Well, that's quite the role reversal at the end.

I thought I reviewed this before, but obviously...I didn't. This is great! My favourite line is : She smiled. With teeth. It was very convincing. It wasn’t in the stairwell, she mentally clarified to justify her lie. because I think it quite painfully and truthfully sums up something that Jim and Pam do a lot when it comes to their relationship. Good job!
Author's Response: Well, thank you for coming back to review! And, yes, they definitely do the whole 'covering up feelings' things a lot - too much, in fact. That's gotta stop soon!

This story broke my heart. I would hope that Pam's crying is abreakthrough, but I could see her still covering. Well done.
Author's Response: Thanks. And I have no doubt that it's a breakthrough! But they've still got a long way to go, I'm sure.

Tears in eyes here. So realistic and painful. Pam would totally lie.
Author's Response: Thank you. Hopefully she'll be more honest somewhere down the line...

OUCH! Oh, Pam. You shoulda told him the truth. Because the two of you will never be together until you two stop LYING to one another.
You wrote her so well, so believably. I totally believe she would say and do this. Dammit.
Your last line is a killer!
Author's Response:
Oh, I know. My first dream of him finding out was of course an overly-hopeful scene of him confronting her, her admitting it, yadda yadda yadda, babies. But then I realized this would probably be closer to the truth. They repress so much. *sigh*
And thank you!

That was great. It was heartbreaking, just like last night's episode. Very in character and believable.
Author's Response: Thank you very much!

While this is so incredibly in character and just awesome, it's very heartbreaking. It's also very sweet, the fact that Jim would look after Pam in such a way. On his side of things, he is holding in as much as she is. The way you've written the awkwardness between them is so realistic.
With these two, I'm taking what I can get these days so if Pam's crying over Jim, I consider that a good thing. But the fact that you've added this little part, even though it's sad, still tells me that Jim cares deeply about her.
Author's Response: Thank you! And, yes, definitely: I feel sad for Pam, but I think it's definitely progress. She might not be nearly ready to admit her feelings to him, but she's coming much closer to admitting them to herself (if she hasn't already, we know she doesn't tell the camera everything she's feeling). And I'm sure if she reaches the point where she can actually tell him, he won't hold back either.

Aw, what a great follow-up to last night's episode. I so want Jim to find out she was crying - maybe overhear Dwight say something to her about it the next day. Jim's needing to see if she's okay, but being nervous about asking, and her reticence to let tell him, are so touching and sweet and just ring really true here.
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm torn between wanting to see him find out and not wanting to, in the fear that if he did, it would turn out a lot like it did in this story. These two still have a long way to go before they can talk openly about this stuff!
