Please finish. I'm waiting for the happy ending right along with both of their mothers!
(Your story is excellent, and I like how each is so close to their mothers.)

Please continue this!! It's so different, coming from the moms' point of view. I am really enjoying it and was quite discombobulated that I couldn't find out how it ended!!! ;)

I really liked this scene; it felt very plausible and I would hope that Jim is actually talking to his mom about all of this craziness.  Otherwise, I think he would explode.

I loved them talking in person- it works really well b/c Jim can be very physically expressive, and you really have to see him to know what he's thinking.

“I think I’ve been spoiled,” Jim said suddenly.

“I don’t know what impression you’re under,” Mrs. Halpert answered, “but you’re not even our favorite child, so I doubt it.”

Hehe! Awesome. I can't wait for Larissa and Pam to meet.

Silly Gravity Defier. "They're really something" is good.  If it weren't good, I wouldn't even say it, because I learned from my muddah "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all" thing.  Tough words to live by, but I try

And I'd never review something in a snarky "well, that was something" way!  I just wouldn't review in that case!

I think it worked very well to have them talking in person! I think this was actually my favorite chapter, though I can't tell if it was because of the face to face contact or the content of the conversation. In any case, it's beautiful and sad, and those last two lines hit hard!

ooh I hope Larissa tells Jim how silly he's being and that boy wises up!  I did like having them talk in person, it works very well.  Continue soon please!! :)

It definitely worked to have them talking in person.  I think Jim is probably somewhat close to his folks.  I know in an earlier chapter you had him not seeing them very often, but particularly if he's back in the same town, I expect he'd swing by often enough.

The last 2 sentences are really something.  Let's hope it doesn't really go this way (Jim faking his way through life and a relationship)!

Author's Response: They're really something?  I hope that's good.  Either way, thanks for the review.

i loved it. it worked perfectly. in fact, i think sometimes her seeing the looks on his face worked even better.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for reading.  I'm thinking about doing something similar with Pam in an upcoming chapter, where the two Beesley woman are finally face to face.

Jim had always been cautious when it came to girls.  Despite his best efforts, he'd ended up with a girlfriend his junior year, Missy.  Larissa could remember him coming home from school one day, almost hyper-ventilating because she'd left books in his locker and what was that about?  They'd only gone to the movies a few times and now he felt like he had to take down his Jennifer Love something or other poster.

Hilarious, and it makes Jim's feelings for Pam all the more sweeter. I love how Jim's mom, like the rest of the world, can see that Pam's into Jim, but he can't. Silly boy. Can't wait for more chapters.

It was so infrequent that the television not be on Spike TV that she was taking what she could get.

That sounds so much like how I imagine Roy and Pam's home life to have been. Another great chapter.

"There's just so much missing,"

I really like this explanation of why Pam left Roy- it so perfectly encompasses all of the Jim issues and all of the non-Jim ones, like how R&P have grown apart, Roy doesn't support her dreams, etc.

i am really enjoying this. i loved that scene in the newpeat! itgave me hope for happy jam!

Author's Response: I just loved how happy Pam was in the added scenes, happier than we've seen her all season. I thought it would be nice for her mother to experience her happiness and not just her depression.

“It was the first time he’s smiled at me since he’s been back. I mean, smiled at me, because I‘m me.”

I love that line, and had never really thought about it that way, but you're absolutely right. Wow, I really enjoyed this chapter, and I think you've captured the characters really well in this story. Look forward to more.
