I have been such a fan of yours from the very beginning and felt compelled to finally register as a member so that I could finally let you know that I really appreciate your work. I always feel soooo excited every time I see you've posted something. This current one has me totally enthralled. Love the angle you chose to give it by having varying points of view. Your characters are so true to sitcom life. Cannot wait to see where you are taking us with this. I must admit though that I am somewhat relieved that the tumor was benign although our boy is not out of the woods yet. Thank you for doing such an awesome job in entertaining us.

Been putting off reading this. Just didn't know if I'd want to read about JIM's having a tumor, you know? But it really is lovely; I can't quite explain but I like the TONE of it. I think Jim's actions – surreptitiously trying to make all of the "contingency plans" – is very much in character. He'd want to protect Pam from thinking about those details. The one thing that takes me out of the story is that there are misspellings throughout. Things like "graded cheese" that should be "grated cheese." Cece's "onsie" that should be a "onesie." If you'd like to have a second pair of eyes look for these things, send me a PM over on the message boards. Sorry that this is all running together as a single paragraph. I've been using Chrome lately and the interface does weird things to the editor.

I remember clearly reading the first two chapters - but somehow I forgot about this story for the latest two chapters. I'm still trying to figure out how that was possible because this is just so powerfully moving and well written! You've written this with such incredible attention to detail, emotion and character, Dedeen - I'm so impressed with how you've gone about this topic so realistically. I sincerely hope you or anyone you're close to has not gone through this, or something similar and that you've just got a knack for medical-style writing. I'm crossing my fingers that you haven't gone through that, and I'm so sorry if you have.
Please continue, I know there are many other readers out there who would agree with me in saying that they would hate to see this story unfinished!

Wow, my heart breaks...
This is amazingly written. I love being in Jim's brain for this. The way that although his body is very sick, breaking apart, but how his mind is so present with his family. And all to aware of how badly this could all end. I love how his clear, present, family-man mind is so concerned with making sure that his family will be taken care of.
I felt so badly for both he and Pam, I know the new-parent exhaustion. I also know the taking-care-of-a-sick-loved-one exhaustion. I cannot imagine going through both of them at the same time.
The end of this chapter, though, gave me smiles. I adore Pam. I love that Jim will deal with the situation in the way that he needs to, making sure that Pam and CeCe will be taken care of should the worst occur {please do not do that to me}. But, Pam, she will deal in the way that works for her {and me too}, making plans for the entire family once everything turns out okay.
I cannot wait to read more...

Such a heart wrenching update. I was kind of confused at first by Pam being annoyed with Jim in the begin--I can't see her being annoyed he got sick--but then I thought about how long it's been going on and where her emotions are in the moment and it made more sense. And the ending of this..*sigh* Heart breaking. Can't wait for the next update.
