WOW. This is just...in so many ways it is completely unlike anything else I've read in JAM fanfic and I....love it. Love it to absolute DISTRACTION. And although there are a zillion lines and moments that are just brilliant in their simplicity or complexity or emotional punch, what I love best is that it took the culmination of the entire story to really, truly understand the importance of that number 2. it makes him feel like he's made up of her: like he is who she is. Just staggering!

These are couple of my other favorite lines/moments:

It used to unsettle her than she knows and notices these things - now she thinks it follows after the sky is blue and the grass is green. How gorgeous is that? That something (really knowing Jim) that she once worried about is now as basic and natural as breathing.

Their very first one involves getting Dwight Schrute to yell for the Pedo file across the office [in the presence of both Jan and an important client] BWAAHAAAHAAAAHAA!!! That is absolutely right up there in the pantheon of Great Pranks by Halpert and Beesley. Genius!

Their second guiltless, completely sober kiss is soft and quiet and full of promise; i'll never break your heart [again]. SIGH. *sniff* Just lovely.

And most of all I love that you've so beautifully captured that with Jim and Pam, the second time around is even better than the first. Who knew (except for you) that two was their magic number?

I'm just heaping so much cosmic love on this right now. SO MUCH. Going right into the favorites....

Ah!  So lovely!  Consider yourself favorited too!  It's JAM, but at the same time it's Office... sweet, but not saccarine.  A vastly underappreciated skill.  Excellent, excellent, excellent work.  Well worth the cute little ribbon.  XD  I really don't think my first try was this good...  The whole theme of favorite numbers is unexpected as well, but it really fits and you make it work.  *thumbs up*

Author's Response: You are really far too nice - this stuff is teeth-rotting sweet. And I happen to think your stuff is more deserving of the cute little ribbon, but I recognise the compliment as it comes, so danke. :D

Okay, so, I read this again.  And I seriously, seriously still love it.  A lot.

I love the way you structured it, parts of it in the present, part in the future, parts that are no tense at all.  And I love all the bits about two and four and how they make up each other with all the adding and dividing and subtracting.  I love that Jim hopes she wants to red flowers.

Mmmmm, yes.  Definitely still amazing. <3

Author's Response:

Hey! So re-reviewing is my thing, but I love that this was actually worth a re-review, much less a reread. You rock really, really hard, you know that? Just so you remember, see.

I can't remember if I have or haven't read this before, it seems familiar, but then it doesn't. Anyway, it's wonderful and lovely and completely fabulous.

And it doesn't hurt that you used lines from 23. One of my favorite songs...

Author's Response:

That, right there: more to support my theory that all Office fans have awesome music taste. ;)

I'm glad you liked it, even though there's a part of me thinking you're much too nice [and do you want something? ;)]; thank you for leaving me a review!! I love your story, as you know, and it's definitely a compliment coming from you. :D

This is just beautifully written.  There were a few lines I wanted to pull out and tell you I loved but it always messes with the formatting and suffice it to say everything in this is just lovely.  I love the whole bit about twos and fours, and the way Karen is still included but there's no bitterness.  The way you describe their second kiss is just amazing -- I can't tell you how much I adore it.  Oh!  And the part where Pam "tackles and confronts" Jim after work... also wonderful.

Okay, I have to include my other favorite line because it was just so great:  "It used to unsettle her that she knows and notices these things -- now she thinks it follows after the sky is blue and the grass is green."

Oh gosh, just marvelous.  Thank you so much for this.

Author's Response: I don't think I ever told you how much I loved this review - but I do, I love this - thank you so much for pointing out what exactly you loved about this story!! And thanks for spending so much time on this, too. :):) Nothing like reading such an awesome review to kick-start my day.

This was just beautfiful. I loved the style you used to write it, and the feelings you incorporated.

Author's Response: Thank you. :D My writing style is nothing if not repetitive, but I'm glad you like it.

What a wonderful string of moments and observations.  I really, really loved this!

Author's Response: You should know I consider it a compliment when someone like you says something like that about my story. :) Thank you!

now she thinks it follows after the sky is blue and the grass is green. I loved this line.

And the last two lines are also wonderful.

Author's Response:

Really? You liked that? I thought it was a little cheesy but I didn't have the heart to take that off, so...

Thank you so much for leaving this review. I adore your fics so I like that this was passable, at least!!

All of these little moments are wonderful, but being the Jammer that I am, this one really wrecked me:

Their first guiltless, completely sober kiss is raw and passionate and long; the culmination of a thousand missed chances.

Sometimes they wish he didn't inherit their criminal genius.

Oh, boy. A JamKid would be a real Dennis the Menace.

He gets it: he is who she is.

Ain't he ever.

Thanks for all of these. Great insight, and just enough "story" to glue them all together.

Author's Response:

Dennis the Menace!! See I was trying to come up with a way to illustrate just how horribly naughty a JamKid would be while talking to a friend but I just could not find the words! Thank you.

Thanks for writing a review, too; I've seen some of your other reviews and I like that you're honest, and everything, and you write just so well, so this review makes me feel good. ;) And thanks for thanking me, even though I haven't a clue where that came from.

I love how this does seem like a patchwork quilt: not one continuous thread, but all matching pieces.

Also, I love that Karen is still their friend.

Thanks.

cheers.

Author's Response: I wrote this before when I thought them being friends would be pretty possible, but now after watching the more recent episodes I don't know as well anymore - it's nice to know that some people still like it, though, so thank you so much!! Positive reviews make me very happy. :)

This was really lovely.  I love the "two" motif you had going through the whole story.  It is lovely in so many ways from the "just-friends" date which turns into more, the pranking, the email, the random conversations.  I loved it all. :)

The only nitpick (and it is a tiny thing) is that you establish that Jim went to pick up his dad at the airport, and then later on, you mentioned his dad passed away when he was a teenager.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for reading this so deeply that you realised I made that mistake - it figures, I read through this so much but I guess I didn't read it too closely or anything because it's my story and I'm bad at doing anything to my stories but tear it apart. :)

Thanks so much, too, for telling me what you think of this story. It means a lot to me, especially as a first-timer in this fandom.

Two is seriously my favorite number.  It's less lonely than one - and 22 is even better because I always win when I play that when I play roulette.  "I'm a roulette expert." ;)

Seriously lovely.  As a fluff addict may I say it was the perfect fix - but was thoughtful and angsty in just the right ways.  Well done!

Author's Response:

That's impossible. "Roulette is not a game of skill. It is a game of chance."

Well most of your stories are perfect fluff, too, so I'll trust your judgement here. ;) Thanks for the review! From someone who's fics are some of my favourites it means a lot.

Author's Response: OK that was a typo but I don't like leaving these things uncorrected because I'm a dork like that - I mean whose fics, not who's.

Lovely progression here...really liked it. Several great lines, but these really got me: And he loves her, fully, completely, deeply. Then: And she loves him, incomprehensibly, unbelievably, unstoppably. (especially the unstoppably.) The part about Jim being an avid reader, lit major, etc. also spoke to me...I've always imagined him that way too (in fact have described him similarly in a couple of fics myself.) Just makes sense. As did this story. Thanks!

Author's Response:

I think the main reason for my thinking he likes reading and took lit is John Krasinski, really; I feel a bit like a stalker but I love that he took lit and I love that he's doing Brief Interviews and all.

Maybe it's also because I love lit that this story came off better than I expected it to. Thanks so much for reviewing, you've no idea how much compliments mean from one of the better fanfic-authors I've read from. :)

Every time I read this, I find something new that I love about it.  The first thing that really hit me was this:

Just like how he doesn't wear his suit jacket here, how sometimes she catches him smuggle a grape soda to his desk, how he suddenly seems to love jellybeans when he claimed he doesn't really like sweets during Halloween that year.

Karen really has no idea who Jim is, since all she's seen of him is who he was trying to be in Stamford.  Someone different.  I love Pam taking the first step towards making things right with Jim.

My most favorite part of this story is the part where Pam begins to break free from herself, from being afraid and everything that's holding her back (it's just like that Travis song that she and Jim listen to in The Client!).  To me, this is a pivotal moment of the story, the fact that she has to push herself not to care what anyone thinks, but when she does, it ends up being one of the bravest things she's ever done.  That and her various confrontations, mainly the one with Jim.

(Perfect use of the JEW lyrics, too.  They fit in so well, yet having them in the middle of the story sort of ever-so-slightly changes the color, shifting into the next stage of Jim and Pam's relationship.)

The description of their first and second kisses is just so beautiful and perfect.  What makes this story so wonderful is just the complexity of it.  The way you've described Jim and Pam knowing that they should be together, yet still struggling with actually putting it into execution is just so real and so amazing.  And then finally when it does happen, it's just the most natural thing in the world, and the way you sort of shifted the story into that next level makes it just feel so organic.  It just flows so well.  Even though things are bumpy and awkward, in the end it's just so right.

I have no words to describe the last five sentences.  That's how crazy in love I am with them.

I think you know by now that I love this and I've never read something so original, so colorful, and so interesting.  I really look forward to reading many more stories from you!

Author's Response:

This, I think, is the most awesome review I have ever received - granted I don't post too many stories and I don't get too many reviews but still. Thank you, so, so much.

I don't know why but something about the way Pam feels is very familiar, like I just can't help knowing how and why and what she does to move against that feeling and everything - maybe that's why those specific parts of this story came out like it did.

And here let me confess something: at the point of the story where 23 comes in, I had this huge writer's block and I just had no idea what to put in there. And a couple of days after, I opened the document, and this song kept ringing in my head so I typed up my favourite lyrics in the story - and after that I could come up with something to follow. It's just a fluke more than anything else that it's still there, but so many people have come to comment on that that I don't know what to say about it. :P It does prove, though, my theory on the fact that all Office fans have brilliant music tastes. ;)

You have no clue how much your comments mean to me because I like being judged and it's nice to know I'm being judged in a good way. Thanks so much for spending time on this review. Really.
