i like it very much! haha, i'm so in love with the 50s (minus all the repression of women) AND james dean, so this is a pretty all-together badass fic.

Ugh... a chapter ending with a misunderstanding. Now I'm all grumpy... I love this fic. Really great idea!

Whenever I read this story I think of this picture

Of course, in a more wholesome, goody-two-shoes, completely lacking in sarcasm kind of way. How much do I heart Pam's mom in this chapter though. Go Mrs. B! Very progressive.
Author's Response:
I have about a thousand of those magnets...my favorite one says "fuck this 50s housewife bullshit" and has a smiling lady with a grocery cart...haha

Oh, I'm so happpy you updated! I love this story! The last chapter was so great, but heartbreaking at the end- both because Jim's mother is doing so badly, and because Pam misunderstood and thought Jim was brushing her off. Update soon, please!!

Wheee, PamPong!! Thank you for the chapter, I loved the insights into Pam's life, and I liked her parents! I'm very excited you used the name Gloria, it's one of my favorite names. I really like all the subtle period details like Pam's gloves and the pipe. Keep up the good work!!

Awww...I think this is my favorite chapter yet. Absolutely adorable. I am amazed that you can take current Jim & Pam, put them back in this time period and still make the friendly banter and relationship seem real. Wonderful.

I cannot express how happy I am every time I receive an e-mail stating there is a new chapter to this story. I love the setting and the details. I love how you manage to create atmosphere with so few words. I love their relationship, and I am always surprised at how much tension is created by their entirely appropriate relationship. Just wonderful.

Gah... your Jim is dead sexy... and I can't even stand cigarette smoke. And you reminded me of something: James and Matthew are beloved names in my family... hmm.. interesting..

i love this oh so much! it's not a problem that you don't update often because when you do it's so wonderful :) i love how they have that banter going on that jim and pam do so well. great chapter.

I LOVE this story! I've been looking forward to another chapter of it for a while, and all I can say about it is aaaawwwwwww.
And I don't mind the taking a while between updates. It makes the chapter more enjoyable when it is updated...

Great last line! It made me squee a little, I have to say. I completely love this fic, but it pains me that they are not together yet. You are toying with my emotions...just stringing me along. :)
And I immediately thought of this fic when I saw the pictures of JK in MEAN magazine...how frickin' perfect are those?!
Author's Response: so perfect that they are tacked on my wall. I screamed when I saw it in a window in Greenwich Village and I ran in to buy it bouncing up and down...I'm pretty sure the cashier thought I was insane.

I hadn't seen this story before but how adorable is this! I think my two favorite parts are when they play the "private eye" and at the end of this last chapter when he considers buying a leather jacket. Wow. Now I want to watch Grease and/or Rebel Without a Cause and/or The Office. Which one shall i choose.....

Oh *thud* Jim = James Dean. You have broken my brain.

Jim and Pam need to be in the 1950s always. This is just lovely. See? you've even got me talking like them :) Great work!

I greatly appreciate all of your hard work," he paused a moment, "and your friendship."
Aww..that brought me right back to his interview in "The Job." So sweet.
So excited to see a new chapter up, PPC! Hey, your username initials are the same as the Party Planning Committee.
Take as much time as you need between chapters. You're doing a great job keeping this story authentic.

OMG, this chapter was so cute. Pam and her famous sweaters, Jim buying her a coke (squee) and knowing to include a straw, and the obvious attraction between them. This is really getting good. That photo of you is adorable too! I like the visuals you include at the end.
Well, now that I've caught up, I will have to favorite this so that I know when you update!
Author's Response: thanks so much for all the wonderful reviews!! you are really too sweet. I'm going on vacation and plan to write while I relax so expect a new chap next week!! :)

Attaboy, Roy, always the great fiancee...not. Love the fireworks....brings my mind back to The Client and the "date." Jim starts off trying to be "the boss" and not horse around, but ends up getting all tousled and dirty playing football despite his best intentions.
Enjoying this story. Thanks!

Ooooh, let the games begin! Now she's his secretary, woohoo! Love the flirting between them and, of course, the UST.
Keep up the great work with this.

Oh, this was sad, but so sweet that Jim is a good boy and takes care of his mom. I'm not going to read the other reviews until I finish what you've written so far, but I assume Robert is either his dad or a brother killed during the war.
I also like the fact that Pam being engaged doesn't deter him from pursuing her. Go Jim!
