I'm a huge fan of what-ifs, and a bigger fan of you!

I can't wait for the rest of these, particularly the back from vacation one.  It's something I've always wondered and I can't remember it being explored much. I'm sure you have great things planned

I love this. I love your work. Can't wait for many more of your scenarios of "what if's." This is much more realistic of Jim's personality than what the writers did with him in Season 2.

Whoa. That was amazing. I seriously loved it. So in character for both of them, and just so heart-wrenching and scary and then beautiful. Awesome. I can't wait for more of these.

I have a soft spot the size of China for 'what if' stories, especially involving Booze Cruise.

Pam hesitating to set a date? Roy's obliviousness? Jim giving Pam time to think about it? So good. This really works as a one shot. :) Awesome story.

First of all, I love the song you have choosen for this chapter. I think the premise of the story is very creative.

I love the tone of this chapter, filled w/ just the right amount of angst and hope. The words that Jim tells Pam are so heartbreaking. I think the end of the chapter where Jim tells Pam "I know it's complicated." and  "And that's okay. ...I can wait." Are so true to the real Jim. He knew that his confession of love would be hard for Pam and here he is patient w/ her. I think that is the true essence of Jim's understanding of Pam.  He knew that his confession would shake up her world and you have made him wait for her.

This is such a great idea! Their entire relationship is characterized by missed opportunities; you have so much to work with here.

For a second she thinks he's going to press his mouth to hers again, but instead he takes in a deep breath, meeting her eyes squarely, his voice husky and low: "I know it's complicated."

She starts to shake her head -- habit, not instinct -- but he lifts his chin as if in defiance of her disingenous gesture. "And that's okay. ...I can wait."

If only he'd been that patient, and less desperate, when it finally went down on casino night... well. I'm looking forward to seeing how you treat some of their other missed chances.

I absolutely love this idea, girl7, and cannot wait to read more. What an excellent way to play with the possibilities in their relationship.

Great chapter! I love this idea.

Thought I'd add in a couple of other possible scenarios for you.

If Pam noticed Jim taking the christmas card in season 2
If Jim said yes to coffee in merger.
if Pam was honest with Jim in merger
If Pam had been honest with Karen in Ben Franklin when she asked her if she was inetersted in Jim?

Anyways keep it up, cant wait for next chapter!

Wow. Very well done! I loved your descriptions. I wish the writers had done it this way. Can't wait for the next installment!!!

Oh, that was beautiful. I love your descriptions and the in-character-ness of it all (look, I made up a phrase just for you). I could really see this unfolding as I read, and I couldn't help wishing it had actually gone this way. Still lots of room for angst, but with some hope too.

I can't wait to read more of these, especially the Diwali one. I've been dying to read that exact scenario in a fan fic and I know you would do it justice.

Oh I like you, girl7.  First, I love the idea of this series of one shots.  God, so many times things could have been so, so different with one word, one acknowledgment from either of them.

I love your writing - the way you build the tension, and your imagery is beautiful.  In your stories I can always picture every detail because your writing makes it impossible not to.

Awesome job - I cannot wait for more!  :)

OK, first of all I love this premise. I also am tremendously excited to get in on the "ground floor" of a new story of yours! Yay!

As to this chapter...yep. It could have happened just like this. I love that you've taken what I've always felt were Pam's thoughts and feelings in Casino Night and inserted them here. It was complicated. Beautiful mood building here, and the dialogue feels right-on. I can't wait for more!

Wow.  This left me just breathless!  Your phrasing is so beautiful and you are spot on in your characterizations of Pam and Jim.  I like how Jim becomes more confident as the story proceeds.

Can't wait for the next one!

Oh, girl7 -- you are going to torture us with all the 'if only's aren't you?  Or maybe heal them.  Guh.

This is the very essence of why Pam belongs with Jim & not Roy: Or what it means that Jim's always here when Roy should be, but never is.

I'm glad you are making good use of your summer vacation.  ;o)

Just when I think I've read all the interpretations of "Jim actually says something on the Booze Cruise," here comes one of my favorite authors with a new one :) Great job! I can't wait to see what else you've got in store for this series :)

okay, so all summer, i've kind of felt like something was missing around here. everything that's been posted on this site is always great but something just felt...weird. this was the missing piece. season 2 is always the place to go back to...you almost need that heartbreaking angst to get to your happy ending, and you, girl7, are definitely one of the great writers of those fics. and so i salute you and i look forward to reading many, many more of these self-contained stories. yay!
