot!) way. His eyes, his mouth, those hands? I think Pam's been visiting the JK thread :)
Author's Response:
HA pennylane! I don't know about Pam - but I may have ventured into that thread a time or two. ;)
I'm glad the chapter came across as realistic for you. It was my intention to show that all might not be rainbows and sunshine from the get-go. So glad you agreed!

Love how Jim first gets on her case about going to France - a day has passed and he's insecure and panicked she'll break his heart again and looking for a reason to be angry with her, convince himself she hasn't changed, braced for the worst...then, yay, Pam! She totally brings it. And love how afterwards, she's relieved that it's still just them, talking like they always have...just as she would be.
And how lovely is the idea of them together in Paris (always been a fave image of mine too - in fact, once mentioned it in a story myself.) That trip would make a great fic, btw.Well done, Ms. xoxox. Well worth waiting for! (And just the right dose of steam, I might add.)
Author's Response:
I could just see him having a day to think about it - how he'd still end things with Karen but be incredibly unsure about it all. And yes. Pam brings it. FINALLY. I have no doubt that's exactly how it would be. They'd just easily fall back into their roles - even in the most intimate of situations.
Re: Paris. In my very first Jim/Pam fic EVER in the couldn't be fluffier epilogue - I had Jim take Pam to Paris on their honeymoon and the idea is just so delicious I can't shake it. It would make an awesome fic - are you volunteering?? :)
Re: Steam. You know how I struggle with that - which is so weird because IRL I'm far from prudish. Gotta say -the original version of this chapter was very nearly NC-17. It was not the story I wanted to tell here however. I'll just have to save it for another time. ;)
Thanks, as always, for your ever so thoughtful review.

Ummm...can I just say well....this is the best story I have ever read on this site. I am in love with this story. You are truly gifted and I have nothing more to say as I sit here in awe of your awesome talent.
Author's Response:
WOW - that's something considering I feel I pale in comparison to some of the gifted writers archived here.
But I'll take the compliment!! Thanks so much! Your review made my day!

Hhhhhot.
I'm really glad Jim made Pam say it, girl has some serious 'splaining to do to him. I love thier dialogue, you really have their dynamic down. Awesome chapter!
Author's Response: So am I. ;) Thanks so much!

Really sweet chapter!
I loved this line because it seemed so real, and not an observation I ever remember reading in fanfic: Pam turns in his arms to face him, loving the feel of his skin brushing against hers.
Author's Response: Aww thanks PuffingNoise! So glad you liked it!

Great chapter...I really liked how Jim needed to hear Pam say it before going on. And Pam's way of saying it was fun...Only two more chapters...can't wait to read what you have in store for us.
Author's Response: The last two chapter will be fluff filled - you can count on that much. Thanks so much for the review Luna! I really appreciate it!

Oh sweet holy Jesus. I was joking about French Hens being about kissing, but Wow.
I really like the detail about Jim still being a bit unsure about jumping into something with Pam, not fully trusting that Pam really loves him -- that idea hasn't been explored much before.
And Pam & Jim in Paris? Just. Wow.
Author's Response:
oh lisahoo! You are the bestest ever.
Of course French Hens would be about kissing. I've got to say - this chapter had a much different feel to it until I read some responses to the discussion about Jim and how long it might take him to propose. I liked the idea of him being kinda wary - and Pam stepping up. I'm glad you liked it too!

Finally. I love how Pam made sure he knew she loved him.;) Great chapter
Author's Response:
It was easy. I just listed all the things I love about Jim. LOL! Glad you liked it.

Oh, yay! Very sexy and sweet!
Author's Response: YAY! Glad you thought so. I struggle with the steam - always. I think I have a propensity to err on the cheesy side - which I don't really want to do. I hope this came across the way I wanted it to.

I get on here at least a couple times a day just to see if you've added a new chapter! Seriously great
Author's Response: Awww! I love to hear stuff like that. I'm so glad you like the story. Thanks so much for the review!

Date: December 23, 2006 09:58 pm Title: Four: Calling Birds
Wow that was great. I can't believe Jim was gonna go for it while he was still with Karen. Of course he should but I am glad he is gonna talk to her first. Great job.
Author's Response: It killed me to make him leave - but I really think that given the opportunity - Jim would make sure there was nothing standing in between him and Pam in the end.

just popped in to catch up on your fic. I so love this chapter and I'm rushing to read the next since it is there.
Author's Response: I'm so glad!! Thanks for the review!

Phew, WOW. I am gone for a week and you write three new chapters and I think I just about had a heart attack -- these were fantastic and I LOVE IT. I so want them to just make it happen and I loved the bit about Pam going to take ice skating lessons and then running into Jim and at first it's awkward but then they just sort of fall into it... and Sasha's comments -- I totally had to giggle at that because I just spent the week hanging out with my four year-old niece (and two year-old nephew) and there definitely just *is* something about kids and their honesty, and that was just so sweet. Okay, where is the next chapter????
Author's Response: Hee GreenFish! So glad you're enjoying it! And the next chapter is (FINALLY) here!! Sorry for the delay. Hope you had a happy holiday!
Date: December 22, 2006 06:05 pm Title: Four: Calling Birds
Ahhhhhhhh! No! Pam, for once, will you choose Jim over someone else? Who gives a damn about Karen? Argh!!!!!
xo, you're killing me, in a nice way. *sob*
Can't wait for the three French hens.
Author's Response:
LOL! She's going to realize the error of her ways. Well. More accurately - make up for it.
Hens are on their way....

Was he hallucinating or did she actually just kiss him? Whatever it was, he’s not going to let her get away with it, that much he's sure of.
Hee! These two sure love their games.
Author's Response:
Yes they do. Glad they are playing with each other rather than against at the moment. :)
