Chiming in late and with nothing original to say. Great chapter! I also really liked the "this is why" part. Made me tear up. I don't know what's happening to me. I normally just hate sentimentality. These two characters are ruining me!! :)
Author's Response:
I'm sorry I've ruined you. But I'm glad I have company in the sentimentality department. :) Thanks so much!

This almost made me cry. Seriously, the 'this is why' part, when Pam was watching him...I saw it. It's so true, I can see him in my mind's eye being like that, just appearing in the world as that kind of person. It's amazing, because there are not that many real people like that in the world, I haven't found one yet. It would be a dream come true for me to find somebody, and I think that's why I love this show so much, because of Jim's character, and why so many other people love the show for the same reason. He is the ultimate dream guy, and not because he's cute and funny and charming, but because of those reasons that you just showed. Because he's just a beautiful person.
Thank you for writing this, really. You're doing an amazing job. :)
Author's Response: Aw. Thank you moirariordan. I am fully aware that I myself am head over heels for Jim Halpert. And if I can't have him - I'm going to make damn well sure Pam does. LOL! I'm so happy you liked it Thank you so much for letting me know!

Wow, this was an amazing chapter. I think we all knew there was SOME reason Jim is the way he is, and I think you depicted that perfectly. I'm probably just reiterating what others have said, but I think it's also fitting that Pam is still the one holding back, but she's still able to let go at the end here (so to speak). Great job!
Author's Response: I think in this story Pam has finally reached a point where she'll be a little less closed off - literally and figuratively. :) And once the thought of Jim being the "man of the house" idea got stuck in this silly brain of mine it would not let go. I'm glad you agreed with my imagination. ;)

I really appreciate the idea that Pam is still holding back and Jim is waiting for the other shoe to drop. It isn't going to be all puppies and flowers when (not if, WHEN) they get together. This backstory you've created for Jim is really, really true to what we know about him, and Pam's realization is also spot-on (because she can be dim when it comes to him, can't she?). This chapter was very nice.
Author's Response:
Most definitely WHEN. Thanks, you're totally understanding my intention in this. This is my "Pam's gotta step up" fic because that poor boy has nearly worn himself out. I'm so glad you liked it.

Oh, wow. Yeah, that is now my canon for why Jim is how he is.
Author's Response: Until I find out otherwise....mine too. ;) Thanks Lissa_Maylee!

Aw! Pam is getting back on my good side. The thought of Jim's father (dying? leaving?) when he was sixteen breaks my heart. This was wonderful. I absolutely cannot wait for the next chapter! I need to see how this all came to be. Don't keep us waiting for too long.
Author's Response: As I mentioned - I didn't want to get too much into it. I just knew that I wanted his father to be gone at some pivotal point in his life. You can fill in the blanks as you wish.
Author's Response:
Sorry! I hit submit too soon!! It breaks my heart too - I want them happy ASAP so am working as fast as I can!!
Thanks so much for all your reviews. I truly appreciate it!

Ok, you know how I said the last chapter was awesome--well this was more awesome. (Remember--me having a few drinks=incoherent reveiws). Anyway, I liked the thought of why Jim is the way he is--it fits him. And, though I like the smut, I like the way you will leave it up to the imagination as well. As usual, well done.
Author's Response: Still killing me - mostly because you sound very much like me when I drink and post. ;) You are not incoherent at all. I'm very glad you liked it.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS.
You are SO good. Love all the details about his family and Pam's epiphany. I just love it.
Author's Response: YAY! I'm SO glad. As I said - I don't usually get this in depth but I'm so happy you liked it.

What a warm and beautiful chapter - I love that Jim walked his sister down the aisle - and Pam's realizations of why Jim is the way he is. Just perfect.
Author's Response:
thanks kaystar. I do too. Can't you just see it????
Sigh.

I got chills from this. Guh.
Author's Response:
Did you really?? That's awesome. I actually recycled some of that from another story I wrote. I was worried that it wouldn't work. I'm glad you think it did.
