As one fo the few dads lurking around these parts, I'm breaking a long review hiatus to say what a fine, fine job you've done with this series.  Your Jim and your Cece both seem very real, and while there is a lot of love here, it's not syrupy or idealized.  Perhaps you'll be kind enough to go at least through the college years?

Author's Response: It's great to hear from a dad on this story. I'm basing a lot of it on my own father. My dad and I have what seems like a rare father-daughter relationship in that I am not in the least bit a "daddy's girl," nor do I resent him. We disagree, we both have tempers, he can be a condescending ass, I'm sometimes loathe to admit he's right, but he'd do anything to protect me (and tries, despite my being a self-sufficient grown woman), and I have immense respect for him. Neither of us have any tolerance for bullshit. Cece is more of a daddy's girl and Jim is more of a sentimentalist, but I think they've got a similar honesty between them. And I imagine her relationship with Pam is similar, probably with some of the added intimacies and challenges of the mother-daughter relationship. But I really wanted to focus on Jim as a parent. I'm so glad you'd want to see it go on longer, but I think the story, or perhaps my energy for it, is coming to a natural end point. But thank you for taking the time to review, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on any of the specific incidences throughout.

Loved that chapter. My dad grew up telling me he knows I am responsible and he always would say "I trust you to make the right decisions." Now I'm about to turn 18 and I've never done anything, not even a sip. I haven't even had a boyfriend yet. I really think you're right, that's a very effective thing to say to a teenager.
Excellent story, very realistic :)

Wow I so love this story :)
I told my mom "I hate you!" once, and only once. You would have thought that I had just killed someone. Let's just say she didn't talk to me for a week and I was major grounded.

Aw this is fun! What a gem that line was about Cecelia being reluctant to grow up and how Jim could understand that. Haha!  Love that.

Finally starting to read this. I'm not a big fan of baby fic, but I'm gonna give it a try. Are you a parent? Cause this is something straight out of any day of a toddler! lol

Author's Response: I'm not a parent, no. But I once worked for a family with 8 children. It taught me I do not want to have 8 children.

A broad smile crept across my face as Cece "ran away" down to the end of the driveway...haven't we all done almost the very same thing.  Such a perfect moment between Jim and his daughter!

This is adorable! I love how demanding little Cece is for her 'botty.' And I'm so excited that this will be a long story too, I'm really looking forward to it! Hmm... little moments that stand out for me, when I was younger (which seems like eons ago) every Sunday my dad and I would go for a walk in the morning after breakfast, and then go grocery shopping on our way home. Also, he taught me how to ride a bike, and drive a car. Anyways, can't wait to read more of this :-)

Author's Response: Thank you! Those are all good ideas. And good for your dad for doing the grocery shopping. I'm not sure mine knows what the inside of a supermarket looks like, bless his heart.

Very cute. Good idea for a series. Daddy Jim is going to have to grow a pair or Cece's going to be bratty though. *grin*

Author's Response: Yep! Apologies for the delay in responding to reviews, but I addressed this concern a bit in a future chapter. I can totally see a little girl wrapping Jim around her finger, can't you?

LOVE this..keep it coming, fussy Cece's making my day

Author's Response: Only in fiction do fussy babies make anyone's day. Fussy babies on planes, for example, not cute. Thanks for reading!

Guh, that was adorable. I really loved how Jim wanted to save Pam from hearing Cece crying, that was really cute. I cannot wait to see what you have in store next for Jim and little Cecelia :)

Author's Response: Thanks, and thanks for talking me through ideas!
