"happy, if emotionally restrained" sums it up pretty well...

I loved this chapter.  My favorites:

oh, well, flare gun, you're all set ;-)

well, for a while my tea tasted like pencils and hot sauce ;-)

but then I figured it out

Lovely. :)

I liked so much of this chapter. The light banter, the fact that Pam mentioned the tea pot, how Jim helped inspire the CIA present. Way to connect stuff there!

Awwwwww. So cute! And I love Jim telling her she's "all set" with her flare gun. *smort*

I wish I could believe that they were close enough after the prank that they could have been IMing this!  Ah, well...season 4, right?

I love that she tells him she uses the teapot.  Awww!

Good linking in of Future Dwight.

Author's Response: Yeah, I agree this chapter was a bit of a stretch. It's really a bit of a stretch to believe they IMed at all during season 3, but that would defeat the purpose of my story. However, Pam did IM first, hinting towards her building up courage. I think you'll also notice that while in S2 Pam almost always kept things light, and Jim would be the one kind of trying to get more personal. Now in this chapter, Jim's the one talking about superficial stuff (wrapping paper) while Pam is trying to go deeper (brining up Karen, telling him she still uses his teapot). As for Future Dwight, I was actually planning to use that in Initiation, but then that chapter took a different direction (in other words, I forgot) so I thought I'd mention it here.

Ooh, the plot thickens. I liked Pam's sly mentioning of the K-sitch. She's got just enough courage to...mention it online. Always love seeing updates to this story!

Cute line from Pam about the hot-sauce-and-pencil tea.  Hee!

Aww, love Pam talking about her teapot.  How cool would it be to see that teapot on the show again?

That was so cute! I loved that! I really liked how forward Pam was in calling out Jim about Karen. Great job!
