I love this- because Pam's concern is so real, and so natural. I love that she feels happy and comfortable there except for the huge source of unhappiness and discomfort that she had no idea she'd be facing. I like that Jim was legitimately happy to see Anne- because I think being with Pam has healed the Anne-sized wound forever, even if Pam doesn't know it yet. Beautiful.

So intense. Pam's claustrophobia was contagious. And the quiet room with Jonathon on the piano and little Jess coloring: magical. I'm worry for Pam's train of thought though...

I want to be mad at this chapter. It's sad and it's angsty and it hurts to read, and I should be mad at it.
But I can't be mad at it. It's so beautifully written that nothing else matters. Even the "moments" section that makes my heart droop a little is so deliciously written, I can't help but say it's good.
See it's stuff like this I love. And it's placed you squarely on my favorite authors list. (High praise, indeed! :P)
On to the next chapter!
Author's Response: oooo deliciously written?!? Wow that is an amazing compliment, thank you so much. And I CAN'T believe I'm on your favorite authors list!!!!!!! I'm so excited by that!!

Before I go any further, I have to stop and say this is where I left off last night when I couldn't sleep. So good up until now. Love the Family Halpert - so warm, so fun you've made this holiday so real.
Sorry, I have to move on and finish, but I've really enjoyed this so far!
Author's Response: thanks Sweetpea! I'm glad I could give you something to read when you couldn't sleep, that's the worst. Thanks for reviewing!

I can't wait to see where you are taking us with this story. What I thought was merely wonderful Christmas JAM fluff has turned dark and deep and I love it!
Because suddenly she was terrified that this meant that Jim had an M.O. Suddenly it seemed like Jim was this certain type of guy who over-romanticized and who fell in love and had his heart broken over and over again, and Pam was just another tragic romance in a long line of many.
This paragraph gave me chills! Nice work.
Author's Response: Thank you! Just something I've always wondered about since season three started... what if Jim just does this? Anyway of course I couldn't stand to let that be the case, but I thought I'd throw it out there into the fanfictional abyss. Thanks for reviewing, I love it!

Oh my goodness, I can't wait for more updates. The faster the better. I really love this angle of Jim having the awkwardness of a former flame hanging around. I can actually feel Pam's discomfort. Loving it.
Author's Response: Thank you so much!! Yeah, who hasn't been in that awkward position? Am I right? ;-)

You are such a good storyteller. But, damn, now I want to know all the backstory of this girl from Jim's past who broke his heart. I have a sneaking suspicion that Jim isn't going to want to volunteer too much.
Well, you certainly surprised me with this little angsty twist, but I trust that you will make everything all happy in the end. Woohoo for more Christmas fic! I'm at work today and tomorrow, so this helps. [/Pam]
Author's Response: haha maybe I should write a spin-off about Anne and her life before, during, and after Jim Halpert. Working on Christmas Eve?? Yikes. I'm glad I could help you out ;-) ;-)
