Do you still see reviews? I never read this back in the day and-- I apologize! It's gorgeous and perfect and funny and sexy and everything I loved about them, and about your work. Thank you for being part of this special time in my life (I've gotten nostalgic this week-- even wrote more!).

Hiii - I'm only a few days into my new guiltiest pleasure, reading Jim/Pam fics, and I realllly love yours! They're making me wonder why I resisted Office fanfic for so long. This one would probably be my favourite - the last few chapters are just the most wonderful thing ever. So glad you're still writing more - I'll now sit back and eagerly await an update on "nearing the edge" :)
Welcome, moonmouse! (And hold onto your hat -- the Office fanfics are addictive, and there are some amazing writers on this site!) I'm glad you enjoyed this story; I had a great time writing it. My favorite stories to write are the ones that just take hold of me and will not let go, so I ended up eating, sleeping, breathing them for a few weeks/months. (I realize I just outed myself as the world's biggest nerd....lol.)
Thanks so much for reviewing -- glad you're enjoying "Nearing the Edge" as well! (I'll be updating it pretty soon.)

This should so not be the last chapter!
You are so sweet! :o) I'm very weird in that I love writing angst (and can prolong it for chapters upon chapters -- as some frustrated readers might tell you, lol), but while I also enjoy writing happily together Jim & Pam, I tend to get bored with that after a few chapters. ("Only" is a fic of mine that has tons of happy Jim and Pam, right up to the wedding.)
Anyway, thanks so much for reviewing! (And sorry to be responding six months later....)

this. story. is. love. WRITE MORE NOW PLEASE!!!
Author's Response: Okay - first, your username is freaking hilarious. That said...thank you for the review! Unfortunately, the story's over, but I can tell you this: I am constitutionally averse to writing stories in which Jim and Pam don't end up together. :o)

This was freaking perfect....I heart you and have absolutly no words to describe how much I loved this. And I've re-read it far to many times to considered sane...now I think you said something about finishing ONLY? My fav fic? Hehe I can't freaking wait!
Author's Response: I'm really thrilled that you liked it!! ...And I'm even more thrilled to hear that you're looking for the "Only" update, because I posted it not too long ago! Thank you so much for reviewing!

Wow! This was just amazing. Whew! I'm honestly at a loss for words. I'm reveling in the emotional impact right now. Hopefully I can reread and come back with a less nonsensical review. Really wonderful...thanks for writing and sharing it.
Author's Response: Hey, any feedback is good - so thank you for taking the time! GLad you liked it --

Hey - it looks like my review for chapter 9 was lost! I had very profound things to say, but I guess right now I'll just tell you that it's almost two days later and I'm still thinking about this story.
Author's Response: Oh wow, really? Thanks so much - seriously. That's good to know! :o)

This chapter is amaaaazing. Just so hot, and emotional, and so full of what we hope Jim and Pam will be someday soon.
The following sections made me say "guh", and made my toes curl:
...he applied gentle pressure to one side of her neck with his thumb while at the same time languidly trailing his tongue down the other side.
She cried out when he began to move slowly, so he fumbled for one of her hands, clutching it tightly in his own as he felt himself slipping under
He'd drawn back to hold eye contact with her even as he moved inside her, their hands pressing tighter and tighter as the intensity mounted.
And I loved Pam saying his name just to hear what it would sound like to say it in that moment, and hen her saying his name for the other reason soon after.
And "This is really it". Perfect!
ooohhh, I love this.
Ah, thank you so much for such a thorough, specific review; I love it when readers point out the stuff that they liked most! So glad you enjoyed this - I had a lot of fun writing it (particularly this last chapter, in my wine-induced euphoria, hee).

Can I send you a bottle of wine to write more chapters like this?
Hee, gothkona! Glad you liked it - oh, and the wine flows freely in my household, so there'll be more chapters like this one (not in this story, but in others....)
Thanks for reviewing!

Okay, I LOVE the afterglow banter. So them.
I like how you made Pam hesitate about how far to go with it all, but being the one to back and finish it.
Also, the kitchen scene where any little thing caused them to make out? Awesome.
Anyway, I'm gushing, so thanks.
Author's Response: Glad you liked it, Lex! I didn't want it to end with the smut; just seemed like it'd be more fitting for it to end with their banter. And the any little thing causing them to make out in the kitchen - I really think that when they finally do cut the crap and get together, they'll have a hard time for a while keeping their hands off each other. :o) Thanks, as always, for reviewing!

wow. smut-fest extrodinaire! nice one. and a nice way to go out. with a bang (ha!). you SO knew you couldn't pull this off in just 3 chapters huh? ha!
Author's Response: I'm laughing at your going out with a "bang" comment. (My husband looked over just now and said, "You've got the biggest grin on your face." Heh.) And yeah - never again will I claim I'm writing just a short little piece. :o) Thanks for the review!

:::sigh::: LOVE. I just LOVE this and you for writing it! You're awesome Girl7. Just consistently bring me such happiness - even when it's in the form of angst. lol. Great story!
Author's Response: How sweet! Seriously, it's nice to hear that I bring you happiness. :O) ANd yes, I'm known for the angst, but I rarely leave things sad. The show does enough of that for me (grumble grumble). Thanks for reviewing!

I'm really enjoying it so far. I especially liked the bit about Pam feeling like she didn't really "know" Roy after 10 years. I went outside to have a cigarette after reading this chapter and had to put it out half way because I was anxious to read on!
Author's Response: Oh, I'm glad that part rang true for you! Thank you so much for the review~!

Okay, big swoon here. This last chapter had such a good rhythm and flow to it - really had the sense of an entire evening unfolding, and the tension/heat mounting. When she came back and just went for it, it really packed a visceral charge. (And I won't even go into how...uh, moving it was when he whispers 'come.') Especially loved that last bit of conversation - a nice, back to 'them' way to end it. I could go on, but it's late, I'm tired enough to be semi-coherent...so I'll stop here and just say - well played, girl7. Steam with heart (like this) is a beautiful thing.
Author's Response: I am so glad to hear that the rhythm seemed right to you, because I'd worried about the pacing here (not one of my strong suits). But what I really want to talk about is Rome! I'm still reeling from last night's episode...my god. Anyway, I digress - thanks, as always, for such a thoughtful review, my friend!

I don't know if I have the words to express how wonderful I think this fic is. It is one of the only stories I've read where I can continuously picture Jim and Pam and hear Jim and Pam in my head throughout, without their voices changing into something unnervingly "off". Your lovely and shockingly real words are nothing short of breathtaking. I appreciate the effort and the oh-so evident talent that went into this thoughtful and absorbing story. Thank you.
Author's Response: Wow - that really is a compliment; I'm so glad it rang true for you, because I find that it's too easy to slip out of their voices without realizing it. And thanks for being so vocally supportive about this; the encouragement makes such a difference! THanks for reviewing --

I have loved this story from the beginning. I actually get butterflies in my stomach just reading about how nervous and surreal it all is to them. You really create such a vivid picture - I love it. Perfect!!
That is such a compliment -- thank you! Whenever I write this particular moment (sad that I've written it so many times, eh?), I always try to imagine how it would really be in terms of the emotional implications -- and I think that they'd both just have to be freaked out by it. :o)
Thanks again for the feedback!

wow! The end of elsewhere was amazing. you write Jim and Pam's thoughts and emotions so well. I loved the kitchen scene, and Pam's comparisons between Jim and Roy. well done!
Author's Response: Thanks so much! Glad you liked Pam's interior monologue, because, as I mentioned in an earlier response, that was something I was concerned about. Thanks again for the review!

Lovely; this was so tastefully done and full of the tension that makes fanfiction fabulous. I've enjoyed this story from the start and can't wait for more! --C.
Author's Response: I'm so glad you thought it was tasteful! I joke, but there is something terribly personal about writing (and posting - god help me) smutty stuff. So it's good to hear that it doesn't come off as gratuitous or cheap. THanks so much for reviewing!

Well, my dear, this was SO worth the wait. I had this big silly grin on my face the whole time they were in the kitchen, being alternately cute and funny, and then serious and smoochy. Then, when she pulls him down on the floor? Whoa...( Although I KNEW that wouldn't be where they finally consummated things, please, this is a monumental moment, people...) I just KNEW she'd come back though, the whole inner monologue was perfect, this was IT, their time, and of course, she trusts Jim implicitly, so no fear...
And, honestly, the smut worked, awesomely, cause it's Jim and Pam. What can I say? We're hussies, and for a second there, we can pretend it's us instead of Pam. Hee...
So tell me, was MrGirl7 happy when you finished the wine and the story? Haha..
I'm thrilled to hear that a) it was worth the wait and b) that you had a huge grin as you read it. :o) Unfortunately (for Mr. Girl7), he has been sick and pitiful all weekend long. (Though he did just crack the funniest joke during Rome - a pivotal scene in which Cleopatra is literally throwing things at Antony -- very intense. Anyway, Mr. Girl7 all of a sudden said, "This is why we can't have nice things, Cleopatra!" I'm sorry - just had to share, because I'm still giggling.)
Anyway, thanks so much for the review!

That was an awesome update...from the dinner preparation to the great "after" scene...this was so cute and SO Jim and Pam...you really captured them well
Can't wait for more!
Author's Response: Thanks so much; I'm glad to hear that you liked it - and I so appreciate the feedback!

Wow, I loved this. For so many reasons, of course, but I particularly liked the many comparisons Pam made between being with Roy and being with Jim.
I'm really glad that you said that, because I know some readers are turned off by too much internal monologue - so I worried about whether or not to keep that in. But it was important to me to highlight the magnitude of what she was dealing with there, because I think it's hard for most of us to grasp the notion that she probably only has been with Roy and therefore would be a little uncertain about how to proceed with Jim -- or rather, when to proceed with Jim.
You're so great for being such a faithful reviewer, I swear. :o)
