I really like this. I think you're doing a fine job with the characters. We saw Pam have some freakouts during her pregnancy with Cece, and I can imagine especially at the beginning of this next one, she'd need some time to adjust.
The other thing to remember is that on the show, Jim and Pam are among others and are being watched. Parts of this chapter reminded me a lot of my fella. We don't have kids, but we let each other in at our weakest moments the way neither of us does with anyone else.
The perspective of Pam's morning sickness through Jim's eyes is really interesting and heartwrenching. It's worse to watch someone you love hurt than it is to hurt yourself.
And I love the details. Cece trying to eat her foot is delightful.
Author's Response: Thank you! :) Since this is my first Office fic, I'm still not sure whether I'm writing the characters in a believable way, so it's always nice to hear that I'm doing an okay job. And I'm glad you liked the details! I wanted to make sure Cece had enough of a presence in this chapter.

Dude, I had completely forgotten about this fic and damn it's amazing. I love how you have them coping with this, both a little differently etc. I am so looking forward to another update, because this really was brilliant. I'll review again once they submit your actual chapter 3. Seriously though, one of the best baby fics I have ever read. I hopey ou have a long series planned out for us ;) *is greedy*
Author's Response: Ahh! That is quite a compliment! Thank you very much :) I'm definitely trying hard on this one (hence the almost 6-month wait). I'm not sure about a long series. I'm certainly open to it, I just don't have a whole lot of ideas at the moment. This story is meant to be a 5-7 chapter thing, but I'll think about a sequel since the response to this has been better than I expected. What would you like to see?

I caught this on Fanfic.net and loved the new chapter. It's so very sweet and real and I'm so glad you were able to add it to your story somehow. Please continue to write - I loved this. :)
Author's Response: Thank you :) It took me a while to write, so I'm really glad you enjoyed it!

Just letting you know that folks are out here patiently waiting for chapter 3!

Wow this sure didn't disappoint. Still so beautiful and a little heartbreaking. But above all, you've stuck the truth and realism of the situation even if that's difficult to address. I can't wait for more!

Great chapter! Poor Pam. I can definitely see her freaking out like this! Yay for Jim's reaction!
I can't wait for next chapter!

Oh my goodness. This is just priceless and so dang perfect! That was, oh wow, I have no idea how to put to words (just like Pam) the incredible feat you've completed here. All the emotions, all the dialog and all the descriptions were just flawless and they flowed together beautifully. Since I'm unable to give you anything higher than a ten (quite unfortunately) I will be bookmarking this page as this story is probably the best I've ever read. It has all the things I love, Jim and Pam together, with a cute baby, great dialog and description, the writing and topic sound realistic and all of that is even better when an author writes something about a brand new topic. Congrats, this was the greatest thing I think I've ever read!

Wow! Poor Pam. Is she still feeling a little post-partum depression? Add that to pregnancy hormones and it's no wonder she's having a hard time.
Good chapter!

I have to say again how great this chapter is and how great this story is turning out! It's angsty but very believable. You're very talented and this is really very realistic and in character. I loved how you described Jim playing with Cecelia, and how much it shows that Pam loves them both so much. I really enjoyed getting to read this as a beta, and I can't wait for the next chapter, send it over when you're ready!

I think this is quite realistic, actually. Pam's concerns and fears and her guilt about feeling uncertain and not just happy are perfectly understandable. (I also liked the part in the first chapter where she lamented that they didn't get to 'try' for their second, like so many couples do.) I like how she's at war with how she truly feels against how she thinks she should feel.
The visual of Jim playing with Cece on the blanket and your description of how he plays with her and talks to her is awesome and just how I'd imagine Jim to be as a dad, very in-character. As is his excitement about the new one, and his instant recognition that her tears aren't happy ones. I wonder if Pam's fear and uncertainty won't get him thinking about the downsides of having another baby so quickly, too.
Anyway, this is great! Looking forward to the rest.

Really happy you continued this, more_awake. Is it bad that I enjoyed the angst? I think it was absolutely in character. Great pregnancy reveal, btw--romantic in its simplicity. Poor, poor Pam. Really looking forward to more!

You don't have to worry about this not being realistic. I thought you nailed Pam's emotions perfect. I can't wait for more. Thank you!

YAAAAAAAAAAY, I am sooooo freaking happy you continued this. The first part was fantastic, and you totally outdid yourself with part two, that was just wow. You could really feel how confused poor Pam was feeling - and it broke my heart how emotional she was feeling about the whole thing.
I cannot wait to read the next part, and anything else you write :)
