The only bad thing about this chapter is that it's the last one until the premiere. Definitely you're best of the series!

First of all - thank god you posted part 2 because I finished part 1 and I was willing to harass you endlessly until you posted it. Second - why the hell were you nervous about this chapter? It was angsty and painful and real and GAH! You are the master and I bow to you! Stick a fork in me cuz I AM DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great revelations by Pam about what it would be like with Jim at the wedding. You've also done a great job showing the progression and slant of Pam's logic. The exchange with her mother is perfect. They do transcend labels, but it's more than enough for "meant to be". Not sure that makes sense (what I said, not what you wrote). Awesome job here...

THeir trip to the drug store was one of my favorite Jim/Pam outings, so I'm loving seeing the "extended version" of it--especially when Jim is great with the elderly and with kids.  I also liked how it wasn't all "away from the cameras" as some of the dialogue you brought in from the show related well to your story.

Yay for Jonathan coming back, despite the angsty circumstances. I'm soon going to start begging Pam to put Jim out of his misery. The poor guy has had about as much as any man can take...bring on Casino Night with a happy ending!

I don't know, I think Jim exhibited an extreme amount of control for someone that drunk. With the way Pam just keeps pushing him, I'm a little surprised more didn't come of this. I'm just aching for him (sigh).

Also, I should let you know that I bought the Snow Patrol CD this weekend...my husband asked why and all I could tell him was that it was highly recommended. It's great, so thank you for that too!

Author's Response:

Yeah, I guess he did, given how drunk he was.  I ache for him, too.  I mean, I write him into these horribly dark places, then I sit around feeling sorry for him....gah!  HE ISN'T REAL!  (I have the hardest time believing that.)

And yay for the Snow Patrol CD!  I listen to it every single time I write - it's all I listen to, tracks 3, 6, & 7 on repeat.  I blame 7 fully for all this angst of late.  :o)

I agree with your story that Jim represses so much around Pam that drunkJim is pretty dangerous.  Yeah, it's a little dark (understatement!) but your series has led Jim into this dark place - and it's a breaking point that sets them up for Casino Night (I am SO anxious to read your version of Casino Night).

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your comments!  I was thinking that yeah, it would have been great to have seen drunk Jim last season on the show like we saw drunk Pam.  Of course, that would've ruined things totally, but it would've been damned fun to watch.  :o) Thanks again for the review!

You're killing me here, you know that?  The angst is absolutely delicious.

Author's Response: I am so glad you're enjoying it - reallly.  Because I know it's a bit over the top, but I can't resist writing it.... Thanks for the review!

I fully expected Jim to get a cat out of a tree too :)

I'm glad you wrote about their trip to Rite-Aid. I've always wondered what happened between them in that store - it seems ripe for fan fiction!

Author's Response: Ha - I loved that particular story (well, the one with the kitten that he rescued).  Thanks for the review!

Can I tell you how much I love Jonathan Halpert?  I can't wait for him to be the best man :)

Author's Response: Ahhhh Kath -- what an image.  (Let me just close my eyes and picture Jim & Pam's wedding with Scott Foley/Jonathan there....) Thanks for the review!

Poor drunk Jim.  I do wish Pam had been more comforting. I loved Pam trying to lighten things up at work by saying that Jim said he loved Dwight more than his brother.

Author's Response: Yeah - a bit unrealistic that she could act fine around him at work after what he'd said to her.  But then, lots of what I've written has been, so..... :o)  Thanks for the review!

I loved that Jim bought her kind of shampoo!  This was such a sweet chapter.

Very dark, but very effective. The only quibble (which you may be planning to address) is that I'm not sure how their relationship rebounds from this to the easy cameraderie you see at the beginning of Casino Night. There's almost too much out there now. I loved every minute of it, mind you, it's just a question in my mind. I can't wait to see how it plays out!

Author's Response: I am really, really glad you mentioned this, actually -- I should clarify that, while these started out more as a strictly intended-to-be-fairly-realistic type of thing, they've veered way off course into much less plausible stuff.  And it's just because I absolutely cannot help myself!  But yeah, personally I think I veered into totally implausible a long time ago.  For one, if Pam got drunk around him as much as she does -- ?  And all the kisses on the mouth would NOT fly either, not even with the ultra controlled Jim Halpert.  So yeah, you are absolutely right, especially about this one -- way too much out there.  Just pretend.  :o)  Thanks, as always, for the review!

Oh, my poor Jim.  I wish I could make it better for you.  :-(

*still loves Jonathan*

*Even though he totally should have pushed Pam*

Author's Response: You crack me up with the Jonathan love!  Yeah, he should've pushed her more, but I figure that if he's a lot like Jim, he'd be too sweet to do it.  Damn those men.

*sigh*  Fluffiness abounds.  Not that I'm complaining.  Except...why don't I have a Jim?

Author's Response: ha!  That's why I wrote a brother for him -- there ought to be more than one out there.  :o) Thanks for the review!

I love this episode because she totally does seem as smitten with him as he is with her- and you capture that feeling beautifully here. C'mon Pam- he's perfect!

Author's Response: Yay!  ANd yeah - she did seem totally smitten with him in this episode, didn't she?  Some of the looks she gave him....
