This is such an amazing story. I told my sister about it and copied the whole thing and emailed it to her (she can't access this site at work and doesn't have time to peruse the web at home). I put down the 6th Harry Potter to read it, that's how good it is! The imagery and emotion is so well written througout. I literally had my heart in my throat several times during your story. Thank you for writing it. It's such a lovely tribute to Jim and Pam!

Author's Response: Thank you so much!! Wow what a compliment, it's not an easy story to cut and paste since it's a little on the lengthy side.  I hope your sister likes it!!!  LOL and I can't believe I beat out the 6th Harry Potter...Whoa.

I just came across this and ended up reading the whole story at once. I kept wanting to know what happened next and it was just so well-written and heartfelt. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more of your stories. Great job!

Author's Response:

wow thank you! lol I always end up reading things in one read and being like "This is taking three hours and I should be sleeping...buuut I'm going to keep going." So I'm so excited that my story was like that for you ;-)

Beautiful ending to a beautiful story. This chapter was so emotional, it brought tears to my eyes through most of it. I hope you write something else soon.

Author's Response: aw thank you.  I'm glad I could bring tears to your eyes ;-)

Nice chapter!  I would have liked to have "seen" the painting, but going upstairs is good, and the painting's not going anywhere, right?

There are a lot of beautiful words here, but I think these may be my favorite: "His scent paced the floors, stretched out beneath the covers, ran its hands across her body and pressed kisses into her hair."  wow

This?  Is gorgeous.  This is spiritual.  I love it like... all those things you said Pam loved Jim like.  Oh, and them breaking the ethereal love making for banter?  THAT's what makes it Pam and Jim, and not just some beautiful description of two people going at it... And just, oh, everything else.  Seriously, seriously lovely and amazing at every poetic turn of phrase.  I am awed.  And sorry this is over!

Author's Response: wow I can't believe I didn't respond to this review yet.  I vividly remember when you left it, so...not sure why I didn't react then, but thank you so much.  I'm so touched that you were so moved! Hopefully the rest of my stuff lives up to this sort of epic story I started with, lol.

so. good. wow. seriously. this chapter was amazing. i am always amazed at how beautifully you write. there's so much emotion, you feel like you're IN the story. and even though you didn't create the characters, you made them your own. it's a beautiful story of hope and love. the forget-me-not is PERFECT. really great chapter and beautiful fic!

Author's Response:

thank you! I agonized over what the painting should be, and then that sort of just came to me after like three days of thought.

Anyway, thanks for reading!!!! I really appreaciate it.

Truly a masterpiece.  I add my voice to those who are hoping you write more here, although in all honesty people should have to pay to read your writing.  The scale and complexity of this and the quality of your writing are truly impressive.  And where can we order the painting?

Author's Response:

lol uh guess you'll have to paint it yourself.  it only exists in my imagination ;-)

And thanks for everything! Great compliments from a great beta.

I love this line its lovely "She reveled in the way he closed his eyes when she touched him, like all of his five senses couldn’t handle the battle he was waging and he was forced to succumb and give one of them up."

also when you were talking about the other men in Pams life, like the warrior men, I was like does that make Jim a gandhi lover. and that made me giggle.

ahhh great job. I loved this so much. I hope you write another epic chapter story to keep me happy and satisfied.

Author's Response: wow jim and ghandi...idk about that ;-)  Anyway thanks for reading and reviewing! Hopefully I'll start posting another story soon.

I have no words, really. This is by far the most amazing fic I have ever read, and the ending was just.... guh. Pure poetry. I hope I get to read more of your wonderful stories in the future. Well done.

Author's Response:

The ideas are brewing as we speak ;-)  They're great characters, so they just lend themselves to great stories.

A lovely, transcendant ending to this very poetic journey. I was particularly struck by the simple truth in this sentence: She was feeling the string that tied them to each other tugging her toward him…pulling her downstairs.

They are connected, no matter what. It pulled him back from Stamford, and from NYC, and from Karen. Thank you for not leaving this story unfinished. It is beautiful.

Author's Response: ;-) I do what I can.  Thanks for reading.

This was so infinitely beautiful I can't even tell you. I just cried. I don't think I've ever actually cried over another story on this site...and just tears over how BEAUTIFUL it was. The most beautiful love scene I've ever read bar none. Thank you so very much for this wonderful wonderful read. You are so talented.

Author's Response:

YES! I love making people cry!!! that is so the best compliment there is!

Thanks for sticking with me!

Ok, I'm just getting caught up on this story again and it's as good - if not better - than I remembered it. This chapter was just so, so beautifully poignant. Now THIS was definitely a "journey" for Pam. The show called there's that...but I don't know - I like this one better. :-) Very good stuff. Moving on to the next chapter! Will be sad to see this one end.

I really don't know what to say.  Or, rather, I know what to say, but I don't know how to say it.  This is, seriously, one of the best stories I have ever read.  Ever.  Forget fanfictions, you need to start writing books.  I'll buy 'em, I swear.  You're amazingly tallented.  Thank you so much for writing this story and sharing it with us.  It's beautiful.

Author's Response: lol thank you!! I tried to write the great american novel once, but it's still sitting on a jump drive somewhere unfinished.  anyway, thanks for reading, it means the world.

I might have to come back and review this again because I don't really have words right now.  You've effectively conveyed the essence of S2 Jim and the tiny glimpses we got of S2 Jim in S3.  You've showed him as someone so caught up in doing the right thing and in self preservation that now - a year later - suddenly being offered  everything he'd ever wanted and hoped for would undoubtedly make him crumble.  You brought that across most eloquently.   I'm a little shaky now having read this - in the best of ways I assure you.

I can't wait to see what you might write next - because you simply must write more.   Right now I'll simply thank you for sharing your obvious gift of words with us.

And  LOL!  I guess I found words :) - but honestly - I don't think anything I've said really does it justice.

Author's Response:

thank you so much.  Always thrilled to make someone shaky ;-)

Thanks for reading!
