Oh, ouch. I can totally see something like this being the final straw for Pam. Oh, and the balloons for Valentine's day? Perfect- sweet but not flowers. Because he doesn't love Karen. Woohoo!
Author's Response:
I love that you get all the little things Lis. Every single time. :)
Woohoo indeed!

Ooo, Pam speaking her mind - nice...
I like how you point out that they're just friends now, but that doesn't come close to what they were before, which couldn't technically be more than friends because of her engagement. Whew.
Looking forward to your next chapter... :)
Author's Response:
hee! Thanks Shan. I figured it was about time.
More to come soon! Pesky work!! ;)

Well, I was clearly not a very awake beta when I read this because I missed a whole lot of grammar/spelling stuff. Bad me!
Still thinks it is so satisfying to read Pam get angry. Can't wait for more!
Author's Response:
Aw Gen. No worries. You had a lot on your mind. ;)
Bad ME! I'm the one who wrote it in the first place. LOL!
More soon!

Only nitpick, though, is the changing tenses throught the thing? When she starts talking it flips into present tense, but throughout the rest of the story it's past. I'm sorry, no one else probably even noticed. I'm just being a dork. =$
Oh, and I didn't say this before: Bastard. Oh, Pam, go!
Author's Response:
Nope - you're absolutely right. Usually I write in present tense and this time (no clue why) I went with past. I absolutely appreciate your bringing it up. I can't fix what I don't realize is broken. Nothing dorky about it. THANK YOU!
Date: January 08, 2007 12:43 am Title: The beginning of the end...
OH. I am so, so, so freaking satisfied. Pam did not make all the mistakes in this relationship and she did not misunderstand everything and I am beyond tired of people saying Pam gets all that she deserves. Both of them made mistakes. I am so glad to see her saying that it was hard for her to change and he should've known that.
I adore and love Jim to bits but apparantly some people who think the same of him decide to be stinking biased all the time!
Thank you, thank you, so, so, so much for this. After Back from Vacation this was exactly the sort of full tonic I needed.
Sorry for the rant but I was in desperate need to let some of the anger out. =P A quick update would keep me shut up a little longr though, I promise. ;)
Author's Response:
Rant away. Me too - and that's part of where this came from. I'm so glad it worked for you. Thanks very much for taking the time to tell me so.
Updating as quickly as possible!!
Date: January 07, 2007 10:51 pm Title: The beginning of the end...
Oooh yes! Go Pam!
"I said the same thing." She mumbled almost to low for him to hear.
"What?"
"Yesterday - with Andy. You wanted to know how to get him, I said send him a flyer announcing a cappella auditions over at the Community Center and you said it was too obvious. Not ten minutes later, she said the same thing and all of the sudden you're printing out copies on fucking Plasma Pink." As she says the words she can't believe she's even saying anything, let alone cursing at him. She snatches the fax confirmation and storms back to her desk. "Do I not speak English anymore? Do they speak another language in Connecticut that I'm not aware of?"
Geeze, how dare he? LOL I'd be mad as hell too.
Author's Response:
It was the best way I could think of to really get her angry. He's said before he shouldn't be "pranking"people anymore - but to continue to do so and dismiss her ideas???? You know that would kill her.
Thanks for the review!
Date: January 07, 2007 10:02 pm Title: The beginning of the end...
Yes!!! Out of control Pam!!
I love it.
It actually feels kinda nice to have her just...go at him like that.
Thanks!
cheers.

Author's Response:
Doesn't it?
Kinda satisfying no? :)
Date: January 07, 2007 09:03 pm Title: The beginning of the end...
ooooh this is so good. I haven't read anything like this where Pam just loses it! I love it. I can't wait to see what Jim has say now! Please send more! :-)
Author's Response:
Thanks LoveFool.
This story is more about what Pam says than Jim. But he'll get a few words in edgewise I think. LOL! Thanks so much!
Date: January 07, 2007 08:57 pm Title: The beginning of the end...
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your bit of wishful thinking! Gosh, I get so tired sometimes of how Pam is dumped on for not falling into Jim's arms after Casino Night -- it's nice to read (if only wishfully) stories where Jim's not made out to be the jilted, fault-free hero in all of this. (And it's not that I don't like Jim -- I do. He's just a twit sometimes is all. ;-) ) Thank you thank you THANK YOU! for reviewing!!! I mentioned in a another reply that I'm with you. It is not black and white - they both made mistakes. And this time - Pam's telling him just what he's done to keep them apart. We'll see where they end up. ;)

This needs to be continued immediately. =)
Author's Response: OK then. ;)
Date: January 07, 2007 08:28 pm Title: The beginning of the end...
okay, you really need to continue this...like, now. so go do it.
seriously, loved it. pretty much what i've been feeling about Jim these days
Author's Response:
I love Jim. I ADORE him in fact but Pam's not the only one who's made mistakes. Not by a long shot.
It's about time someone's told him so. :)
Date: January 07, 2007 08:25 pm Title: The beginning of the end...
More! More!!
Author's Response: Hee! I'm trying....
Date: January 07, 2007 07:56 pm Title: The beginning of the end...
question: how quickly is this being continued? (Not fast enough!!)
a comment: When pam walks out of the office, I'm assuming Jim is following, but it doesn't read quite that clearly for me. He is. right?
I LOVE your LC-Pam - I could just feel all that bubblying over anger, and all well deserved, I think. I await the next chapter VERY eagerly!!!
Author's Response:
Soon...Ms Moxie. Soon.
Yeah - that totally wasn't clear. I've gone back and added a part that shows he followed her.
Date: January 07, 2007 07:40 pm Title: The beginning of the end...
loved it! And Pam has very good points - he has some fault in all of this too. I can't wait to read more!
Author's Response:
Thanks kells! Working on it!!
Date: January 07, 2007 07:30 pm Title: The beginning of the end...
Loved this - the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. Or in this case, the prank that led to Pam's meltdown and subsequent loss of control. Oh, and Pam's "Bastard" - priceless!
Author's Response:
Hee kaystar!! I figured it had to be something that Pam holds sacred - her conspiratory relationship with Jim was something that she used to reconnect to him. If he sided with Karen on a prank over her it would be the ultimate betrayal.
At least in my eyes. ;)
Date: January 07, 2007 07:20 pm Title: The beginning of the end...
LC Pam rocks. I want to be her friend.
Author's Response: Me too Jen. Me too!
Date: January 07, 2007 06:55 pm Title: The beginning of the end...
I like this Pam! Go, Pam, go!!
(And, btw, because I appreciate it when people tell me about something I can fix, it's "rein," not "reign," because it's like the thing you use on a horsie.)
Author's Response:
Even if I think Pam should rule the world??? Hee!
Thanks so much for the help LL! I really do appreciate it. I'd much rather someone point things like that out than silently sit there and say "Ummm....dictionary?"
and Pam's going. Let's just see how far she gets. ;)
Date: January 07, 2007 06:49 pm Title: The beginning of the end...
VERY good! I love the epic stuff but the itty bitty pieces just kill me, every time.
My only (tiny) complaint is that Pam spends all day trying to "reign in her emotions" and then shortly thereafter tries to "reign in her temper." That is all.
Author's Response:
Thanks MrsKamorri!
And thanks so much for catching that. I try so hard not to repeat phrases and such - but that one got away from me.
All's fixed now!
Date: January 07, 2007 06:45 pm Title: The beginning of the end...
That was great!! I love angry Pam :)
Author's Response: Thanks Jenny!! Glad you liked it!
Date: January 07, 2007 06:39 pm Title: The beginning of the end...
Yes! Yes! Yes! I love when we get to see Pam really good and pissed off at Jim. Because lets face it, he's not the only one thats hurting.
You capture her anger and annoyance so well. Can't wait to see where you're going with this.
Author's Response:
YAY! YAY! YAY!!!
So glad you're liking the story. Just a little spoiler -I'm going to end it happy.
In case you were wondering. ;)
Date: January 07, 2007 06:07 pm Title: The beginning of the end...
Okay, I swear there were tears in my eyes before I realized that there's not a "next" button for this.
I mentioned it at TWoP, but there are simply too many spot-on lines to quote here. I'll try anyway:
"
She wanted to throw something, something that would shatter and splinter and maybe maim anyone caught it its path. She wanted to punch him, she'd never thrown a punch in her life but right now, at this moment, her fists itched to find a mark. She wanted to yell and scream and stomp her feet like a two year old in need of a nap."
Yes. You know she has to feel this way; I don't give a damn about the whole Pam-needs-to-suffer theory - she'd already suffered enough before he came back. But to have to watch him with Karen and face the possibility that it's too late? Torture, absolute torture. -- And I don't think she "deserves" it.
"
"Yesterday - with Andy. You wanted to know how to get him, I said send him a flyer announcing a cappella auditions over at the Community Center and you said it was too obvious. Not ten minutes later, she said the same thing and all of the sudden you're printing out copies on fucking Plasma Pink." As she says the words she can't believe she's even saying anything, let alone cursing at him. She snatches the fax confirmation and storms back to her desk. "Do I not speak English anymore? Do they speak another language in Connecticut that I'm not aware of?"'
The great thing about this is that I could completely envision such a moment as being the defining moment on the show - the point of no return. Pam makes a prank suggestion so awesome that it pulls him back a little; he's so terrified that he jumps on whatever idea Karen throws out. Then Pam calls him on it. Wow.
"She pushed through the door and walked to the elevator pressing the button frantically. "I don't know what's worse. Waking up one morning and thinking I was about to throw the rest of my life away or making the choice to change only to find out it doesn't even matter. I didn't realize I only had one chance and because I didn't give you the right answer that was it. It was gone - lost - forever." Her eyes were wild, shiny with unshed tears as she whirled back around to face him and stared him in the eye."
Guh. I love Jim - find very little fault with him - but this? She (you) have called him on it completely; I just hope we get this moment on the show...
As usual, stellar stuff here.
And, uh, are you by chance planning on continuing it...?
Author's Response:
The next is coming. I promise!!!
That's so much girl7 for your extensive (hee!) review. I'm so glad so many pieces of the story worked for you.

Lord, it's satisfying to see Pam get this angry - I could so feel her pent up resentment, rage, hurt, frustration finally explode here. I mean, seriously, enough is enough. Doing the right thing, being sensitive, mature...all very admirable, but really, sometimes I just want to see her grab him by the collar and give him a piece of her mind (and you know, other ones too.) And how perfect that what finally uncorks her is the business with Jim ignoring her idea, but jumping on Karen's. I could also just imagine Jim's stunned reaction. We've never really seen her this pissed, so it's hard to invent that voice - but I think you nailed it. Okay, it's snowing, it's just the two of them....bring on LC Pam showing him what's what. (Thanks, that was very cathartic!)
Author's Response:
Grab him by the collar? Hmmmm. OK. :)
It was hard to write her angry - but I just imagined all the things I'd want to say to him in her situation and there you go.
Thanks as ever for the kind review.

Great start. Love the slow simmer than led to an all out explosion. Very nicely done. Looking forward to future chapters.
Author's Response: Thanks Buffy! I'm looking forward to writing them. ;)
Date: January 07, 2007 05:45 pm Title: The beginning of the end...
Oh, this is amazing. I love the way you've written Pam losing her composure in a way that's not over-the-top. It's very in character for her. And what she said to Jim at the end--very well written, and I agree with her.
Awesome job! This is excellent!
Author's Response: Thanks Noodles!! More to come. Psst. She might not be done yelling at him yet. ;)
Date: January 07, 2007 05:38 pm Title: The beginning of the end...
Ooh, angry Pam. I hope it's not only wishful thinking on our part and that we'll eventually get to see that aspect on the show as well. Seriously, every time I read the dialogue you write for Jim and Pam I can hear it in my head. So, well done as usual :) You're off to a really great start with this!
Author's Response: Thanks pennylane!! Something's gotta happen right? And I'd just love to see Pam lose it. Glad you agree!
