Collette, your use of details is astounding. You create such a sense of place. And of course you know these two characters inside and out, and capture that tone of familiarity that balances their friendship and their lust. Two great chapters so far.

Author's Response:

First, I love that you felt a balance of friendship and lust here. Also, I really wanted to create that sense of place, so hooray for that too!

But enough about me - you know I always love getting your feedback, but now with a brand new babe at home, I especially appreciate it...when my first was that young, it was rare I managed to shower, pay the phone bill and boil spaghetti all in one day, much less read/write anything. By the second, I realized I wouldn't damage her for life if she cried a nano-second before I dropped everything and ran to her aid. But I digress...thanks so much, nqllisi!

"He sighed faintly, then as if driven by some unconscious self-protective instinct, moved his hand from where it was flung over his head to his belly, wrapping it loosely around his early morning erection."

Good God. I can't - I can't even speak. Such a mental picture.

This chapter was great, Colette. I'm really looking forward to the next one.

Author's Response:

See now, Jim holding that spring roll in his hand brought that mental picture right to Pam's - okay, my - mind. Calling Dr. Freud.

Glad you're still enjoying Talkative. This is a fun one to write. Thanks much!

I'm suddenly in the mood for Chinese food. :-) I think I love the effect MSG has on Pam too!  Can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response: Chinese food...that's what we're calling it now? Glad you're sharing the MSG-fueled lurve...next chapter won't come with a side of egg rolls, but it will be kinda spicy. Think of this fic as a combination plate, lol. Thanks, as always my friend!

This is so...great. I always love your Jim and Pam fics, and this is no exception. Can't wait for the finale chapter, even though it'll be sad to see this one end.

Author's Response: You are too kind, honeypioneer - and I'm really happy you're reading and liking this one. Thanks, as always!

You can tell a story! I love Pam all hot and bothered, Check Please! Lovely.

Author's Response: Why, thank you, iwantphillyjim! Glad Dim Sum Pam worked for you.

I have been waiting all day to get home and read this chapter and I must say, totally worth the wait!

I love the how naturally you capture their interaction here.  From the simple gesture of Pam hooking her finger through Jim's belt loop to the way they so easily play with each other over the fortune cookies.  I am absolutely looking forward to chapter 3.  Thank you, once again, for sharing.

Loved this:  Good fortune awaits you at the end of the day,’ he pauses to ponder, running his hand over the stubble on his chin. Think that means I’m gonna get laid later?’’

Author's Response: So happy it was worth it! And it's always great to hear when the characters' interactions seem natural...cause that's the thing with the show - it never feels stagey (one reason I like it, when 90% of sitcoms leave me cold.) And since you cited that line, here's a (not so) cryptic spoiler: it's a wise cookie. Thanks so much, WIL!!

Woww. I'll never look at Chinese food the same.

Very vibrant chapter, I love all the abundant details about China town. Really descriptive!

Author's Response: So many images of Chinatown are etched in my brain dating back to when I was a kid - it was really fun to share them. Thanks much, flonkerton!

adfalkjfds. I do not even know what to say to you anymore aside from, 'I LOVE YOU.' This story is just so fantastic and full of detail and and-

I love this especially, 'Pam hooks her finger through Jim’s belt loop as he leads the way up the twisty stairs..'

And everything else too. The way you write them is just so perfect and lovely and sexy even when they're just walking around. Can't wait for the next chapter.

Author's Response: You know, I was concerned I'd maybe over-detailed this chapter (I love that kind of stuff, but wasn't sure everyone would share my fascination) - so really happy that it worked for you.  And, the belt loop - kind of partial to that bit myself. Not sure why, but there was just something about that image that got me. Thanks, as always, so much unfold! More soon, I promise ;-)

How do you make Chinese food incredibly sexy? How? Gorgeous, fantastic job as ever.

Author's Response: The secret recipe: take one part Jim, add one part Pam, and stir into a big wok full of Chinese food. Voila! Thanks bigtunette!

Now see - when I was just down there for Jury Duty there was no sign of Jim.

Maybe it was one of those times that Pam didn't let him out of the apartment.

Who can blame her?

The picture you paint here is so vivid - that even if I wasn't born and bred around these parts I would be able to see it clearly.

And that (and also because of the steady dose of steam throughout) is exactly why you're so clearly awesome. :)

Author's Response: I love hearing 'vivid'...like music to my ears. And Pam must have kept him occupied, knowing you were around - but she's not the jealous type, you know. Well, maybe a little. ;-) So happy you're enjoying this little NYC love fest - many thanks, xoxoxo!

I've never wanted Chinese food so badly in all of my life.

Author's Response: Have to admit, writing this chapter left me craving a little Mu Shu Jim too. Thanks thatswhatshesaid!

Love this little morsel: like watching someone try to thread a needle while wearing a catcher’s mitt.  I bet that's not the only difference between Jim & Roy's hands.

I wonder if after Pam pounces on Jim, will she be hungry again an hour later?

Author's Response: You may be right...but no problem - I think Jim would be happy to dish up seconds. He's a generous guy. ;-) Thanks much Lisa...now, let's take a moment to ponder those hands, shall we?

I'm sorry I don't have time for a more thoughtful review right now, but I just wanted to say this was just lovely. I started reading fanfic on this site about a year ago and after I came upon one of your fics, I remember spending a good part of my day devouring all of the stories you had posted.
Anyway, your stories always leave a smile on my face, and this one was no exception.
Gorgeous and sexy! How I wish I were Pam...sigh.
And I love love love chinatown and dim sum, so imagine how excited I am about your next chapter!

Author's Response: Wow, how incredibly flattering. I think I'm cyber blushing ;-) Seriously, so great to hear how much you've enjoyed my fics - and I'm happy this one doesn't disappoint. Chinatown is posted and one more chapter is on the way, so stay tuned. Thanks so very much, zeebee - really appreciate your generous comments!

Awesome! This is beautiful writing - I really like thinking about them doing all these things together :D

Author's Response: Thanks, untherapy! I really like writing about them doing these things together, so win-win...

Thank you for giving me hope in fanfic and fic!Pam again.

I love this. I love their cute orgasm banter and their love and their support and all of it.

Your writing is breathtaking.

But now she needs to figure out how it fits into the rest of her life. At this point, Jim is her only given.

Author's Response: Thanks so much, quotidianzenith! Glad this made you happy. More later today (Gods of fanfic willing ;-)

a bag of rich gooey cookies called PB Orgasms he'd spotted at a nearby bakery.

‘Didn't you already give me one of those this morning?' she'd teased.

‘Two, actually,' he'd simultaneously blushed and looked smug. ‘I mean, if I were keeping track....'

‘But those weren't peanut butter flavored,' she'd laughed, biting into a cookie.

‘Yeah, I'm working on that.'

Delicious.

Colette, your's continues to be the name that makes me grin like crazy when I see it on the Most Recent page. This was no exception.  Your brand of summer in the city is fantastic!

Author's Response: It must be symbiotic, because I do the same thing when I see your name there ;-) Hooray for summer in the city and for this lovely review - muchas gracias, LF!

As always, Colette, just lovely!

The PB Orgasms had me chuckling but these few lines I thought were really sweet:

It’s clear her being there means a lot to him, and it means a lot to her that it means a lot to him. That’s a whole lot of a lot and of course she’s going.

And I just loved the final four sentences.

She’s ready to go home. To his home, which became their home shortly before she left for New York.

So, here they are, walking across this bridge on the hottest Sunday of a summer of hot Sundays. It’s pretty damn magnificent.

Author's Response: Funny, I wrote that 'a lot' line exactly as it first popped into my head...I guess sometimes you really have to go with that first impulse, lol. Thanks, VB - happy you're enjoying this!

"It’s pretty damn magnificent."

Like this story. Thank you for writing it. It's how I picture them...in love and solid with it. Enjoying each other and enjoying New York.

I can't wait for dim sum. :)

Author's Response: Thanks, Elle. So happy this is working for you!

Damn, Colette, now you make me wanna visit New York again. The love for your city comes through loud and clear, as clear as Jim's love for Pam. PB Orgasms? Cute. Tiny rose quartz elephants? To die for! Can't wait to see what comes next!

Author's Response: I actually have a tiny rose quartz elephant good luck charm, so I'm tickled you liked that. And I have had cookies called Chocolate Orgasms...but sadly, Jim had nothing to do with either of those things, lol. Happy you like this, NEJ. Many thanks!

As always, you can say in a thousand or so words what takes most of the rest of us pages and pages. I could quote at least ten really great lines but I particularly liked this bit :

It’s clear her being there means a lot to him, and it means a lot to her that it means a lot to him. That’s a whole lot of a lot and of course she’s going.

Well, of course she is.

Anyway, this is (unsurprisingly) beautiful and vivid and I can't wait to see what happens with dim sum.

Incidentally, what kind of dinner can you make out of strawberries, corn and tomatoes...? Kidding, of course. You bring the city alive. :)

Author's Response: Too kind, callisto. I love hearing you thought this was vivid - that's high praise to me. Hope the dim sum doesn't disappoint. Many, many thanks! (Btw, what kind of dinner? A really yummy one. ;-)

I'm sorry to be using the reviews section for this, but, lisa, did you just say "Jimpiter"? Have you been hanging onto that, or did you just come up with it? Either way, I'm scared.

Author's Response: Well, personally, I'm thinking of setting my next story entirely on Jimpiter...kind of like Atlantis for fan girls ;-)

COOKIE!  Yum.

Yes, Miss Pam.  Jim is nothing like Roy.  "Even after a year, she sometimes felt like she was adjusting to customs on an alien planet."  Yup -- she's living on Jimpiter now.  You gotta love how he just dives in to explore what Pam's world is like in NY in the summer, and how difficult it is to leave after the weekend.  HooHusband made some early Monday morning drives to work shortly after we met.

Author's Response: More cookies in the oven, Ms. Hoo. And where do I go to get beamed up to this Jimpiter? Sounds like my kinda planet ;-) Glad you could imagine Jim exploring the 'hood - I think he'd be interested simply cause it was hers, and also to give her a little time and space to work. And also to look for....cookies. Mm hm. Thanks, you!!

If this isn't how the summer went, I am going to personally kill whoever writes the season premiere.

Thanks for giving me hope in light of many bleak summer fics =) I especially liked this because it shows how Pam can be independent and STILL be with Jim. Most fics seem to think she can't have both. I really loved this:

Finding a balance turned out to be a lot easier when the other person realizes there’s a point where he ends and she begins.

YES.

Author's Response: Happy to hear that line rang true for you - far from suffocating her artistic impulses (a la Roy), I don't think Jim needs her to be all about him. Glad you agree. Thanks much for reading and reviewing, flonkerton
