Very funny ending, and a lifelike portrayal of a heartbroken and lovelorn Pam Beesly during Season 3.

Author's Response: Thank you!

This is a very sweet read knowing that this was a New Year's Resolution Pam absolutely kept. And as someone who is very much on Team It's Pam's Turn, seeing her come to the realization that she's waiting for Jim to move is extremely gratifying.

Don't worry, Pam - turns out you're living a romantic comedy! Your happy ending is coming.

Author's Response:

It WAS Pam's turn, and fortunately the writers knew it. I think about that hard-to-hear line of dialog in the rain at the convenience store when Jim is about to propose. She says, "I had farther to go," or something to that effect, and yes. Yes, she really did.

But they got their happily-ever-after, so it's all good!

I hate New Years Eve. I decided that last night. It is a purely evil day. Even if you remove the 'built up' properties of it, the 'new start' part of it, it still totally sucks.
I may be a bit pissed at my brother ruining last night.

Jim is the Harry to Pam's Sally. Of course, I say that without ever having seen When Harry Met Sally. But.. eh, I'm sticking with it.

Well, at least number 1 happened. Number 2... eh, totally unnecessary. Romantic comedies are fun.

Author's Response: I hope your 2010 New Years was better (sorry about this post going unanswered so long!). Thanks, EmH.

Here's to resolution number 1! Maybe the end of season 3 will be full circle from Casino Night, with the roles reversed...?

Author's Response: Here's hoping!! :)

Hee at Pam's resolutions.  She should tell Jim, but if it was a crime to watch too many romantic comedies, I would have been jailed a long time ago. ;) (When Harry Met Sally is one of the best, and one of my personal favourite.)  Here is to hoping 2007 is the year where she makes her move!

Author's Response: Yeah, Pam's got to do something or I'm gonna have to smack her. I love WHMS, too- very funny, charming, and with a great NYE scene!

Man, from your keyboard to Greg Daniels' brain!

I like that you used Harry/Sally in this - perfect impetus!

Author's Response: I've always loved the last part of that Harry/Sally quote, and then the whole thing just fit so nicely. I'm very hopeful that Pam will find her resolve so we can all get some resolution! (Thanks!)

Love the guilty and stupid explantion; so real.  And that Pam truly likes Karen as a person.  But best of all?  That list!  Hilarious!

My New Year's movie is Trading Places.  Kind of a different feel there....

Author's Response:

Hee, just slightly. I think Pam probably does feel pretty dumb right about now, don't you?

Thank you, as usual.

I was halfway through reading the quote at the beginning before I realized it was from that movie! I thought it was something you brilliantly composed for this story! But it perfectly describes what should happen between the two of them. If not for New Year's, perhaps for MLK Day? Valentine's? Arbor Day?

Thanks lis! Nice job and love the sentiment. TELL HIM!!!!!!

Author's Response:

Hah, I wish I were that brilliant. It's my favorite NYE movie quote, definitely!

She needs to step up, doesn't she? So we can all have some resolution!! :)

OK - warning.  Be prepared.  This is going to be a long, ridiculous review for such a short and sweet story. :)

First?  My friend and I had our own When Harry Met Sally moment last night.  The movie's been on my mind - 'cause Steven Ford played Joe and when I saw him on TV at his father's memorial service this weekend I was like "Where'd all his hair go?"...but anyways - that's not what we were talking about.  We were talking about the "'because I'm gonna be 40...someday" line because we're at an age where "gonna be 40" is like getting almost scary close.  I also had an event in December in the building that houses the ballrooms they used for the NYE and wedding scenes and just suffice it to say I'm totally with you - and Pam - on this one.

Great movie - and friends like that should totally be together.

Second?  YES PAM.  TELL HIM.

So yeah.  I loved the story.  Great job.  Write more.  Pretty, pretty please?

My personal NY's resolution?  Write more coherent/less rambling reviews. :)

Author's Response:

It's fate! Or kismet, or something. I need to write more, but maybe not more of this particular story! :)

(I loved this review. It's so stream-of-consciousness)

Well, Karen is no Katy. And Karen could be right for him. But she's not Pam. Full stop. Call me a crazy romantic, but if Pam did Tell him...the rest would be history. I hope she has as much resolve on the show as she does in your terrific story!

Author's Response: Thank you! Yeah, I really don't think there would be any competition if she'd just do it already!  :)

I'm so happy when I see a new fic by you because I know it will be awesome.  And you didn't disappoint with Resolved - I loved it and loved Pam hoping Jim might show up because as I read it, I hoped so, too. I hope Pam puts her NYR #1 in play - soon!

Author's Response:

Oh, thank you! It's good to be back! That movie quote really did inspire a whole scenario with him showing up at her door, but I truly believe it is her turn now. Thanks again!

That is the perfect Jim/Pam movie EVER.  What Pam needs to do is go out and find him NOW, in her jammies.  I'm sure she wouldn't regret it!!

Nicely done!  Good to see stuff from you!!

Author's Response: I thought about having her go right then, but then I thought about the HORROR if she were to find him with Karen. That's too uncomfortable even for this show! :) Thank you! It's good to be back!

Oh, this is lovely, and more than a little heartbreaking.  Because, really, who hasn't been there, hoping.  Sigh.

Author's Response: Yeah, I tend to go back and forth between fluff and heartbreak. I can totally imagine Pam just chilling out, nursing her regrets. Let's hope she gets her butt in gear in 2007!

Ow!  this is beautiful.  That quote from "When Harry Met Sally" is just perfect.  And those are some great resolutions, too.  Go Pam!

Author's Response: Thank you so much. I love Pam and hope she gets some balls soon. LOL.

Ahhh!  This was awesome.  So many beautiful lines, from "He wasn't the only reason, of course, but his figure (and his feelings for her) had lurked quietly in the background of her heart as she'd returned a ring and resumed her own life" to "She'd pushed him away with both hands; how could she even presume to claim a place in a heart she'd already broken?"

Just as gorgeous as your stuff always is.

And while you, I know, have the gift that enables you to offer up these brilliant one shots (and I have a weakness for dragging fics out), I still have to say that I would love to see this continued.... :o)

Excellent job, as always!

Author's Response:

I wouldn't call it a "weakness"- you manage to be consistently brilliant for chapter after chapter. I'm lucky if I can break into a second paragraph!

Thank you so much for the kind review. It feels so good to write!
