this was so cute! i'm sure i've read this before, but i can't remember!

please keep going with this, it's so cute! if only in the modern-day world of season 6 they'd actually have a single JAM moment.... seriously it's starting to kill me. just have a 10 clip of Jim. and Pam. doing anything together. anything! sorry, end of gripe.

but really, please keep going, i was laughing so hard as i was reading this, it's so good!

These are two really fun chapters. I wish there were more stories them just existing together without the angst. I hope you'll add on.

I'm so glad you added another chapter to this! I really enjoyed reading Pam's POV about Jim. I can imagine Jim being just like you write him. Great work. Loved it.

Author's Response: Thanks JamJunkie14! Glad it rang true. Thanks for the review! :)

I probably don't need to tell you that these sorts of everyday moments are a personal fave - especially when they ring as true as these. Ditto what everyone has said about laundry, zombies, his not being a boy at all sometimes ;-) Luscious.

And count me in as another who thinks Jim is a reader. (In fact, he screams former English major to me.) I've written him that way in several fics too, and once got a comment along the lines: But he didn't read Angela's Ashes for the FTC! But I totally get that - I'm a big reader, yet if there's a book I'm not in the mood for, or it's not my cuppa, or whatever - just can't do it. (Thank god I was better about that when a student. lol.) Also, I think the point there wasn't about him not reading, but him not wanting to be excluded from anything involving Pam - plus his being such a goofball ;-) But I digress....I loved the part here about his having lots of books and his reaction to her suggesting he depart with any of them. That's my boy! This was great fun.

Author's Response: Mine too, Colette. All the little things they won't show us are the things that fascinate me most. I'm very pleased the zombie thing went over so well. I know it's true of a lot of the guys that age I know, but it's one of those things we've never seen about Jim. Of course, I also think he's way more of a geek than he'll ever let on, lest Dwight find out. ;) The reading thing... Jim's just too literate and witty to not be a reader. Or maybe I'm just unable to separate that aspect of JK from Jim. But I don't think so. I'm a reader too, but I won't read absolutely anything put in front of me, so I'm giving him a pass on Angela's Ashes. (Also I agree with your take on what that was really all about.) Anyway, I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for reviewing! :)

You have such a fluent writing style. I hope you feel inspired enough to continue.

Author's Response: Thank you Pisa! I appreciate that. :) If anything else comes to me, you guys will be the first to know. :)

Oh, such a pretty picture of happy togetherness. I especially like your Jim voice, here- you have him say things the way he would really say them. It's good. Yay, happy fluff!

Author's Response: Thanks for that! I try hard to get the voices right, so I appreciate that. And, yeah, I guess I'm in the mood for happy fluff. The world needs more happy fluff. Thanks for reviewing nqllisi! :)

Another "too cute for words" installment. My fav quirk was the socks - very believeable. Such a long way to those feet - no wonder they get cold. And good for Pam and her flexible toes.

I hope you write more of these from either perspective.

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked that and thought it believable--I was wondering if everyone would think that was a bit much, but I did know a guy once who had, um, issues about his feet. :) We'll see what comes to me. Apparently I enjoy avoiding homework whenever possible. Thanks for reviewing jazzfan! :)

So, Jim doesn't wear socks like during...all of the time...does he? 'Cause that would make a mental image in my head that I don't really want to experience. :-0
Just kidding. lol. I love little stories like this that just give insights that we'll never know. The beauty of fanfiction, right? Two people learning to live together is such an adjustment, but they're gelling well, I would think.

Author's Response: Well, that remains to be known. But I think Pam's made her point and the socks will be coming off in certain...situations. :) Yes, this is why I love fanfic. They'll never show us any of this stuff, so we get to make it up. Yay! Thanks for reading Mountaineers! :)

I'm glad the mood struck you to add Jim's quirks. :)  These are quite fun and easy to picture in context of character.  I'll keep my fingers crossed that the mood strikes you again. ;)  Thank you for sharing.

Author's Response: We'll see... I like these kind of unconnected one-shots where if something else comes to me I can just add it on. Glad you liked it! Thank you for reading and leaving your thoughts. :)

Yay! I was so happy to see that you added to this. So are you saying that Jim doesn't even take his socks off during... you know? Because that's one of my own personal peeves, so I'm with Pam on that one. ;-) I might forgive it for a domesticated man who does the dishes, though. Wonderfully written, as always, callisto. Thanks so much for sharing!

Author's Response: I'm not saying anything. It's up to you to decide. :)~ In any case, I think Pam's made her point and the socks will be coming off. And some men do dishes and clean up after themselves. I have met them. They are a lovely, rare breed, but they exist. Glad you liked it Blanca! Thanks for the review. I always love hearing from you. :)

Oh, I love this too! Jim is SUCH a boy and I love Pam for finally figuring it out. Great work - and perhaps more? ;)

Author's Response: Hi JITC! I hope you don't mind that I kinda hijacked the idea of Pam's quirks and added Jim in, too, but it seemed fun, and only fair, to look at both sides. Glad you liked it! We'll see if anything more comes to me. :)

You so made my day with this. I'd absolutely LOVE for you to add to this, I may even go as far as begging you. I adored all of his little quirks and can imagine him doing everything perfectly. You my friend are super awesome.

Author's Response: Aw, you don't have to beg. I really don't know if anything else will come to me but if so, I'm glad you'll want to read it! Thanks Hannah_Halpert! I'm happy you enjoyed it. :)

i loved these SOOOO much! because this is what i hate that we miss out on with the show. this is them just living life together and it's precious. and i feel like you capture the real Jim and Pam too. so good :)

Author's Response: These are just the kinds of things I like to write--the stuff we'll never see on the show. Glad you liked it! I appreciate that--I try very hard to capture their voices/personalities. Thanks! :)

Jim is a boy. The sex between them would be really weird if he wasn't.

Eh... wait, I'm not homophobic. Wow. Joke sounds incredibly rude right now... moving on.

Okay, not, but, every day it gets said at work "because he's a boy"/"blank is such a boy" because, well they are. Such as today, when they tied jump ropes around a tricycle to make a mini pod racer or something. And laughed when they fell off and banged themselves up.
Ah, boys.

The sock thing reminds me of Friends and how Barry kept his socks on during sex, but that's another show entirely.

He cleans. I got scared going into the boys' dorms at college. I know one time they were having a bet at how high they could stack the take out containers.

Author's Response: EmilyHalpert, have I told you how much I enjoy your stream-of-consciousness reviews. :) Well, he is a boy. And boys are mischief makers and enjoy silly goofy things all their lives long, which is why women love them, because women grow up and get jaded and lose their playfulness. And, um, I'd forgotten all about Barry from Friends so I didn't steal it from that...but I will admit I did know a man who had a thing about his feet. And some men clean. I lived with one. They exist! They're rare...but they do exist! Especially once they're no longer in college. :)

Callisto!  I LOVE this!  I like how you told the wine spillage story from Pam's perspective.  (I especially like how the "cleanup" part doesn't even make it into her recollection but is the HIGHLIGHT of his!  This is often the way Mr. Blood's memories vary from mine.)

I like this part:

She suggests he clear out his bookcases and donate the things he won’t read again to the library, and he looks at her like she’s just suggested selling off his firstborn son.

That's exactly what will happen with Young Blood when he starts to get really involved with his first girlfriend.  Do NOT mess with his books!  (And, for God's sake, don't put a bend in the spine!)

Just top notch all around.  I hope more inspiration strikes you ... between your papers, of course!

Author's Response: Thanks VB! Glad you liked it. I'll do pretty much anything to avoid focusing completely on school, so we'll see. :) I was going to add something about the 'cleanup' to that part but decided it was better without it--glad to hear that worked. Oh, and the books. I used to be that way about my books. Now I'm the girl who says 'take them to the library.' Strictly a space issue, but it always makes me sad to decide what stays and what goes...

Aw, I ADORE stories about Jim and Pam in domestic bliss, and this was an exceptional one! I think my favorite line was: sometimes he’s not a boy at all (wicked grin!). I would love to see more chapters added on to this.

Author's Response: Thank you! That was one of my favorite lines to write, too. :) We'll see what comes to me. Thanks for the review! Glad you liked it.

This is one of those 'I could quote the whole thing back at you' situations, Callisto. So, so well done. Let me play my personal highlight reel for you -

Sometimes, though, he’d reach for the jar but fall a bit short as he leaned in, his eyes bright with mischief or amusement or incredulity, and she suspected he hadn’t really come up for jellybeans at all.

Oh, you think so, Pam? :) I love that you're telling us this story in the happy present, but still include these little stings from the past, just brushing up against what it must have been like to be her and realize how Jim felt.

She had no idea he was so into zombie movies...

This whole section is great. Men of that age who are into zombie movies are thick on the ground (believe me) and it just seems so likely for Jim. I also enjoy the general consensus out here in the fanon that, for as much as Jim mocks Dwight for being a nerd, he's not exactly innocent of the type of geekery that he likes to tease Dwight for.

He glances up at her in the mirror and his eyes are so green and full of desire and sometimes he’s not a boy at all.

:: thud ::

While I'm down here on the floor, just let me say that I like the detail of him only being late for work. Again, it just seems so likely.

And I love, love tidy!Jim and Jim the reader. I know that the only time we've seen him interact with a book on the show was when he wasn't reading it, but there's no way that he isn't bookish. It just sort of radiates off of him. But maybe that's just me.

Thanks so much for sharing this sweet story with us. My apologies for not reviewing the first part. Don't be a stranger on the Most Recent page, okay?

Author's Response: Oh Talkative, reviews like this are the reason I put this stuff out there. Thank you! I so appreciate seeing specific things that worked/resonated, and I appreciate your taking the time to point out things you liked. About the zombie movies: yeah. I have enough men friends to know the secret geeky world of late twentysomething guys (and older...), and I agree that Jim is more like Dwight than he would ever, ever, EVER admit. (The dual TH in the last ep where they're shoving each other like brothers just says so much to me. :D) And despite what happened in the FTC I've always gotten the sense that Jim is a reader--it just radiates off of him, like you say. And... I wondered if it would seem like I'm making him too 'perfect' in that he's tidy and relatively clean, but honestly, I lived with a man like that and they do exist. Anyway.... I'm so glad you enjoyed this. I haven't had many ideas for our couple lately, I've been so busy and working on other things (how dare I work on original fic, eh? :D), but it's nice to know there's still a place for my random musings when they come to me. Thanks again for the review!! ::hugs::

Adorable! Just adorable! Please keep adding to this, I love it! Also, I laughed out loud several times during your section about boys and laundry. You described my current battle! I may have to take up your suggestion about putting a basketball hoop by the hamper. Why is it that boys do this?

Again, just wonderful! Can't wait to read more of this story and whatever else you plan on writing!

Author's Response: I've never known a man that could find the hamper. I swear it's genetic. Thanks WhatAWaste, I'm glad you liked it! I have no idea if anything else will come to me, this was all very out of the blue when I haven't really had any fanfic thoughts for a long time. But I'll definitely keep it in mind! Thanks for the review :)

I'm so glad you picked up this challenge, callisto. This was fun to read. And so true to life. You establish a great balance between real-life annoyances, yet there's always that undercurrent of love and happiness there. I love these little peeks at what everyday life might be like for Jim and Pam now that they're together and happy. Plus, it's just great to see you writing again. Here's hoping your inspiration continues (whether it means more of this or something else)!

Author's Response: Hi Blanca! Good to hear from you! I'm glad you liked it. It's the weird little things that we really grow to appreciate about each other, isn't it? (Or find annoying. Or both.) It was fun to write, too!
