Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! If the premiere weren't in a few days, this would've made my week! It's a close second, though. I've been waiting for this all summer, and it was kind of like a season-ending cliffhanger. But you've wrapped it up nicely. If you choose not to continue this story, I'll be happy with the ending. But I've re-read the first few chapters about 14 times, no joke, because It's probably seriously my favorite first date fic of all.

Author's Response: Hey Mountaineers, I was thinking of you the other day when I was finishing this chapter and watching CU steal an unexpected victory from WVU ;) I've got a few more bits in the works before it's over, but it's all outlined and ready to go. Thanks so much for the kind words... means a lot to me!

Callisto, I'm so glad you decided to finish this story! It's one of my favorites. I think you have such a great grasp on their characters and at portraying what this time must have been like for them, with all the highs and lows. I also loved the detail about the armchair - didn't you mention that they had lots of fond memories in one of your other stories? I like it! Looking forward to the next installment!

Author's Response: Thank you! Like I've said, there are a lot of things I feel like I should go back and change/edit/cut/fix, but I'm going to just run with what I've got here. And yes, that armchair is apparently a fixture in my Jim and Pam world. I've got it all mapped out now so it shouldn't be too long before this is finished. Thanks for sticking with me! :)

They're so sweet together, and you capture that beautifully. I'm glad you came back to this story so I could find it.

Author's Response: Hey lis, thanks for that. I was so close to just pulling this story down and then I saw quite a few people had favorited it! So now I've got a plan and it should be finished pretty soon. Thanks for sticking with it :)

Wonderful story. Your characterization is just excellent. My wife and I have an ongoing debate about whether or not they "consumated" their first date or not, and I'm usually on the other side, but your portrayal is very convincing. I also like that he understands that he needs to find a way to accept the "Roy Years." Can't wait for more!!!

Author's Response: Thanks Desslok. I've actually decided that it really could have gone either way; maybe I'll write another one that ends differently. I kind of love how much mystery still surrounds how their first months were together... gives lots of free rein to our imaginations. Thanks for reading! More coming soon.

Yay Callisto!!!

I wasn't sure if you'd get around to finishing or updating this one now that you've started school.

But, I'm so so glad that you've updated.  I love this story.  I love your take on Jim and Pam, in general.  I haven't had time to review (or read) lately, so I'll try to make this quick.

I just love that this issue was resolved without a huge display of melodrama - just very natural.  I like that you've allowed Pam to have a real relationship with Roy. I hate to think that it was always bad - I just think the way you've described that relationship is so perfect.   And I liked that Pam is a bit protective about her relationship with Roy.   I loved this exchange:

He frowned. “But how did you keep it going so long? You didn’t have anything in common.”

“We did, though.” I sat up a little. “Not like you and I do, but…we grew up in the same neighborhood. We went to the same church. His dad and my dad knew each other—his dad’s in construction, and my dad’s an electrician, you know, so they sometimes worked on the same job sites, and we were all…the same kind of people, I guess?” I sighed. “I didn’t know it could be… like this.” I gestured at the space between us.

Anyway, lovely job as always. Can't wait for more.

Author's Response: zeebee, nice to hear from you as always! I have no business doing this but hey, they don't call it an 'obsession' for no reason. :) As for Pam and Roy, I've always felt Roy gets a bad rap. There had to have been some very good reasons she stuck with him for so long--reasons that weren't all about her 'fear' and 'insecurity' and all that. And there's something to be said about having a long history with somebody. Anyway, thank you so much for the review! I had absolutely given up on this story so it's good to know there's still a bit of an audience out there. Thanks!! :)

The talking about what's bothering them?  Definitely working out for them.

I'm so glad to see that you're writing again!  (And if you're in 'a mood' (see: spoiler thread), feel free to work through that by writing some more  ;o)

Author's Response: Hey lisa! Good to hear from you! I have to admit that the other stories I wrote over the summer changed my perspective a bit on what their relationship is like, but I'm gonna work with what I started and finish this puppy up. Oh and I should definitely stay off the boards when I'm having as bad a day as I did today. Definitely not fit company for anyone! But you're right... writing ALWAYS helps. Thanks for sticking with me :)

Oh, I'm so happy to see this story updated again! Yay!

Author's Response: Well, I'm glad to see a couple of people are still reading it! Thanks :)

Callisto, just imagine how happy I was to get an e-mail that there was an update to this story.  It gave me a reason to reread it from the start.  Love how you resolved the "football incident" tension.  Really looking forward to more (soon, I hope).

Author's Response: I have to say, I really wanted to go back and edit the bejeezus out of this story, but hey, it is what it is. I'm glad you're enjoying it and I still seem to have an audience of two or three :) Thanks for sticking with me Nan!
