This chapter just broke my heart. Her back and forth, the crazy thoughts about just wanting Jim back mixed with her realizations that he might never love her back felt so right and real and hurty.

Whoo! I felt bad for Karen, and I didn't want her to have to find out she was pregnant with Jim's baby--and, frankly, it would've been unacceptable for the rest of us, too. ;)

=( At first I was sad because I thought Karen was going to be having Jim's baby (good misdirect there). But then I was sad for Karen for not having a baby (not that I want her to have Jim's baby but I imagine it would be sad to think you are pregnant and then not be).

Oh, poor Karen. She didn't know whether it was relief or disappointment I know that feeling, and you capture it beautifully with your very quiet prose. All the details are so beautiful here...the rain, the way you describe her thoughts and her motions...it's lovely.

These stories are awesome. I am really enjoying each one. You're writing the characters perfectly, and, as others have mentioned, I'm enjoying the TH's at the end.
Poor Karen...I actually felt bad for her, for about five seconds. Glad she wasn't one of the pregnant ones, though. That would be awkward....

This is such a cool story. You were able to capture the voices of all the characters very well and I love the talking heads with the fathers at the end of each chapter. Excellent job! :)
