I liked that a lot!  You really developed the character of the cameraman nicely, and I liked that you didn't portray Karen as the villain.  The whole arc on the show is more about missed opportunities than crazy girlfriends...  Nice job! :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much!  Wow, my first ribbon, its mind-boggling!

This challenge was my submission because although I am almost sure that the doc crew will utimately have something to do the union of Jim and Pam, I could not imagine how.  I needed some of the great minds here to figure it out.  I too, loved the Tim/Dawn moment and was tickled by your use of it.

Also, I love the point of view, and how it focused on Pam/Jim but not directly.  It was awesome to see things from a totally different perspective.  Thank you!!

Author's Response: First off, thanks for a great challenge.  I totally agree that the documentary crew seems to lead these characters sometimes, especially with Jim and Pam.  I'm really glad you enjoyed it since you inspired it!

aww!!! this is awesome and so unexpected! i love this: "it's in that moment that you realize you probably don't deserve her." how incredibly heartbreaking and precious all at once. i feel for every character in a different way, and sometimes it's nice to hate jim and feel sorry for karen. wait, did i really just say that???

great job.

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked that last line, I think that might have been my favorite part of the story.  Sometimes a little Jim-hate is needed when he's being such a doofus ;)

Ohhhhh I love this!  And not just because that is my favorite Tim and Dawn moment as well. ;)

I love how it's just so...unique and a perfect outsider view .  And I am a sucker for stories that paint Karen in a sympathetic light.  Just...bravo for this.  Yay!

Author's Response: Thank you!  I hate casting Karen in a negative way, and that means a lot, especially after I read like five amazing fics of yours that I hadn't yet this evening (I left reviews!).  Love your stuff, seriously.

I really like this. It's unique and very well written, plus I find myself rooting for Karen in a way, which is different. Team Paul!

Author's Response: Yay Team Paul! I'm so glad you enjoyed it :)

Oh I love this.  You get super duper bonus points for making Jim and Pam face reality AND giving Karen someone too.

Awesome.

Author's Response: Thank you! I love your stuff so that means a loot.

although I'm currently loathing karen in a few other stories, I'm so happy you created a character that appreciates her for who she is. And Jim is an asshole, a gloriously adorable asshole but an asshole all the same. GREAT JOB, one of my new favorite one shots :)

Author's Response: Thanks!  I do enjoy a good fic that makes me hate Karen, but in all honesty I really sympathize with her.  And I could see how someone could perceive Jim as being a real ass sometimes, although I love him anyway ;)

That? Was amazing. Paul is my new hero, in a roundabout, fanfiction way. He's the everyman, the guy who sees what really is. Great story.

Author's Response: I'm glad that you liked Paul!  I sort of named him after Paul Lieberstein because I just love him so much, hehe.  Thanks for reviewing!

Wow, great story! I love the originality of the cameraman's POV. I was excited about this challenge, and I'm bummed that more authors haven't taken advantage of it. As you've illustrated, there's a lot to work with here. I love how you wrote a Jim/Pam story, but it kinda wasn't about Jim and Pam. Excellent work.

Author's Response: Thanks!  I definitely wanted to try a different perspective without detaching it too much from the other characters that we already know.  How weird must it be for them to be spending their days filming other people work?  Glad you liked it!

Ok, you are making me feel badly for Karen and I don't want to do that!  I just want her to go already....

Very insightful detail that a Karen fan would be hating on Jim for hurting her.  So, I hope they can dislodge Karen from DM Scranton before she gets too attached.

Author's Response: I agree that I want Karen out of this JAM mess already, enough is enough, but I do feel sympathetic for Karen.  She's kind of stuck in the middle without having known what she was getting herself into, I hope she doesn't get to hurt in the end as well, but I think it might be inevitable.

This is incredibly good.  I love how well you've rounded out your protagonist and that Karen is like his Pam.

Author's Response: Thank you!  Which would make Jim Roy, which is kind of funny in itself, hehe.

Wow. You've turned this cameraman into a really compelling character and point of view with only a few details - nice job! It's always interesting to see things from the crew's perspective, as on the show they're clearly a character but at the same time, we don't know what they think. I also like how your ending works as an ending, but at the same time it's kind of a beginning - ambiguous endings are a nice change from the traditional happy ending once in a while. Great job all in all!

Author's Response: Thank you! I didn't want to tie the end up in a big sappy bow, especially since who knows what Karen actually thinks of this guy.  I wanted it to be more about this guy taking a step forward with his life and, in doing so, forcing people around him to do the same.  I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
